Our young, intrepid Gas cavaliers venture into the Lion's Den ( sorry) for a welcome return to league action. I expect a tough game. Despite Millwall having had an average start they've got some dangerous players.
2-1 Gas victory. Taylor twice to keep us in the playoff places and pressurising the top two.

Millwall are flying at the moment. They're probably the most in form side in L1 with 6 wins from their last 7 games. If they win today and pick up 3 points from their game in hand they'd be above Rovers and in the play off's so I'm expecting a very tough match.

I'd be more than happy wioth a point but for some reason I don't have a good feeling about this one. Milwall 3-1 Rovers. Hope I'm wrong.

Fancy this game as a decent BTTS bet so have stuck a few quid on it.

Got a feeling we'll get a tonking here, although we're playing well, we are prone to defensive and goalkeeping errors and with Millwalls attack, they will punish us.

I'd happly take a draw here

I think Millwall will win easily against a relatively poor Rovers side who have done well in the early part of the season, but are generally punching above their weight.

No Morison, so not confident at all. He pretty much carries us.

Being a Peterborough fan you would know all about punching.

Feel we'll come away with a win here. Wall have only picked up 9 points from their last 8 league games whereas we've picked up 16, we've scored more and conceded less. Would be happy with a draw but a win isn't out of the question.

Hartley at the back gives me confidence and he's also a threat from corners, really like the starting XI with the exception of Harrision who has been poor all season. At-least Gaffney offers something to the team if he doesn't score.

*Obviously the 14 minute red card has changed all this.

Well the early red threw all predictions out of the window here I guess.

Was the sending off another of the 'footballing injustices' that Rovers fans are so fond of claiming was the reason for defeat every time their 'young cavaliers' lose?

Theyve benefited from about 5 red cards in their favour this season, so its about time one went the other way.

May have been against 10 men, but 4-0 is a rout whatever the circumstances and we maybe should have had more.

Finally starting to come into a bit of form. Really happy for Harry Smith, too: 3 goals in two professional games so far. Six homegrown players in the starting XI, too.

Joke of a red though. Millwall were fantastically clinical, but it's always a possibility that the game could have been completely different but for the early red that spoiled what was shaping up to be a great game.

Was it a 'footballing injustice' by any chance?

Was a ridiculously harsh red card, think it was a highly questionable foul tbh. Was a good game before and after, us making the clearer chances but Bristol looking like a threat from range.

The difference was debutant smith, who caused a lot of issues with his height. Very promising start from the big man.

Rovers looked decent, but made a few mistakes at the back which made defending with ten men impossible.

Sounded like we were given a bit of a shellacking today. It happens.

Sending off was the correct decision, last defender pushed over O'Brien as he got goal side of him.

Of course as a Millwall fan you will say it was and I, as a Rovers fan, will say it wasn't. But I'm sure they made changes to the rules which meant that that sort of foul could no longer be a red. Anyway, your player clearly throws himself to the floor before ours even puts his arm on him (which was minimal anyway).

There's a new ruling that 'last man fouls' that result in a penalty are now NOT an automatic red card if the referee deems the player has made a genuine attempt for the ball. If the last man just shoves someone over or clears them out, it's still a red.

Whether we had 10 or 11 men we got beat by the better team. Possibly it would have been closer with 11 but we were lucky to escape with only 4 as Roos made some important saves. What we need to do now forget this result and concentrate on the next game versus MK. One bad result doesn't make us a bad team overnight.
Well played Millwall.

The red is a tough one, I'm not convinced it is one that early in the game. Think I'm disappointed with it cos it ruined what was until then a balanced game, and he's changed his mind between the foul and giving the card.

Millwall definitely deserved the win having said that, it was one of those days for us. Everything that could go wrong did, and Millwall were clinical - think they'll be in and around the top 2 come the end for sure.

As for us, we need to bounce back if we want to stay in the top half, its getting really tight now. Two home games now, fancy us to get a result or two against MK and Charlton.

Like to think I'm taking a dispassionate view there, you see the same result in that situation time and time again. Defenders have to learn to trust the keeper to save as any tackle or challenge that is a little off results in 70 odd mins of 10 men. Later in the game, of course make the challenge.

One other point, the Ref looked about to blow up for a Penalty in the build up to our 2nd goal for the shirt pulling on Gregory, but the layoff and goal from Williams saved him for having to give it.

Having seen the highlights it looks a bit harsh, but you're definitely inviting the ref to do what he did. As soon as he blows for the free kick he has to send him off.
