Julian Draxler tells German newspaper Bild he wants to leave Wolfsburg: "They promised me that I can leave when I have the opportunity."
Whoever sings Draxler (probably Arsenal) will have one very good player in their hands.

Today Wolfsburg's Manager Klaus Allofs denied that they had promised Draxler that he can leave after only one season at Wolfsburg.
Klaus Allofs is a very reliable man and very well respected so I don't think that he publicly lied today at the press conference
He said that after next Season there is an opting-out clause and he can leave for the sum of 75m Euro (exact the sum ManCity paid to Wolfsburg for deBruyne). But I doubt that without European competition this season in Wolfsburg that a club will pay this for Draxler (otoh you never know nowadays with PL Clubs :D ). So maybe Draxler is forcing this now, who knows?

In my opinion, bad deal, but not because Lukaku isn't worth 65 mil plus Remy, but because we have Diego Costa, Batshuayi, Remy, Loftus-Cheek, Traore, Solanke, Abraham, Brown, and Bamford all in that position. Do we really need another striker?

I say we wait for Arsenal to almost sign a big player and snatch him off them.

For 65 mil I'd rather buy players we actually need. Like a box-to-box midfielder, a center back, and two full backs.

City are doing some great business. Sterling's days are numbered it would seem.

Loftus Cheek isn't a striker.

There's only one there who's better than Lukaku.

We'll take him back for £5mil and a Co-op £3 meal deal for each of his 15 kids.

How do all of these City signings fall in line with the financial fair play thing? I'm no expert on it. To me £64mil for Jesus and Sane is inSane...

Are they? They still haven't addressed that defence unless I've missed it...

Spot on, they are buying in areas they are already ahead of the pack on - they need to sort out their defence as a priority. Spunking £50m on Stones won't make much of a difference this season either. They need a leader in the mould of a Kompany but one they can actually rely on. They could do with a keeper as well but they seem to be trying to address that one. In fact every position bar the attacking midfield needs work but they are focussing on the attacking midfield.

They've got midfielders and fullbacks for Pep to convert. Maybe they don't need to buy any actual defenders. Gonna be awesome watching Yaya run shit as a cb.

Sorry, jog shit as a cb.

Loftus-Cheek is a midfielder but I think that buying Lukaku when you have Diego Costa e Batshuayi hasn't sense.

I doubt it's true. I'd also say there is no chance we'd sell to Everton but if they offer enough money we'd be stupid not to offload him. The guy will barely be used next season, Klopp has made that fairly clear. However, given that Everton apparently have £100m+ to spend (although we've yet to see evidence of that) and given that they likely want Benteke as a Lukaku replacement if he goes back to Chelsea, I'd want us to hold out for at least what we bought him for.

#AFC interested in signing Valencia defender Mustafi. No bid yet + others inc #CFC keen. Also want a striker but not pursuing Mahrez/Draxler

Breathe easy JimJams. :hesk:

As suspected we're not in for a winger. A striker and a defender are definitely more pressing concerns so no surprises there. We need to get a bloody move on though.

They have plenty of time to address the defence issue.

They've tried.

Laporte and Bonucci both said thanks but not thanks. They'll probably end up panicking and getting bled by Everton for Stones for in the region of £50 million. Guardiola already talking about pushing people like Fernandinho and Fernando back to centre half which would be true to form going off what he did at Barcelona and Bayern.

Yeah I don't think he really gives too much of a shit about centrebacks. Might suit Fernando down to the ground.

Looks like Flanagan is set to join Burnley on season long loan. Good move for both parties.

Brannagan to Wigan on loan - Wigan have also agreed to 75% playing clause.

Laporte would have been the perfect defensive signing for a Guardiola side so I'm glad he changed his mind about joining them.

Who is your first choice LB? If it's Moreno I'd rather use Flanagan there than him.

Moreno atm but I can see Milner taking his position. Flanagan before injury was very good, now not sure. Definitely need a new proper LB though.
