Hard to disagree with that. You could easily have been a couple goals up before we scored on another day, decent team Fleetwood have. We were on the end of a smash and grab this time last week so I know how you’re feeling about today, it’s frustrating. Not many teams will come and beat you on your own turf, especially when you see some of the players you have in that starting 11, some very good League 1 players in there. We’ve won at Highbury on the past three consecutive occasions now, definitely a happy hunting ground for us.
Cheers mate, I don't want you becoming too fond of Highbury though ! Charlton away next week, 2 suspensions to contend with, injuries and illnesses to other players so easy win on the cards lol

Been the story of every defeat so far - in the game, not massively outplayed, but never likely to score.

I get it must be frustrating. All will seem better when that win does come. Have seen your managers interview and really like his honesty. Very DC-like his comments and didn't pull any punches especially on the penalty incident quite rightly. Wouldn't want to be Mellish on that journey home.

Seen highlights, it’s a poor throw all be it keeper should do better there!

Garrity was unlucky as that second goal was onside. They’re lads in the 6 yard box and he’s just on the line.

Good to see Edmondson and Butts get a great reception.

First home game of the season, interesting to see the Hamil far busier than the Bycars ever was which helps the atmosphere, notice they are cramming fans into the smaller sections in the Bycars depending how many are sold so was surprised 700 plus Carlisle fans there as it looked a real small section! Certainly helps us dominate the atmosphere as the home side rather than give away teams the best stand like the past!

Does mean virtually no mingling with away fans in Tommies or on the Hamil now which is weird.

Big Screen is really good, absolutely massive and good to have the graphics and stuff!

Trying the Hamil Tuesday!

I know we've got a reputation for going on about officials, but where did they get those bunch of jokers from? I think the only decision the ref got right was the penalty.

First half, 2 of their players ran into each other and he gave them a free kick. 2 or 3 times our players got hacked down and even the Carlisle players stopped for a free kick. 2 disallowed goals by the linesman...not sure of the first one but the second one isn't even close! Plus the player playing Garrity on is closest to the linesman. It's an easy decision.

Lino near the Paddock looked half asleep!

The one when they took each other out was when Mitch was about to go clean through wasn’t it?

First pen shout looked a big one just didn’t seem to have any consistency at all at times.

I forgot about that. Looked a clear foul first half. The assessor must be thinking of demoting him.

As we seemingly never play Saturday at 3 any longer and had a spare day, I went to Stevenage Portsmouth. 0-0 so not the best use of a Saturday most likely but found it reasonably entertaining.

Bit of contrast of styles, Stevenage very direct looking to play balls down into the channels at every opportunity and hassle and Harry in the press from there. Portsmouth much more willing to build up slowly especially through the wide areas where they had some joy especially first half. Got into good positions but struggled for the quality on the final ball mostly. Both sides had a decent a chance each I felt but probably Stevenage just shaded the better quality of chances very very slightly. But overall felt the draw was fair and nothing overly clear cut really from either. Competitive game wjth some strong challenges and Portsmouth fans providing a decent atmosphere so was still enjoyable despite overall lack of quality.

Don’t think either set of fans were very happy with the ref but felt overall he was fine. Can think of maybe one free kick Portsmouth should have had but didn’t get, the rest of the contentious stuff that seemed to cause consternation were your 50/50 type things that no one is happy with. Reds looked about right to me too, sliding challenge from both players, the Portsmouth player had a little dig at the Stevenage player who then reacted. Both going probably right then.

Pompey fans very frustrated coming out of the ground, was disappointed in them - was hoping to see something of Bishop but he was largely peripheral as the service wasn’t great

Expected Bristol Rovers to be doing better. I have them tipped as top 6 and the fans on here seem very positive. Early days of course but you'd think Barton might be under a bit of pressure if they remain in the bottom half after 10 games.

So glad I decided to go to Victorious Festival as it sounded like the same old boring shit we've been subjected to for much of our tenure in League One. 9 points from our first five games that didn't look too tricky on paper isn't good enough, especially considering how much tougher September looks.

You never know, you’re not a million miles off. Anyone who watched today it wasn’t as though we were miles better than you though our play in the final third was probably more threatening (feels very weird saying that). Think it’ll hinge on your home form.

Exactly how all our games have been so far. Apart from Oxford obviously who would have pumped us 6-0 if the grass was greener and the moon was hexagonal.

I expected Port Vale to beat us, so betted accordingly, but was confident it would only be by the odd goal.

We’re not miles off, and I think if we push the boat out for a better quality number 9 before deadline day, we could stay up.

On Carlisle I thought they looked a league two team in league one,
do you know what I’ll take that. That’s progress, because last time we played you we looked like a conference north team.

Fine margins again or have your forwards managed to hit a barn door?

You’ve come a long way in a short time to be fair, but what I meant is like us last year it was a lot of league two players in a league one outfit so it’s about upgrading them as you go along.

Overall the gap isn’t massive in that you can compete but need to add a couple to have that key quality.

I hope you stay up, it’s a good club, decent fan base and not thrown big money at it. Nice interview with Edmondson on YouTube too.

Your manager was furious mind, that was like a DC interview under us, all be it digging out individual players publicly can backfire I guess.

Yep don’t disagree with that, especially as the new owners won’t feel the same loyalty to Barton as the previous majority owner (who still has 45%).

It started well but we’re too obsessed with passing it into the goal and death by 1000 cuts, rather than having a pop at goal. Lord knows we have the quality to do so, but for some reason we freak out in the final third and would rather keep possession than actually try to score.

Yesterday was a classic infuriating example. We have a freekick just outside, but on the right of the box. Whip it in right? No. We pass it forwards, backwards and in pretty triangles only to get into a position by the corner flag to whip it in, but we’re closed down and eventually go back to the GK and start again.

2 minutes later Wycombe get the same freekick, first time they’re been in our half. Ball whipped in, free header and 1-0

Fully deserved 3pts for Orient who were much better than us, Played good football to, happe being the standout for me.

We was as poor as we was for much of last season, onto the next.

I just don't see how this possession for possession sake is going to work at this level. If you're Man City, who have the players with ability to do it and then turn it into something, then fine. But these are league 1 players and with the best will in the world, even the better players won't be good enough to implement it.

Mandroiu's nutmeg flick for our second yesterday looks better every time you watch it!

Didn't even show it on the EFL Show last night, it was the best bit of the match!

That show is awful, we barely got a mention as it was all about Reading!

Anyone remember how long ITV had the rights for? Seriously I hope when they are next up they give them to anyone but them. Their coverage of the EFL has always been dreadful.

It is dreadful. I quite enjoyed a bit of analysis but now they can't get through the goals fast enough!

I think ITV Sport in general is in decline. I dont think they have England (mens) games anymore, and they aren't showing as much cycling as they used to (its niche but they no longer seem to show La Vuelta)

they do show paris nice and the dauphine highlights which is something they didn't do 10 years ago. Probably to create a narrative for the tour.

Yeah i was shocked by how powder puff your team was. The header aside it was tame efforts from distance and your side seemed determine to play it slow and backwards at a snails pace. Not sure if you have a lot of injuries etc but imagine your manager must be starting to come under pressure with that sort of performance. I was staggered to hear him say he thought you looked the more likely side to win it.

Always a sign of a manager under pressure when they come out with deluded takes in the post match interviews. Have to say that, in contrast, Mark Bonner’s was absolutely first class.

And even more damning when the Cheltenham fans are all over it saying that he must have been at a different game. Elliot needs results and fast.
