The lack of morals in football never cease to amaze me. But then as pointed out, a club with Barton as manager must be content to sign someone like Brown. Match made in heaven.

Conor Washington looks to be progressing and should be done very soon, according to our resident ITK who has nailed every signing so far.

I hoped our first purchased signing in four years would be slightly more exciting but guess it is what it is.

I was excited when the Brown transfer rumours first materialised on deadline day in January, and disappointed when we couldn't get it over the line.

Perhaps if he'd signed that event would never have happened, but in hindsight i'm glad we missed out. From a purely footballing perspective, Rovers have got themselves a good player at this level.

Exeter the big losers in all this. Not a good look at trying to retain him, and instead having to let him go without a whimper.
We aren't big losers at all.

HOW THE FUCK have Fleetwood town managed to sign Danny Mayor?? Is this some sort of fucking piss take?

A little jumped up proper non league bus stop club outside Blackpool with dodgy money sign a class midfielder why does he only ever play for tinpot clubs like Bury and now Fleetwood??

What a wasted career and no doubt he'll have a blinder against us like he always does ffs.

FLEETWOOD??
Bonkers isn't it.

Brown has always had the talent but we couldn’t wait to get rid of him. We sold him for 250k to Colchester as he thought he was better than he was.

A really silky player but a bad egg off the pitch. Hope he goes down.

This is surely going to end in tears isn't it? Their owner who has bank rolled them is going down for fraud, which also surely means any of his money/businesses will be tied up in proceeds of crime. Danny Mayor won't be coming for a packet of fags and a 4 pack. This will be probably his last contract, so they'll be paying him well. Again, where is the money coming from?

Well I'm sure the EFL are monitoring it all very carefully like they did with Bury

Really surprised you rate him that highly. Was a real enigma whilst at Cambridge, brilliant one minute, utterly ineffective and greedy the next. Not a team player at all, with rumours he was a bad egg in the camp to boot. If he had progressed that far, then his off field antics are even more stupid and reprehensible. Will be amazed if he avoids at least a short custodial sentence, but we will have to see what the court decides. Better for your club in the long term to take the moral high ground and get rid?
Crazy isn’t it. Honestly, he’s been outstanding for us and Matt Taylor definitely got the very best out of him. A couple times Taylor made reference to the fact that Brown had been improving his running stats, which showed on the pitch. I think he probably just matured on the pitch and clicked with us.

He carried his form on under Caldwell but then came his assault charge just after his potential move to Portsmouth didn’t happen on deadline day, which is a huge shame and at the very least he showed a severe error in judgment being out on a Wednesday night, when we were training the following day. The charge is very serious one, but I’ve heard from a few people that there was racial provocation. Of course, Brown should never have reacted how he did, but it does put a different slant on things.

I wish him all the best despite taking a sideways move. He’ll get a good reception at SJP from most I’m sure.

Matthew Pennington joins Blackpool after rejecting a new contract offer with us.

I don’t know if there’s any Blackpool fans on this forum, but you have just signed one of the best CB’s at this level. Gutted to lose him but was expected. Surprised he didn’t go to the Championship though as Rotherham and Birmingham apparently offered him a contract.

Jevani was great for us. He was probably our best player and our only really creative one and we would have been in serious trouble if it wasn't for his goals and assists. He would go missing at times but then part of that was down to having a shit team around him and poor tactics.

He was very well liked by our younger support, but like people say there was alot of rumours about him being a bad influence behind the scenes. Those rumours were there right in his early days at Pish too, which is partly why he found himself bouncing around non league before we picked him up.

The panenka penalty and the coded Tweets during his time at Colchester are a few examples of his poor attitude at times.

There's undisputed talent there and at the right clubs he shines, but then his bad attitude or behaviour always seems to return in some form. After this latest stuff I'm not sure any club should touch him, not sure anyone can defend him as he's admitted he's guilty of one of the assault charges.

Rough couple of days for us on the transfer front. Kane Wilson deal has fallen through because of issues with structure of payment. Baccus deal stalled because of WP issue but a championship club has come in for him now so that one is unlikely…and Flick deal from Schalke looks like it’s fallen through too. Assume we have back up options but not ideal

Curtis Davies was apparently in Cheltenham yesterday for talks - I've got a feeling this signing might just happen.

We're also being linked with Jamie Pardington - a 22 year old goalkeeper who's been playing with Larne in Northern Ireland. I suspect he'll be coming in as a backup to whatever loanee we get in as number 1, which means Max Harris (already signed a contract) will be going out on loan again.

Not many people would cry if Fleetwood ever went bust.

For the 100 or so fans they have I'm sure they would have enjoyed their ride in the football league, considering a club their size should really be playing in a non league pub league.
Would be easy for them to start up again in a park somewhere in front of an old man and his dog.

I'm definitely not sure he will. Particularly as by then the details of that night will be known.

Honestly, wish our boardroom was just a tad more leaky. We barely get any news up until about an hour before we sign.

As Maglorie is injured we'd still need a Centre-back to cover/push Guthrie and Sherring, a quality centre-midfielder to replace Leonard unless he comes back on loan, an inside forward to replace Bowie unless he comes back on loan (which is rumoured to be happening) and then a few forwards so we don't just have one on the books.

We might try to get rid of Haynes with Koiki and Brough brought in, or he might be kept as cover as he's cheap, and we'd probably like to get rid of Hylton but almost zero chance of that happening so he'll have to concentrate on transitioning away from playing.

Apparently the itk on the forum says up to 4 could either sign or collapse over the course of this week, so could be busy, but absolutely no idea on who or what position.

Heard that Dan Happe might be signing for Bolton. They should be Happe with that etc. etc.

If it's any consolation (and it won't be) then we have signed no-one so far, plus we don't even have any active rumours doing the rounds - there was the rumour of Koiki to us (which has obviously come to nothing), we know retrospectively that we missed out on that defender guy who's just gone to the Gas, but beyond that, zip.

And we probably need at least 6 players in to be anything approaching competitive next season, still plenty of time, and I know players' contracts from last season still haven't officially run out yet, but you'd hope we had heard at least *something* by now.

Seeing other teams sign players always heightens everyone’s panic levels doesn’t it

Apparantly the next two who may sign are Max Power & George Friend -- Both at our training ground yesterday.

I would be annoyed if Friend signed for you. A real Grecian and always imagined he would be back here at the end of his career.

Slight gamble for them if this happens as he's unproven at this level and has had two nasty injuries the last two seasons, but would be a good move for him if it happens.

Keep hearing about a possible move for Ladapo to Charlton. Nothing would happen until we sign 2 strikers but would be a great signing for Charlton. Believe his brother is there too?

Curtis Davies has apparently passed his medical and agreed terms.

We've also got Joe Starbuck on trial - formerly of Grimsby and Sheffield United.

Hardly played lately and knocking on a bit. You are welcome to him
That’s my general thoughts tbh, but I base that on stats and now actual knowledge on the guy.

Hard to believe we could get Max Power tbh, but if we did then jesus I might just get excited about a play off push
