That's a lovely set of L1 scorelines. Well done Reading.

Evatt is a wanker too so I'm glad Bolton missed out as well.

Oxford up please, someone new.

Dreadful game really, Cambridge strangely seemed to come for the 0-0 time wasting from minute one and we never really had the quality to take the two gilt edged chances we had.

One side deservedly relegated and one extremely fortunate that there have been four worse sides on show.

To not stay up when so many sides didn’t even hit 50 points is a bad showing from us but thankfully we won’t have to see that shower again.

Thank fuck this shit season is over. Nothing game really apart from Uche’s missed chance. Cambridge never had much intent in going for the win but then they didn’t have to do fair play to them.

Commiserations to Cheltenham. On to the important business now for us.

Well we tried. Hit the post after we scored and had numerous chances

I think that’s just a “job done” for us but we are not a good side, dons big changes needed this summer.

Commiserations to Cheltenham, sounds like you gave it a real go today.

I'll take that, not a game that'll live long in the memory as we've stumbled backwards over the line.

Brophy finally getting his goal with a beach ball at the end was a lovely touch though.

Commiserations to Cheltenham.

Thank God the season is finally done. Big clear out needed, just hope Udoh stays as he’s been on fire since Hurst has come back.

Don’t have to be disappointed now until Southgate buggers our Euro chances up in a couple months time.

We didn’t get any better second half, both teams denied blatant penalties by the joke of a ref. Thank goodness that seasons done. Good luck in div Two Vale, hope you have a better season.

Certainly hope it is as if it isn’t I don’t even want to think on the consequences of that. Great support from yourselves, more Vale there than I expected but a very funereal home atmosphere understandably. Definitely a game that shows how much work both clubs need to start with from now really.

All the best next season.

A shame to fail when we had started the day in the playoffs, but ultimately we've run out of gas with too many injuries. Mandroîu missing the penalty was the turning point. Never expected to get this far give our start to the season under Kennedy.

Portsmouth utterly shameful in their time wasting and gamesmanship from about half an hour in. Leaves a bit of a sour taste, it has to be said.

Special mention for the referee, who was totally clueless, along with his inept assistants who seemed scared to get involved. Hope we never have the useless prick ref one of our matches again.

Anyway, need to pick ourselves up and build for next year. The league looks more challenging but we've got a great manager and the basis of a good squad. Hopefully we can build on it and go again next year.

Heartbroken. They gave absolutely everything and more.

Won’t feel any consolation right this moment but you have just the man to get you back up. DC knows how to get promoted from that league as much as anyone.

Yep if he stays I'll be really happy. More important keeping him than any player

Shrewsbury Burton & Cambridge definitely making a strong case for extending the relegation zone to seven places this season.

Good win for us after a successful season. Keeping Dan Agyei (and others) fit next year will mean we’ll be a real nuisance for the big clubs.

Critchley needs sacking after that performance. Absolutely shite away from home all season in a awful league 1. Hopefully Bolton get promoted in the playoffs.

A real shame not to get that done when in our hands beforehand, but fair play to Oxford. A tough un down at Exeter and got the win.

We were off it first half again and like a training match for Pompey. 2nd half we got in their faces without creating any clear cut chances. Got a penalty with 30 to go. What a time to slip. Go 1-0 up and I fancy us to see it out.

As the game went on, we had to find the win and changed things up with 15 to go. It disrupted us more than anything. We were either going to win it or be opened up at the back.

Don't know why Pompey needed to time waste as much as they did. You're a good side, no need for you to do it.

Congrats on your promotion.

Barnsley very lucky in the end, as they conceded last minute. IF we had won, thay would have dropped them out.

Far, far too early to tell. Season only ended half hour ago. We’ll have a completely different squad as will the majority of other teams. We might even have a new owner to. I’ll wait and see who we sign before making predictions.

Port Vale fans and commentators bemused Cambridge come for a draw when a draw was good enough to stay up.

Anyways, get rid of the lot of this squad and hopefully the recruitment is a lot better in the summer.

Don’t get ahead of yourself because you had a fairly good season. Second season syndrome is real and it will be tough for the likes of you and Northampton next season.

That’s three seasons we’ve stayed up so like I say don’t get ahead of yourselves.

I agree. We did. Congrats on your promotion. A game too far today against a team who weren't going to lay down (sadly). We tried, if that was a normal league game, would have ended 0-0. However its nice to take it to end of the season and hopefully bodes well for a good start next season. Let's see what happens in the summer

Just been on twitter and find it bizarre how many Leyton Orient fans are laughing at us for missing out on the playoffs, calling us a horrible club for forcing the rearranged game. Absolutely deluded.

A poor game with two appalling teams. Thought Cambridge were dreadful first half, if we'd even been remotely bothered we might have scored. They improved marginally second half but both teams were just playing it out to a conclusion.

Thought we were very poor too but the lack of urgency was to be expected. Made me laugh that some Cambridge fans started the oleh's, and after about 3 passes they gave it away and promptly stopped. I don't think either team put together consistent possession.

It's a damning indictment of us as a club that we've finished 5 points less than an awful Burton team, 7 points less than a poor Cambridge team and even lower than a Cheltenham team that didn't score in their first 10 games.

On today's evidence we need about 8 new first team players. I'd say the same for Cambridge too if they don't want to join us the season after next.

Decent following who made more noise than a lot of the 'bigger ' clubs. It was deathly quiet in the home end but as to be expected.

Glad it's over for a few weeks now. We need to have a much sounder base if we come back up. We've seen it with other clubs who have gone back down and come back stronger.

How bad must you guys have been from Charlton downwards.
We have been piss poor all season bar a few decent results in December and finished 15th on 57 points which imo sums up how crap this league is. We gave most of you wins too.

Appalling to be honest mate. I've seen us play Shrewsbury twice who were worse than us. Cambridge weren't much better. Burton dreadful, Cheltenham spirited but lacking quality, Fleetwood similar, Carlisle ironically were one of the better ones. We've barely gained any points against these teams, which is why we are where we are. Losing 2-0 leads twice has essentially relegated us. We didn't even need to have moderate form in the last 10 games.

Fair play to our lads for turning up and not throwing the match. Deserved that win even making 6 changes. Can't wait to see the back of league one refs.. Totally incompetent

Deserved win for us, Shrewsbury were poor for large spells. We did switch off with 20mins left and could’ve made the game a bit more hairy, various changes were also made at 3-0.

Both sides will no doubt look a lot different in 3 months.

Completely agree, the ref today had a shocker, with what was on the line, he needed to be strong and was the complete opposite.
