We’ve got:
Wigan (a)
Peterborough (h)
Northampton (h)
Shrewsbury (a)
Burton (a)
I was looking at our home games before yesterday’s game - Stevenage, Boro, Northampton, Orient and Charlton are all pretty close, then we have Birmingham and Wrexham who are going for promotion. Piece of cake…..!
Our game was awful. Seriously bad. And the fact Stevenage were terrible yet way better than us was depressing.
Honestly that was one of the worst games of football I’ve ever seen, no exaggeration.
The general consensus on our message board is we can’t understand how the first goal was given. It was a definite foul on the keeper. We got a massive break there.
Both were reds as you say. I don’t know what Hepburn-Murphy was thinking of with that. Gibbons’ challenge was just one of those...
I think the Conference format is good but as you say it only works because only one goes up automatically so ultimately only brings down to 7th into contention. I do like the notion of giving the higher ranked team home advantage and would agree with that rather than two legs for the play offs.
It’s two legs, the traditional style. The conference format hasn’t been enacted into the EFL yet, probably because it would bring 9th into contention in League 2 which seems wrong.
Mansfield will be fine. When teams below are averaging less than a point a game and you’re already nine clear than you don’t have too much to worry about. Of course if Mansfield fail to win any of their next 10 games then that changes but I think even the most negative fan would be surprised at...
We’re hoping for a new manager bounce. Being more awkward to play against should happen but I wouldn’t expect a huge impact overnight - it’s a fundamental style shift. We need to win and I feel the only way we’re going to achieve that is through a huge effort from every player and riding our luck.
