After a reported "Money Meltdown" this could be a super time to be playing Cambridge. Last season they did the double over us and it is time for revenge.

The Abbey is normally a happy hunting ground for us. In the league - our last ten trips have been

W 7
D 2
L 1

Prior to last season we had not lost there in the league since 1972. It will be a much changed side with probably only 3 players starting from less than one year ago. Cambridge appear leaky at home having let in 3 goals 3 times at home although two of those were with 10 men.

This is the time where we're in need of a win and will do anything for it. We had an absolutely amazing attackive first half against positive and looked like a team that would challenger for promotion. We have shown spells of it and I think this game is the game where we will play quality attackive football throughout the game. We need a win, not a draw and you can't go too long unbeaten - got to get beat sometime and I do believe it will be Saturday! ;) Will be a good game but I'm going for a 2-0 win to the U's after a promising first half against Portsmouth. This is where we need to start picking up points, COYUS

Can't wait for this one with us bang in form. Small chance we could get into the top 3 with a win so that should be all the motivation they need.

Hopefully a big away following will travel as well, and I think it'll be a bloody good atmosphere in the away end

Fancy our chances in this one. Although I hear Chris Dunn is injured which effects our chances of winning. Not sure what has happened to cambridge, with all the signings they made early doors thought they would be far from struggling.
We seemed to have found some real consistency now so hopefully we can continue that, with a more favourable set of fixtures coming up than those we have faced in the last month.
Going 2-1 cobblers, with 1100 of the shoe army in the away end

Feeling confident about this one, which is a bit out of character for me, as lately I've been everything but optimistic when it comes to the U's.

So far, luck hasn't been on our side, and we've also self destructed quite a few times, so it's time for us to kick start our season with 3 points. I think we stand a good chance of actually getting the win as we tend to play better against the decent sides, but there's the little problem of who will replace Roberts and Legge(if he's doesn't make it in time and is out for the match). Another thing I'm not comfortable with is the keeper. As much as Dunn is prone to errors and poor judgement, I think he's the better keeper.. Whenever I see Sam Beasant in goal, I get this feeling of uneasiness, and I just know the opposition will score at some point.

If Legge plays, then I predict a 2-1 win.

I think we'll lose. My confidence in the side is shot at the moment, I'd almost "settle" for a point.

I think Money's got two home games left. Failure to win either would result in me calling for him to go. He's got my backing now but we need to see an upturn in form immediately.

Richards will absolutely tear our defence a new one, cobblers to win 2or3 nil.

Cue abuse for money and the mother of all tantrums by the great man, probably a load more excuses to.

I know you've put forward slashes between Newton and the Hughes twins but it would be far fairer if we started with 13....

Good to hear both Maloney and Horwood played 90 minutes earlier in the week. That being said I dont see any reason to change what has been a settled, winning side. Smith, Furlong, Brisley, Cresswell, Buchanan, O'Toole, Byrom, Adams, D'ath, Hoskins, Richards.

Hopefully all our off field issues can continue to be put to one side and we can continue our good run. Sean Dyche was at Sixfields against Hartlepool, rumoured to be looking at Adam Smith. Would be gutted if he left soon but totally understand it, surely there are more thai girls in Northampton than Burnley?!

712 tickets sold as of an hour ago. Should be comfortably above 1,000

Although Laker and Arbury tried their best to dampen my optimism ;), I'm still feeling confident. Truth be told, I'm even more confident of a good performance, and hopefully 3 points, than I was 3 days ago. Why I hear you ask? Simple actually - the amount of players we have out at the moment, as Imo, we tend to play a lot better when the odds are stacked against us. I'm expecting the Cobblers to tear into us from the first minute, so it's imperative we go through those delicate first 20 mins or so without conceding and then who knows........

By the way Arbury, that KTF motto of yours is clashing a bit with your doomy predictions lately

As supporters vanni all we can do is KTF, it's just me being honest that you may find as pessimism, I say it how I see it and at the minute it's been dire.

I really can't see money turning this around, we all know he's tactically good when he wants to be but so far it's been to similar to the back end of last season, just the same don't concede long ball rubbish and it's become very draining as a supporter knowing what's been spent to whats being delivered.

Like I said earlier in the season, the soul and community feel has disappeared somewhat, it's very money orientated in both ways, also disappointed that youth haven't been given a chance, no matter how many suspensions/injuries we have money would rather bring in a loan signing than give youth an opportunity, I could go on but I think you'll get the gist of it.

First 20 mins was shaky but after we weathered the storm we grew into the game and started to cause problems and over 90 mins it was a deserved win. If it wasn't for Adam Smith it would have been 4 or 5.

The sending off was such a bad tackle it was almost laughable because it wasn't a leg breaker but more of a kung fu kick. Absolute headloss.

The lad Hoskins really impressed me today for Northampton. Looks a good player.

For us, Taylor, Taft, J Hughes and Dunk were excellent. Big 3 points :)

Thought we bossed that for long periods and was a shame we didn't get anything. Think we moved the ball especially well at times, and I enjoyed the game hugely.

Disappointed with the result but not hugely dejected, today was a day for fan unity in ur away end and I think we achieved that and played a big part in creating a decent atmosphere. 1,300 is a good turnout and we made a load of noise. Up the bloody cobblers.

Also the Cambridge fans were the next in line to see Adam Smith's quality save roadshow. Two outrageous saves today, he really is awesome.

Very happy with that one, much needed win and cracking goal from Harry to boot. Legge and Roberts are going to have to fight their way back into the side. ;-)

Now hope we can following it up in the next couple in the south west.

We've already seen how good he is as he was on loan to us. We tried to sign him when sacked but chose you boys. Cracking keeper and it's a real shame as it looks like you'll have to cash in on him in Jan.

Yup much improved, no bad performances yesterday, we just need to string it together for 4 or 5 games now, rather than have to wait 4 or 5 games for another good one.

I'm missing the next two so we should get at least 4 points....

We have to take this into our next game which is winnable as Exeter have hit the skids lately. 5 points off the play-off and we really haven't got going yet this season.

If we can put a run together it will give everyone belief that we can challenge this season.
