Just watched the Spenny v Tamworth highlights, who was that number 19 for Tamworth? Looked like a fan who had won a meet the team/play with the team matchday fan experience raffle.

Liam Dolman. He played for Harriers back in 09-10 season and looked about 30 then. Apparently he's only 35

It’s ok they will all be arrested and then re-banned after our game.

One of the main police hubs for greater Manchester police is located 3-4 minutes drive from Curzon’s ground, they can have a lot of police there quick.
GMP are not fit for purpose, so don't be disappointed if they fail to appear.

In other news, Darlington have re-signed Will Hatfield, bringing him back on a 2 year deal.

A proper box to box midfielder with a great engine, just what we need to link defence and attack.

Typical curzon style will be to play well here vs a stronger kings lynn after being awful vs a poorer rushall but we may not be good enough to win it and I will as usual get annoyed at our attitude for the more winnable matches

May be heading for smallest first home match crowd at this level.

10 mins to kick off downpour rain at wrong time and looking at best 100 people here. Pitch is perfect so no risk of game off.

Club just doesn’t get any local backing it’s a shame
219 apparently.

Doesn't help Curzon that the area is saturated with clubs, spoilt for choice even beyond Ashton Utd. Bury are back now pulling the crowds in. Droylsden are back as well pulling several hundred strong gates despite looking terrible in the NWC South.

They don’t go to any of these clubs, they all go the pub to watch premier league matches Saturday afternoons.

We all from our different areas have our grumbles about the glory hunting tv fans who used to walk around with shirts from teams 3-4 hours away from them they never have seen but for some reason thought it may be better in manchester in respect of ‘their fans will actually go and watch’

Manchester is worse most don’t go ‘probably costs’ and just dismiss fact you’ve a massive hotbed of maybe 20 clubs within one city.

Plus I think a lot living in Manchester ain’t from Manchester doesn’t help, there are 46,000 people live in Ashton and 250,000 live in Tameside more than enough to easily get 700-1000 fans for the bigger home games but just doesn’t happen.

It’s like in Manchester there is zero association to football unless it’s man United or Man City,

But as mentioned before financially we probably earn more than many in this league because of the set up and facilities and amount of things linked up all through the week. Match day income contributes next to nothing on Curzon’s income whereas for better supported clubs it is their main or only income.

Curzon deserve more fans through the turnstiles than that and they shouldn't have to borrow Carlisle fans to make the numbers up.
Same with Vauxhall FC in Ellesmere Port. They had multiple promotions at the beginning of this century and even knocked QPR out of the FA Cup at the Deva (Chester). Were competitive at NLN level, but rarely attracted more than 200 fans. The people of Ellesmere Port (pop 65,000) never gave them a chance. Well they're back at Step 4 trying again. I supported them home and away when the yank clown Terry S***h was destroying Chester City FC.

Great setup when you are there but it's a dreadful location, lets be honest. No idea how anyone under the age of 17 gets there unaccompanied by an adult. When we played them in a league game after reforming they had to put on several shuttle buses for us to Hooton station late at night. Just don't know how they can grow.

Some of our fans had a meltdown after our draw at the weekend, must win tonight to prevent another one

Beating kings lynn 1-0 at half time.

Funny game. We couldn’t even touch the ball hardly the first 20 minutes they were miles ahead of us but we defended great all half and they’ve had minimal chances.

Grew into the game and then seen the damage in kings lynn this season to last seasons side……..they ain’t very good at the back.

Scored one, got behind them 2-3 times could have got more, may rue the fact we didn’t.

A lot of hard work and defending to go but good chance of win here.

4-0 win for us against Darlington.

Two very fortunate goals and two brilliant ones.

Darlington hit the post early on but didn't really threaten after that.

We were so unlucky tonight played so well second half and kept them to nearly nothing.

Sadly the two quick games being part time killed is as we were shatter with 10 minutes left which allowed them in.

Lots of chances but most off target. Frustrating as it was a good perfomance. Even Preece admitted afterwards that they got out of jail with that.

