My own football season only finishes this up coming Saturday, we are in the div 3 playoff final. So if we win I will be on here linking myself with every managers job going and talking about 'when I managed a side to promotion'. If we lose I will either disappear quicker than a Birmingham fan when it's time to buy a round, or hang myself…

other than that my plans are to finally complete my teaching qualification and to spend the summer playing on the sega saturn (that isn't a joke btw)

I fucking hate this part of the season though, I have been trying to force myself to adopt a MLS side just so I have someone to watch/try and care about.

Our summer is quite exciting, yet uncertain. Absolutely no clue what will have happened come August, will be interesting to follow as it rolls out.

We name the teams next week I think, all that's been announced so far is that we have a training camp in a town just south of Paris and plan on playing some of the local opposition. Would be nice if we could manage a friendly vs PSG but I very much doubt we could.
Keep me posted on that one. I don't know where I'll be in July but I am currently in Paris.

Only just announced it but we play:

FC Chambly on the 8th July
Paris FC on the 10th July

Know much about them? I certainly dont.

Just came back from a weekend in Newcastle, I'm going to Palma Nova next Thursday for a week in the sun. Off to Berlin next month along with a couple days at Edgbaston for the Ashes.

Plus I play Saturday and Sunday cricket... So I'm pretty busy this summer!

Only just announced it but we play:

FC Chambly on the 8th July
Paris FC on the 10th July

Know much about them? I certainly dont.
Chambly play in the 3rd tier (the equivalent of the National League in England ie the last non-regionalized league) and narrowly avoided relegation to non-league last season (in this division, the bottom 4 go down and Chambly finished 5th bottom). I don't think it would be easy to get to Chambly as it's a bit in middle of nowhere quite far from Paris (50km).
Paris FC finished 2nd of the 3rd tier and got promoted to Ligue 2 (and full pro football) for the first time in 17 years. I'm looking forward to their return and will attend a few games this season. I may go to that game but it's on a Friday at 4 (3PM)! Not great when you're starting a new job the previous week!

Fancy making the trip down south? Looks a lot of trouble considering the amount of midweeks games you lower league fans have...

Actually both those games will be played at Clairefontaine, the French Academy, which is right next to my home. All the more infuriating what with the early kick-off time.

Cheers, I might be wrong but I read somewhere that we were going to be playing them both at the same venue, a training complex just south of Paris. Also I would like to go but we've only released something like 250 tickets, and advised anyone not to go if they don't have a ticket. Last time we went to mainland Europe for some friendly games there was a lot of trouble with a game we had in Belgium (about 5 years ago now mind) so I think the club are playing it cautiously and don't want many to travel.

EDIT: never mind just read the 2nd half of your post

I don't think you'll get trouble at Clairefontaine. It's a very quiet and peaceful suburb in a very rich area of South-West Paris. Plus nobody would care/know about some 2-bob pre-season friendlies. People would probably notice the 200-odd Wolves shirt being worn but that's about it.

Must say it really isn't a great place to be playing games for fans who don't get European football at all. I'm not even sure there's a bus you can take to Clairefontaine from central Paris and that would last a solid 90 mins! Plus staying in Clairefontaine for 2 days... There's not that much to do. There's 1000s of shit stadiums in Paris central that would have been more suited for both those games for the travelling Wolves fans.

Ah well.

They have some very loyal fans, baring in mind the season they had last year. No plastic fans there then.

As someone who has been to Dortmund many, many times, the support they recieve is unlike anything in this country. It's an incredible experience and one I would advise any football fan to experience, if only once!

I went to a HJK Helsinki game in Finland last summer, their fans can get a decent atmosphere going. I doubt it's on par with Dortmund but certainly better than anything in England I've seen.

If it's remotely close to BvB, it would be good. The yellow wall / South tribune is simply an awesome sight!
