Even the most optimistic of Bolton fans must find that a bit worrying.

I've seen a few on Facebook who are actually happy about this, "it was holding them back" they say.

Interesting, I can't see anyone jumping at the opportunity to take over the club though.

This is a company owned by Dean Holdsworth who owned shares of the club, they have been liquidated as a company and holdsworth now doesn't own the shares. Holdworth company were a shelf company, and never put any money into the club, so doesn't affect any "money worries"

The loan, which because of accumulated interest is understood to be closer to £7m, was secured against club assets.

I would have thought that is the bit that would worry you along with the 37.5% of shares up for sale.

Not really, Holdsworth took out the loan to buy the shares, he borrowed £5m from blu marble at something stupid like 26.5% interest to be paid back after 1 year. The complicated bit is that he secured the loan against all the assets of the club, which he did not have sole ownership of (Ken Anderson owning the majority). The battle now is the liquidator of holdsworth company now has the shares and there are 4 parties interested in buying, and blu marble want their money back of course. I'm not worried as Holdsworth put no money into the club once he bought the shares, the battle was Anderson wanting to buy holdsworth shares and he wouldn't sell, i presume because Anderson wasn't going to pay the cost of the shares plus the interest. It will all become clear Tuesday/Wednesday as this is the deadline for interested parties to buy the shares.