Abysmal display, we have a superb playing surface yet hired Flowers who plays long ball nonsense and plays a team the new chairman who wants to pretend he's a football manager brought in. Not a happy evening and it could be a long season for us

Watched the stream and have to say we were very fortunate to get away with a point, as I posted before the game we are powder puff up front but it was a very good point from our point of view.

Went to the Celts last night- ok game, a draw was about right. Sheilds are big b*ggers- probly a hangover from their NPL days. Have always said that the physically biggest side gets out of that division. This div is more about pace, i reckon. We played reasonably & it could have been 3 all at the end. 5 pts after a relatively difficult start on paper - will take that.
Their entitled fans still seem to think they are still throwing money about and expect them to sail thru' another division. U would think the time it took to escape the NPL would have dampened expectations a little/added realism. Hasn't the chairman reined in the spending? Cant see them going up, based on this 90 (104!) mins.
Looks like rushall are the promoted side being 'found out'. Southprt are continuing with their dreadful form from the end of last season. Thought they were supposed to be hanging on until this summer for some large investment. Not really noticed much changes in their personnel, hence that run continuing...

Also- how come bishops S have had such a convenient fixture start to the season? Is this to placate them for their dreadful move 'norf'?? 2 home games and the aways* are about the nearest fixtures to them, in their first 4 matches?
*i hesitate to use the phrase 'derbies'...

Well that was 75 minutes of turgid negative borefest before 20 frantic minutes.

First half was drab, just two sides teasing having a go and never commuting and this creating next to nothing, but Curzon grabbed the lead through a great 25 yard free kick……harsh on rushall but way it goes.

Second half curzon decided the approach of no strikers at all would be great and rushall finally had a go, dominated and deservedly levelled, could easily have got another before FINALLY curzon decided ‘hey we are at home suppose we may put some prople up front ‘

Last 20 minutes we created a lot and could have won it but we deserve to flog the game for being so hideously negative for so long in the game
That's lakeland-ball at this level. Once we went up from the NPL he went from 3-4-3 to 5-4-1 very quickly.

We played poorly last night but got the three points which isn’t a bad trait to have, to start with 7 out of 9 is fantastic. We have Cowley and Mendes to come back in, should both be in Saturday so the only absentee is Andy Williams, who will probably be back in 2 months. We have shown flashes that we will be in and around the play offs - it’s a whole new squad and the players are still gelling so to be picking the points up while we are still a work in progress could be the difference come May. There’s a buzz and an excitement around Edgar Street with Caddis getting fans onside.

Rushall will surprise a few, knocked it round nicely and looked threatening until the final third - they lack real creativity and penetration. Despite controlling the game, they didn’t create a clear cut opportunity and didn’t look like scoring.

Last night we had 5 summer signings start for us, with another 2 on the bench. They all seem to have fit right in with the underperforming players we already have. I've seen all 3 of our matches so far this season, and we've been woeful in each one, actually worse than the back end of last season. If Liam Watson wasn't on the board he would have been sacked. If our chairman actually bothered going to games any more he would see how bad we are and how unhappy fans are, but he's not interested because Watson is his mate. The club know the majority of the fans want him out of the manager's job now, but they just don't care.

We had some investment from The Big Help Project, but it seems to be for community projects. The investment suggested by our board / manager at the end of last season funnily enough has not materialised. I wouldn't trust us to spend it wisely even if we did.

Southport manager gone………but not gone.

Director only and new man to be appointed but previous guy is still at club.

Question of course is will his influence still linger over the new manager.

That is the worry, that he tries to meddle in team issues. He's already done good work as a director in terms of the commercial side and structure of the club, and he does have a remarkable record of player recruitment and selling players on. If he's involved with the latter I'd like it to be only if whoever our new manager is is in full agreement with his recommendations, otherwise he should stick to thr former.

Who do you fancy next?

Milligan was the one who immediately came to my mind that could fit? Think he applied for our job last year.
