Let's not be silly. It's a chip butty. And by default it comes in a teacake. Simple.

So what are actual teacakes called in Bradford?
A tea cake is called a tea cake, a tea cake with currants in is called a currant tea cake.

Genuinely this L2 forum is the solitary good thing about being in the basement division, some really good and funny folk about even if you all know nothing about what bread is called.

Well it’s much more fun talking about cobs than who’s going to outdo each other in football hah

This thread is reminding me of the Grimsby v Woking match thread from 2016 that descended into dozens of pages about random foods. :bg:

But neither of the two are cakes.

I imagine it causes equal confusion when Northerners come down here and order a sausage roll but instead end up with a sausage roll (sausage teacake if you will).

Large baps are my favourite.
See, I used to like large ones the best but I found that as I got older the larger ones that crossed my path tended to be less firm than the smaller baps which I just enjoyed a bit more to be honest.

There’s a debate to be had? You eat it with Haddock not cod, debate over.

Well there was that. But also do you eat it with a fork or your fingers. Or with salt and vinegar, gravy, curry sauce, mushy peas etc etc.

Seems fairly uncontroversial but some odd and deeply held opinions out there if memory serves.

One for the ages.

The Non League forum has always been the saving grace to being in that shit league. Some brilliant people..... also a load of massive weirdos.

Small baps with a large currant - or even better, glacé cherry - are more than acceptable.
