Clearly nobody could be bothered making a thread for this one... We might sneak a draw :ohn:

Based on how the first half has gone, my analysis says we will win this one 3-0.

You only asked if I was there? I was awaiting further questions.

Thought both sides were poor first half. Second half we were the better side. Goal came from a nothing free kick that was given around the centre circle. We hit the bar, and had some decent chances second half and would definitely say we deserved at least a draw, but we have no luck at the moment, combined with us being pretty awful in other games too.

Did we do anything positive at all or was it all Rochdale?

Not too sure how you think you were better second half? You had couple of chances but means nothing if they're off target. Overall thought we controlled the tempo in the second half and you never forced Eastwood into a meaningful save. We were poor first half, much improved second half when change of formation happened. Johnson looked good on debut and players still forming a relationship with each other.

1st half Rochdale shaded it but had no cutting edge. Comically bad dive from Rochdale's no.27 in the 1st half as well.

2nd half we were the better team with the changes in midfield making the difference. But we missed chances or the final ball was slightly off when it mattered. One obvious example was when Wes Thomas was clean through and if he had tried an early toe punt rather than attempting to control it, and falling over so not getting a shot away, we'd have been leading far earlier.

Marvin Johnson caused Dale's defence plenty of problems and put in 3 good crosses. He was gutted at missing that chance right at the end though and I'm not sure Dunks taking the mickey helped.)

Logan got lucky with his clearances today, one where if it had spun off the challenge in any other direction would have left Johnson with an open goal. Another 2 or 3 only just missed Oxford players who were trying to charge it down although with 1 he nearly hit Ryan Taylor who wasn't even looking at the ball. Also, one bloke behind us reckoned Logan looked like Matt Lucas.

Funny how differently you see the game from our lot. We think we deserved to win it from our second half display. We had more chances too, didn't hit the target enough though. Hit the bar and missed from a few yards out. Better than we have been and 1-0 to us wouldn't have flattered us today. Deserved at very least a draw. But we don't know where the net is, oh and what's a clean sheet?

Well seeing as at half time you said basing it on how it was panning out etc, 3-0 to you, I kinda guessed you were there. Silly me :err:.

I get what you are saying but you didn't trouble our keeper. We had less shots but still troubled your keeper more. At no point in that second half did I feel we were going to lose the match let alone concede a goal

Overall however it was a very poor game which was made up for by a late winner which probably makes me biased about being better second half. Better of two poor teams who no doubt will both improve greatly throughout the season. Would a draw have been a fair result yes it would but that's football for you.

So when we hit the bar from a corner it wasn't nearly in? And when Vincentis shot looked destined to trickle into the net you weren't even a little concerned you were about to concede? Not quite sure I believe that one. Not looking for an argument just want your insight on those two occasions.

From open play I would say no I wasn't. Set pieces is different story of course but cross bar isn't on target so no worries for the Oxford boys :bg:

Thought Rochdale deserved a point, Jamie Allen really ran the game for them.

From where we saw the game, it wasn't clear you hit the woodwork so only found out after the game on the radio. Vincenti's effort caused some concern but I actually have confidence in our keeper, Simon Eastwood so that helped.

Keith Hill needs to adapt his tactics to counter the opposition in the game. We did so at halftime and it changed the balance of the game, stopping your midfield control you had in the 1st half. Yet he didn't change much or appear to do so anyway.
