Absolute stroll in the park of a friendly, Alfreton had very little to offer. McGoldrick apart from scoring a cracker looks a bit lost to me, he's playing very deep. Not sure we've sorted out where we're going to play him.
Worryingly we had a few players missing, hopefully just resting up some tired legs rather than injuries.

Pretty much an u21 team plus Demetriou and Conney who played 45 mins, beat Runcorn Linnets 3-0 Kenpster-Down, Woodcock and Evans with goals.

Think the ones who didn’t play tonight are playing 90 on Saturday.

ooh you and chesterfield put 5 past them and we only managed 4 :ffs:

Apparently they were tripe against us also, pre season results really don’t mean too much but they’ve not won 1 game yet, not ideal for confidence.

Paul Mullin subbed off after 20 mins vs. Man United kids after a nasty clash with the keeper

Walked off with gas and air and looked completely out of it. Possible concussion or broken ribs. Awful challenge from the keeper.

If he's out for any longer then a month we'll have to get the check book out, shadow of the team without him

Edit - Get the book out, Parky says Mullin's got a small lung puncture/broken ribs.

Won 3-1
United had somebody sent off harshly, think the ref knew he should of sent the keeper off in the first so just even the decisions up

The least United could do is loan us Rashford for a few months.

Nice to get a win but that's about the worst player we could have had injured. FFS

Looking at 6-8 weeks out. Possibly won't be able to fly back to the UK for a week or 2.
Get somebody in. Dalby and Palmer together doesn't work. Waters doesn't look near the level to me but to he fair he's played about 20mins of competitive football for us

6 to 8? That would be lucky. Rib minimum healing is 6 plus bruising and lung recovery and return to match fit. All in 3 months easy.

I hope we've got US medical insurance.

I agree, we had a player with a similar issue last season and it was 3 months, the halloween and bonfire night stuff will be out by the time he plays again if it’s his rib.

The big question is though, did we play 32221 or 433

This was my take. I also think it's very reminiscent of last pre season where the poor man's Pep never played his best team

I think we will essentially have the same line up against Chesterfield with McGoldrick in for Ruben against Sutton

The tell on Mullin will be if Wrexham being in another striker.

Think they signed Billy Waters when Mullin had a small lay off

Currently equidistance from Los Angles and San Diego. Just couldn't bring myself to watch Wrexham out here, it's too warm and sunny for football right now. Obviously would have made the effort if the TOWN were playing in California.

We were supposedly in for a striker anyway, it'll just be a bit more urgent now. I can't see us using Waters as a regular starter for the next 3 months.

That Man United team was weaker than the kids team they put out in the pizza trophy. Just saying… that and Mullin getting crocked, it’s all good material for The Underdogs: Season 3 though.

Waters was okay for us in League 2, but extremely wasteful in front of goal - can’t see them relying on him for the best part of half a season.

Yes I don't think anyone is under the impression we beat Man Uniteds first team.

We played a Chelsea side of mostly first team players and the difference between the levels is stark.

Big question indeed.

Either way one thing I do know is that we play really really nice football on the deck.

Which L2 sides that still remain in this division play really really nice football on the deck?

Parkinson is such a prick, his comments on that young ‘keeper are outrageous. Just saw the clip of it and it’s obviously a complete accident that he’s trying to pull out of.

Hope Mullin’s alright and back quick though, looking forward to him vs Macca again.

Nathan Bishop is a great lad aswell, had a good year at the Stags no way he did anything with any intent. Parkinson is a absolute reprobate.
