Stickied Transfer Rumours & Confirmed Deals Thread 2024/25

West Brom supposedly want Will Keane. I'd want a good fee for him if it's legit. 13 goals last season, 12 for Wigan the season before, often not playing as an out & out striker.

Stickied Transfer Rumours & Confirmed Deals Thread 2024/25

Seems everyone is going abroad this year, more talent at cheaper prices than League One. It'll end up with the best L1 players just running their contracts down and even less money filtering into that league.

    2024-25 Championship Match Day Thread

Luton at home on Saturday, They seem like they're suffering from a relegation hangover a bit. No idea how we will set up, the fans want a back 4 but recruitment has been driven towards 3-5-2. With only 3 or 4 days with the players, I can't see Heckingbottom trying to implement too many new...

Stickied Transfer Rumours & Confirmed Deals Thread 2024/25

Sounds like Heckingbottom will be looking to add a couple to the squad. Loans I imagine. A CB is 100% needed but we also lack a proper target man in the squad with Ched Evans no longer an option.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

Did well at Barnsley, getting them promoted then keeping them up (14th) before being poached by Leeds where he was sacked after 16 games. We're not demanding exciting football, just watchable football that has basic patterns of play.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

Paul Heckingbottom it is. Not officially announced but he'll be taking training tomorrow morning. Stuart McCall will come in as his assistant. Peter Murphy, Ched Evans, and Mike Pollitt staying on as coaches. Good to get it resolved quickly so we're in better shape for the Luton game on...

    National League 2024/25

He's gone. A big part of Ryan Lowe's rancid regime and we're well rid. Walked out after re-using Lowe's tactics and serving up dross at Swansea. Paul Heckingbottom looks to be the big favourite right now.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

I'd imagine potential options are much more limited two games into the season, and it seems the club are reluctant to pay big compensation for someone. It'll be Heckingbottom I guess. Not my choice but he won promotion to the Prem in 22-23, so we could do much, much worse.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

This morning it seems like it's between three. Barry-Murphy, Heckingbottom, and another. Heckingbottom seems a safe appointment, but extremely boring.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

Brian Barry-Murphy seems much more likely. Maybe even announced tomorrow. A couple of City loans wouldn't be unwelcome.

    17th-18th August Fixtures

Evatt has no plan B and can't break down teams at home. Whenever I see them it's a similar story, spells of dominance but no cutting edge. Bolton need to move on from him this season, they have a strong squad that he will waste. Revan for Wrexham was very good. That Adeboyejo who came on for...

    National League 2024/25

Fair enough, I guess he'd need an old head as an assistant if it happens.

    National League 2024/25

What did you think of Barry-Murphy when he was your manager? Much potential there? He's favourite to be our next manager, 25 years after we initially brought him over from Ireland as a young player.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2022/23

The generally reliable ITK guy on PNE Online seems to think we'll have someone in by Tuesday and Alex Neil is now out of the running. Everything points towards Brian Barry-Murphy or Scott Lindsey at Crawley right now, but it could be someone completely left-field that hasn't been discussed...

What's all this about Scott Lindsey going 'AWOL'? FFS.

We need someone in this week, we're rudderless right now.

    2024-25 Championship Match Day Thread

We brought him over from Cork originally, didn't make the grade at this level. League Two and Bury/Rochdale was obviously his level. Seems a very good coach but he'd be a gamble, wouldn't be totally averse to him though.

    2024-25 Championship Match Day Thread

I think I'm open to Alex Neil coming back. We were great to watch when he got us to 7th, but he had all of his best players sold and he just lost the will. David Wagner would be my first choice but not sure if he'd be interested. I wouldn't be upset with Heckingbottom. It's not necessarily...

    2024-25 Championship Match Day Thread

Mike Marsh has just continued using Lowe's exact tactics and setup. Unsurprisingly getting the same results. He's left the club now. Hopefully the rest of Lowe's backroom staff follow. Can't remember the last time we got a result at Swansea.

Absolute anomaly over a short period of time. I'm not confident he'll last the season this time round.
