Charlie Wyke is an ok player for this level , his scoring rate wasn't fantastic in the 2 loan spells he had with us, when he became available the fact that only 2 teams in the bottom 4 of the bottom league were intersted says a lot.... He will get you 10 a season or so, but if you want to progress you will be looking for a better proposition

He must've been a lot better for us than he was for you, both goals he scored against Tranmere were crackers and the Portsmouth equaliser a few weeks ago was very calm when most other players would've skied it. He's pretty big as well and seems to be bulking up so he'll make a good target man in a year or so.

I have to agree with the first response. Wyke was an ok loanee for us. Never going to be in a promotion side but will scrap and abag a few for a struggling or middling side imo.

Though it makes one wonder if neither Ian Bogie with his excellent record at Gateshead or Jim Gannon in his second stint could turn your fortunes round, who could? The managerial seat at Stockport seems a real poisoned chalice.
If Gannon had the same backing as the random bloke from Bosnia we wouldn't be in the Conference North. As for Bogie he couldn't cope with not being bankrolled, the pressure of being at a big club and the location.

Really? You wouldn't think it looking at their squad.
A lot of their team would be playing at full time Conference clubs if they weren't splashing the cash on huge part time wages. I reckon they are paying out more than the likes of Accrington and Morecambe.

I honestly thought that was a child's handwriting, turns out it's Gary Johnson's. That is pretty tinpot.

Shouldn't they have done that about 10 matches ago?

I like it how he said some meant it and some didn't... Which in effect makes the whole thing useless.

To those (most of us it seems) who think Tranmere are doomed, perhaps it's worthwhile reminding them of this sequence of events last time they were in the second tier:

19 Grimsby Town 45 13 10 22 42 62 -20 49
20 Huddersfield Town 44 11 14 19 46 54 -8 47
21 Portsmouth 44 9 19 16 42 55 -13 46
22 Crystal Palace 44 10 13 21 52 68 -16 43
23 Queens Park Rangers 45 7 18 20 44 74 -30 39
24 Tranmere Rovers 45 9 10 26 44 75 -31 37

Palace had just sacked their manager after a terrible run of form and as above it looked like it was too late for anyone to save their season. Yet under their chief scout (hardly long term manager material) they won both their final games and Huddersfield lost when they only needed a draw saving Palace and relegating Huddersfield, which shows that any change can galvanize a severely underperforming set of players if the manager has clearly lost the dressing room and the players don't want to play for him any longer. Of course it's going to be harder this time because you have two teams to overhaul instead of one, but though Hartlepool have the least challenging set of fixtures out of the three, Exeter and Carlisle away are by no means easy games. You have to believe you can still do this, as relegation could set your club back years if not put its very existence under threat. Good luck...

It was done when he first came into the club, those who 'didn't mean it' are either not playing any more or have been sent back to their parent clubs

Pools winning, Tranmere losing.

Tranmere would be down if results stay the same.

Sums up our luck this season when a full back scores his first ever goal from 20 yards out. We deserve to be relegated mind, but a bit of luck our way for once wouldn't go a miss!

Hughill putting Hartlepool ahead reiterating my point, he was absolutely shocking when we had him.
