Club have announced we will play the reserves for remainder of season.

To be far they might be an improvement. Luton win .

Our fanbase are being proper dicks about this reserves statement. Every club does it when there's nothing to play for. We really do have some weird supporters.

Coming back from Newcastle specially just to see Hylton do his panto villain act and us to lose in a disgusting manner.

I bet you are right.
Its a little more complicated than that and I was being flippant. I expect any player the club have decided wont be kept for next season to no longer appear in the matchday squad, the 3 players coming back from long term injuries to be given a chance to prove their fitness and our youth players to be more prominent.

Despite having said to myself after Colchester that I wouldn't be going to anymore away games this season I have been drawn back in again and am going. Quite looking forward to it as have missed our previous trips to the hive for various other circumstances.

Be interesting to see who plays in goal today, got a feeling it will be Moore, let's pray he has settled in as no doubt he'll be being put under immense pressure by the likes of Akinde.

Hope we stick with our formation from last week, still wasn't exactly right I dont think but hope the infatuation with the diamond has finally ended.

The issue with this statement for me is the stupid spin that the club are trying to put on the last couple of months. Good news! Our crap form has given us the perfect opportunity to give some of the younger players a chance.

If it wasn't stupid enough just for that, we've been giving the younger players a chance anyway. Unless we're going down to the under 14's to give them a go.

Hopefully Pearson is fit enough to make his first start and Jack Taylor is back and we get to see Akinola and Bover in positions that suit them.

Probably the most jobsworth stewarding I've ever seen, it's like they are actively trying to cause trouble. Is Urban a steward?

We've been shit, if Akinde could finish we would be at least 2-0 down, laughably poor dribbles to the keeper from him.

Stewarding is bizarre here, almost actively trying to cause trouble for some reason. Really annoying when you're trying to watch the bloody game. It's just a flag for fuck sake!

Just don't hit them on the head with an inflatable shark and you will be fine

Nah, he's still shit. A goal against Barnet reserves doesn't change that.

Looking good for the playoffs now at least, happy days.

More than half the crowd Luton fans at an away game, first time that's happened since Luton's been back in the League I think, great support.

Was a joke Bosox!

Being fair to him, he has done alright then last 2. Was better than Ruddock today for instance IMO who will likely never get the same stick Lee has had.

Not to say he was that great though! In general terms we were not very good, some shocking finishing from Akinde let us off the hook to be fair.

Nonsensical stewarding in the first half, but some of the kids who can't handle their beer didn't help themselves. The flag incidents were just farcical. Looking for trouble that certainly wasn't there.

First half was pretty average to be honest; we had more of the bal but Barnet certainly had the better of the chances. Akinde missed a few glorious chances all day.

Second half wasn't much better but we nabed that important goal, which is all that matters at this stage of the season.

Stuart Moore was outstanding, which is a real relief and bonus.

A better performance from us but still nowhere good enough. Luton made far fewer mistakes than us and snapped up the chance that came when we failed to clear the ball which is why they're 5th and we're 16th. John Akinde really is playing with a lack of confidence.

Why is there a need to take the piss here?

To be honest with the stewards - yeah ours have a rep for heavy handedness and no doubt there's a bit of this here, but you can't say some kind of action wasn't invited on by the rowdy fans over in that stand. Standing bunched up at the back of the stand on the stairs is cause enough to get stewards involved, let alone anything else. From what I've heard, some fans 'pushed' (quoted for a reason!) a steward. If that's the case, it's deserved.

As for the game, much better performance but still not good enough. Luton had one shot on target all game and apart from a little bit of a head of steam in the second half after their goal, offered nothing. Stephens could've probably played that game while carrying the injury he's just got over, it was so easy for him! Hylton was kept quiet and didn't even get up to any antics, apart from a terrible dive attempt, which was quite disappointing on my behalf as we all know I'm lacking reasons to dislike the man :2thumb: Sheehan seemed to be giving a bit of needle out though, him and Akinde were having some very subtle digs at each other all game.

Clough showed why he was bought with a great performance at CB marking Hylton and JCR + Shomotum gave u a bit of unpredictability up front - they both need to release the ball faster though. Akinde had an absolute STINKER though - my fears that he's reverted back into the form that saw him turn into an ineffective journeyman (his pre-Alfreton days) are becoming much more established with every game. His finishing was woeful today and he looks absolutely bereft of confidence.

The whole stewards thing was some of the silliest stuff I have ever seen. Worrying that so many people are totally lacking in common sense, from both sides might I add but especially from people who are supposed to be in charge of crowd safety! Looked like the stewards wanted people to sit down, fair enough if they are standing in the aisle, not sure its that much of an issue if they are just at the back of the stand but there you go, and when they didn't the steward who seemed to be throwing his weight around through a wobbly and ordered some poor school leaver type to take down the 2 flags that someone had put up, out of one must assume be spite at not getting his own way as they were fine for the first 20/25 minutes of the game! Cue abuse for the poor kid who you could clearly see from the expression on his face thought it was all a bit silly.

Was funny to begin with when they put the flag back up but then some people down the front, both stewards and supporters, took it all a bit too personally, I mean come the fuck on its a flag! Whole thing would have been avoided if a bit of common sense had been deployed, what was trying to be achieved there bar antagonising people I really don't know.

Clearly some supervisor type was on a bit of an ego trip as a few of the other younger type looking boys and girls who were there where actually fairly affable from what I saw.

Sometimes I wonder if I am in the minority in actually just wanting to watch the bloody game at times as the whole of the second half of the 1st half was just taken up by what was essentially a bunch of bald men arguing over a comb.

Akinde has really not shown his best I dont think in either game against us, was in Cuthberts pocket in the reverse fixture and looked nothing more than a big lump, bull in a china shop type with no technique in this. Couldn't sort his feet out at all, all game it seemed.

Obviously because you've got a laughably large chip on your shoulder when it comes to Luton fans - just like the stewards (one in particular anyway) did yesterday.

Flag-gate was honest to god some of the worst stewarding I've ever seen, as TFCH says it was like the supervisor or whoever he was threw a hissy fit because he couldn't get people to sit down so tried to provoke an incident for no good reason. The explanation given for trying to take the first flag down was apparently because it had a poppy on it which is somehow now an offensive symbol? Fuck right off.

There's no need to even mention me though, is there. What's the point in bringing me up?

I've not even disagreed with anything said about the stewarding, HOWEVER there was a large group of Luton fans who were stood crammed in at the back standing on the steps etc. Regardless of how it was handled that gave the stewards the reason to step in. Don't act like dicks, don't get treated by one (or give shit stewards an opportunity to treat you like one).

Also, poppy's are treated as 'offensive' by some governing bodies (but again, agreement that it would be a jobsworth who would use that as an excuse). I think it's more likely that it was because it was draped over the advertising boards more than anything.
