Match discussion here, it's an anyone can beat anyone kind of division so no idea how this will go.

I'd wanted to make a thread title like this, it's a shame we're not playing Yeovil who are even closer to relegation, have lost the same number of games as us and conceded even fewer.

Got tomorrow first from our perspective but set to have two strikers in this week so might boost the chances.

Hard to call this as we are probably better without Pope in terms of not hoofing it so getting on the deck.

Home form needs to improve hopefully Saturdays first win since November is a boost to kick start us again.

Hard to call our games at the moment, but we seem better away from home where its possibly more relaxed. Hard to say who will play, but Pope will be out for sure. The question is will Miller play, who had a good game at Crawley, or will it be one of the new signings?

Either way, it would be great to add another 3pts and gain escape velocity, but our record against Carlisle isn't great recently.

Got to say i dread home games, the amount of spankings we have had is ridiculous.
I went to the away game where we were equally awful and Joyce forgot he had left Carlisle as he passed more to them than ourselves !

I'd definitely take a draw which is ludicrous to say, but given the run Carlisle are on it would nudge us nearer to our aim for the season ( yet again ) of survival.

As for the Vale team, depends which names Aspin pulls out of his hat that he uses for team selection.

Half expected this to be moved due to Lard being at home, Carlisle and Preston on same train ?

1-3 ....3983 crowd

Do they normally move them? I'd assumed they'd treat Stoke and Vale the same as any other two teams from the same city, even though you could argue they're from different towns that just sort of coalesced. Ourselves and Preston on the same train is probably fairly common since there are few away games you can get to from Carlisle that don't require traveling through Preston but it's not a big rivalry, just the same as you'd get with any two teams from the north-west, Blackpool/Oldham, Tranmere/Burnley, Crewe/Wigan etc. likelihood for banter, only a small likelihood for that to turn nasty.

They used to move games but starting last season trialled it if both fixtures were low risk for the first time in 40 years and have kept both at the same time.

I keep forgetting that Port Vale are in this division.

But now that I've said this, I probably won't forget about them after Saturday afternoon. lol

We've had a few clashes recently but the likes of Stevenage, Crawley.
Not sure on away numbers but just had inkling this one may of been moved by the old bill. Reckon Preston have 1300, Carlisle 500 ish ?

Usually Staffs old bill have coped with 38 Stevenage fans of which 4 came on train !!

Wigan can still fuck off for the shite refereeing decisions we got against us in both games in 2002-03. I'm not bitter at all... :lac:

Port Vale were always that team, whenever trying to do some football club names thing, name all 92 league clubs or somesuch, I just could not for the life of me remember. Peterborough are another.

Which of the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs, is the only club NOT to have a vowel in the first five letters of its name?

Without looking!

I don’t have that issue obviously but mine are usually Reading!

Everyone knows that one.

Which is the only one of the 92 to have all five vowels (A,E,I,O,U) in its name.

It was Hartlepool United but they're not in the football league anymore, dummy.
