Only just realised that Slew up front for Maldon is the same lad we signed at a service station on the way down for a midweek game at Leyton Orient two years ago.

No Jam for Maldon.
They looked miles better than a Step 4 team.

This is the most obvious cup run going for Newport. Amond scoring, no doubt a home third round tie against Premier League opposition, which will go to a replay.

By the way, I wonder how they counted the attendance for that game. Looks like you could've vaulted a hedge and got in for free.

Can see us making a decent attempt tomorrow.
Controlling large parts of the game, our setup suits league 2. But ultimately we make national league mistakes

Northampton 3-1 Notts

Newport cup runs over the last few years have probably kept them in the league. I still cant believe we didn't beat them last year. Just as Ricketts had been tapped up by Slops too. The turning point.

Got to feel for Altrincham, desperately unlucky not to take Portsmouth to a replay. 94th minute winner, ouch!

Cup run over for K's after a 2-0 defeat against Fylde, ultimately the gap in divisions proved a bit too much for us & was much more evident than the previous round against Macclesfield's youth team. Was a good cup run while it lasted & has made a fair wedge of cash for the club.

Extremely proud of the team and the fans who outsung the home crowd for 93 mins, as the stats show we dominated the game for long periods, had a clear pen denied and lost to a 94th minute goal when only 3 mins of injury time was due? Apparently it was the first time Pompey fans stayed and applauded the away team off the pitch. Must say Portsmouth were fanatastic hosts in every respect and I hope they do well this year.
We can concentrate on the league now:box:

2 down at Exeter, Killip questionable for another goal. This’ll keep happening until the earth stops turning.

I've turned the commentary off, been all over us.

The goals are being shown on BBC, he needs to come off his line for the first, he head's it in from 6 yards out unmarked.

Another long range lob against us. Peterborough’s been pretty poor apart from that. Too many of their players faking injuries against a non-league team is really sad

Same team for us every week, same substitutions and same result.
Ardley has to go.

Decent turn around for us, didn't see that coming at half time.

Can't wait to draw Portsmouth away in Round 3.

Well done Pools. Exeter are a very good L2 side and a tough place to go to, as all U's fans know all to well by now, and so to come back from two goals down is impressive. Good job by Boston as well and it's irrelevant that Rochdale are on a poor run at the moment. They're still a L1 side and the difference between L1 and the National North is massive.

Echo what others have said about Maldon: they don't look like a step 4 side at all. I'd like to congratulate Kingstonian as well. I watched their game and I was impressed by the way they move the ball around, totally unlike any other step 3 side I've watched before.

Standard stuff from us. Dismal for an hour, great for the last half an hour when we had no choice but to abandon whatever Ardley's plan was supposed to be and just try and score. Probably had the chances to draw it 3-3 in the end.

It's taken me all week to get over the cup game last Monday night, that plus the site not working.

We managed to pull off probably our club's greatest ever comeback and yes it was brilliant to be there and experience it.

But to ignore the first 70 odd minutes would be a huge slight on Solihull.
They were hugely impressive with their pressing us into mistakes and took their chances as well as any league 1 team I've seen this season.

The substitutions we made killed them because all 3 made a huge difference to the game.
We started to get Ogbene into good crossing positions by winning the ball back in Solihull's half.

Ladapo's goal seemed like a consolation when it went in but when Ickie's goal went in you could see the Solihull player's confidence visibly drain away.
The third was inevitable and the fourth a bonus for the Millers fans who actually stuck by the team when we were 3 0 down against a non-league team on live TV.

I did see a dozen or so leave when their third goal went in but that serves them right.
Don't leave until it's over, even if it's to give credit to the opposition.

Solihull were brilliant for 3/4 of the game and if they play like that for the rest of the season they will deserve promotion and I hope they get it.

It was all a bit surreal TBH.
1 down in 6 minutes to a great strike, 2 0 in eight minutes to a goal where 5 of their players looked miles offside, 3 0 when we were starting to control the game for the first time.
It was all so flat and numbing.
After that it was one of those "I was there moments"
