Not so.
Gillingham are in promotion play-offs with a GD of minus 8 having conceded 47 goals and scored 39.
That is remarkable.
I don’t think he was being entirely serious mate.

Football League show become a joke now. 1 hour 7 mins long and the first 27 minutes spent on Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich games alone.

Also loads of flipping adverts.

I now just watch the EFL goals show on skysports on the 'Now' app where it just shows L1 and L2 goals and there are no adverts inbetween.

I always record it and watch it once it's finished. Fast forward through all the interviews and ad breaks and can get it done in about 25 mins. And that's all 3 divisions.

Sharpe did a great job negotiating for players spotted by Nigel and Simon Clough and Gary Crosby, for example last January we signed Louie Reed, Alfie Kilgour, Calum Johnson and DKD all for no more than £100k which is incredible, we sold Hawkins and Lapslie to Gillingham the same month for more than that.

He also did a good job implementing stuff like the new ticketing system so he will be a welcome addition to Bradford, the only issue is he’ll only be HOF and not the actual CEO, going to be bizarre considering the other bloke already at Bradford is a clown in comparison in that role.

He left Mansfield to help with the family business, and the club off field definitely suffered as Carolyn is now CEO but not there day to day which is never a good thing.

Interesting it's head of recruitment as we already have Gent in that role. Also, I didn't realise Sharpe is best mates with Sparks.
We certainly need something and someone different to bring in fresh eyes, hopefully he’ll do a good job. I think It is slightly wrong though, I don’t think it will be a HOR but a director of football or operations. Something a number of fans have been clamouring for for a while, in fact one on Bantams talk had a go at me for daring to make such a suggestion after we beat Newport earlier in the season, that aged well…

The fans would be better placed to run the club, Sparks said we had no need for one and now is likely flip flopping again as he does with the managers he hires.

I'm hoping it's DOF and not HOR too. That would align more with what Conker posted above, certainly has the skills. I think Gent going would be a big step forward for me. 38 players signed or something and 6-7 are only good enough.

Wasn't that Kevin fella, was it? Seems to reply to every single post in a proper snarky and condescending way. Only person I have on ignore.

"Football Insider claim the grandson of former Wigan owner Dave Whelan is set to take the job at Valley Parade.

But the T&A understands it is definitely NOT as head of recruitment – the position held by Stephen Gent - as the story suggested.

Sharpe, a close associate of City CEO Ryan Sparks, has been out of the game since leaving his position as Mansfield chief executive last summer."

Confirmed. Happy with this we need someone in charge of the footballing side of things who actually knows what they are doing. In time to prepare for the summer window as well. Now it’s down to the owner to deliver on his statement last week and actually invest in the playing squad so we aren’t fishing in the shit pool.

I think most would say Cannon has been our player of the season. He has been more consistent than Lee overall but when Lee is on form he is clearly too good for this level.

These list are just done by looking at the goals and assist stats it seems.

I thought there would be a lot more quality players at this level but I can't think of too many that have stood out.

Manager of the year definitely Clough, for getting plucky Mansfield competing against all the odds on a shoestring budget.

I obviously have some bias but Wild and Lindsey over Clough and Williamson for me, with Lindsey winning it.

MK Dons and Mansfield are around where they should be expected to be. MK would've had promotion sewn up if it wasn't for Alexander, they've been in great form since Williamson took over and have a great squad, but he just needed to not be shit.

Glad it's not just me who thinks Elliott Lee being included here is hilarious. Matt Smith has single handedly kept Salford up, without him they'd have been screwed. I know I'm biased as well, but Mickey Demetriou feels like a snub as well. Been outstanding most of the season and scored goals against the likes of Mansfield, Wrexham and Stockport. He's got 14 goals and assists as a CB who doesn't take penalties or free kicks. What more can he do to get on the list?

Lindsey for me too. Fan of Williamson but agree with Dippy Don not had a whole season and inheritated a seemingly (very) talented squad for this level.

Player of the season DKD and JJ were shoe-ins, not sure about who should join them.

Exciting if you are club with one of those top performing youngsters.

Clough getting recognition for the outrageous job he’s doing is always nice. Imagine whoever sneaks an automatic spot out of the 3 managers will get it. I would have gone for the Crawley boss though.

I agree with what everybody else says about Lindsay, to take a side expected to finish bottom into play off contention is miraculous so to not even be on the shortlist is very short sighted.

As others have said, considering pre-season predictions and where we are now, it's amazing Scott Lindsey hasn't made the list.

He's the White Pele.

As Master D says he's probably not our player if the season let alone the leagues. Quality player but he's not been as effective in the second half of the season.

Kemp has been the player who has stood out most for me.

Pete Wild should be in the manager list, he'd be my shout.

Probably Apter for young player.

The crawley manager should get it.

Though if with a budget of 7th/8th in the league if clough gets mansfield up over the heavyweights in the league it would be a great achievement
