Home to Sunderland for us. New manager bounce? They're pretty handy away from home I think.

We rested a fair few players midweek, although Montsma and Jones didn't even make the squad because of niggles and McGrandles went off at HT with a calf issue.

No Bridcutt I don't think.

I think under Parkinson this would have been a nailed on defeat. I’m a bit more optimistic now but I still think it’ll be a draw, which wouldn’t be a terrible result looking at the table.

3rd v 4th tomorrow as Portsmouth make the trip over to us.

We have not beaten a top 8 side in a very long time, circa 2 seasons - I find the wait will go on again.

1-1

Fleetwood tomorrow for us, heart says a win, but head thinks it will be at least a draw but I wont be surprised if we lose.Joey Barton as a manager has really surprised me the way he has turned his hand to management, as a player I thought he was a bully and a pratt

A Scott Fraser love-in at Stadium:MK tomorrow as we come up against Burton and try to get something out of these opponents for the first time ever. I have no idea which MK Dons team will turn up - the one that overwhelmed Charlton or the one that succumbed meekly to Stanley. I'm just glad to be watching live football for the first time for 280 days (but who's counting) so I'll take a dull 1-0.

Sheridan v Barton today, I have a lot of time for the afore mentioned, he did a good job at Fleetwood and was well liked. Today I hope it all goes pear shaped and he has a lousy Saturday night.

Joking aside if Fleetwood have play off ambitions, and they certainly do, this is a match they need to win. Two poor results in the previous games and we need to bounce back. A tough game and hoping the Cods can edge it 2-1

Our nearest game today, in Bristol. Who knows what team we will put out desperately unfortunate last week having dominated, but losing Mayor will hurt a lot.

I think Barton is doing a great job for you. Some good players for lge 1, but if you go into the Championship your club will get ruined. You wont compete financially

Fatty and the Gills for us, we have a terrible record against them so a draw would be a good result
Don’t worry, O’Keefe still out, Mellis very doubtful, Graham definitely out, Dempsey doubtful, Robinson doubtful, and Samuel doubtful.
We only had four on the bench on Wednesday.
If Dempsey, Robinson and Samuel are not fit then I will be surprised if you don’t win by 4 or 5.

It will be a nice problem to have if the club are successful in their ambitions

You look at Yeovil who were in the Championship not that long ago, and now ! Rotherham have yo yo'd between the leagues, Wycombe are finding it tough, Burton survived I think 2 /3 seasons, Barnsley have been up, down and then up. Luton have done well, and going back PNE and Bristol City are well established in the Championship

As any manager would say right now its trying to get 3 points today

Btw one of my golfing pals is a season ticket at Bolton, prior to last week's game against Port Vale I was complimenting him on the run you were putting together, just when you think you are starting to do well eh. Disappointed to hear that Billy Crellin is really struggling and has now been dropped, hope it does'ny knock his confidence too much

We've got an impending loss away to Blackpool.

Our back four have showed marginal improvements over the last couple of games. That being said, we are far from world beaters. Offensively we are still ever so inept.

Some of those clubs are big clubs capable of 20k plus crowds and can budget for the championship.
Some like Yeovil and Burton battered above there average and unfortunatly paid for it. I would put Fleetwood in this bracket

There have been some traditionally small clubs like Wigan and Bolton who stayed quite a while before returning to their rightful level

We look a different team today. Jack Diamond has been fantastic, won a penalty and curled a beauty into the top corner.

HT Imps 0-3 Sunderland

Deserved lead for the visitors who have pressed us aggressively and crucially taken their chances. Imps should have gone in front with Johnson missing two 1 on 1's but since the penalty which I think is debatable they have been on top and look dangerous.

Our young team haven't really found themselves in this position before so it will be interesting to see how we react in the second half.

Feel sorry for the 2000 fans back at the CG. We’re stinking the place out at the moment.

Probably the worst team to visit us this season, 83% possession says it all but we aren’t ruthless enough, 1-0 no where near enough.

Played some great football today. 4-0 up away from home against a team who are 2nd in the league. Fantastic result.

Yup - men v boys literally, similar to Portsmouth who are another experienced side who came and dominated. Without Bridcutt and McGrandles in midfield we miss their ability to turn the ball over and pick up second balls. Hopefully we can respond but I don't think any of us expected to be where we are in the table!

Edun has also been found out, caught out a number of times, whilst we have Melbourne waiting in the wings, I'd like to see MA go out and get an out and out LB but I don't think he will.

Both full back areas are a bit weird for us because we only have one!

On the right, Eyoma is a CB and his cover is Gotts, a CM and on the left it's Melbourne, who seens himself as a CB and Edun, a CM! Roughan is a LB at the minute (long term they see him as a CB I think) but he's only 17.

I don't know anything about the game but I did look at the team sheet and thought it could be Portsmouth again. An experienced side against a young one, us missing players in key areas as well.

We did at the start of the season and he'll never be 100% convincing because as good as we were today (should have had more than two) we can easily follow that up with a garbage performance like at Blackpool.

Still, it's another hurdle jumped in the gauntlet moving onto the next big game at home to Fleetwood before Friday's trip to Hull and I'm feeling confident all of a sudden.

I'm too fucked off at paying £30 a week to watch this absolute shite to post unique content on TFF... so here's a direct C&P from my thoughts on the ITFC forum;

I consider that by far and away our lowest point this season. On most days that 90 minutes results in a 6-0+ defeat. As recently as 4 days ago I was still in the camp of Ipswich being sat 3rd with pretty much a full first team on the injury table. But the straight swap of Drinan for Jackson on '62 is just beyond words.
Only positive? Dobra... what a player he already is at this level - he has a very bright future but it will not be with Ipswich Town. Thought he was superb today, shame about the other 10.

We were on top for a combined three minutes out of 90.

There should be an inquest amongst Blackpool players and management as to their failure to score against our shambolic 11. Staggering.

We weren’t great first half but still in control, we fell asleep for a few minutes after taking the lead and FairPlay to Wimbledon they managed to snatch two goals.

Second half was like playing a non-league minnow and just run over them, could have been more than 5 in the end.

Better from us, eventually. Wimbledon easily the worst side I’ve seen and it’s not even close, be surprised if they finish above the bottom 4 based off that.

Won 2-1 but if it had been 9-1 it wouldn’t have flattered us, seriously need to start putting chances away. The strangest thing from today was that Fatty stayed in the stands all game, not sure if Kettle had a word or he got stuck in a seat

Would hate to be a Northampton fan. What’s the point if you play football like that? How can a man that played a lot of his career in the top flight have his team play like that? Literally, and I am not exaggerating, for the last 30 minutes Northampton actively gave us the ball. Just kept kicking it out for throw ins. They were more confident with us in possession than they were with themselves. Pathetic football team. Absolutely awful and a complete embarrassment.
