Our big clash with Brum on Monday night, but how do you feel on your game? Another biggie with Bolton v Huddersfield on Sat too - should also be a cracker!

A not-unfamiliar trip to Creepy, they've lost the last three but had won the previous four so not much to read into there really. County should have a few back from injury, I think Bate might be in contention which would be amazing.

Away to Posh. Away end is sold out (1,700), I think it must be at the side of the pitch with that sort of allocation.

We've only beaten Posh once in L1 (8 games) and generally speaking get very little against them anyway even in our L2 days together 20 years ago, so they're a bit of a bogey side.

O'Connor is suspended with Hackett, Hamilton and Walker out. Hopefully McGrandles will be back fit after the mini break in the league that we've had.

Hamer will come in for O'Connor and I've got a sneaky feeling we might hand Earley his debut at LWB, which will add some left footed balance and stop usfilling that position with wingers. Skubala must be tempted to start Cadamarteri soon and get him more involved, Makama has started the season well but Cadmarteri looks like he'll offer the threat in behind that we need.

We're unbeaten in 12 away from home, which I didn't realise until after the Stevenage game and it was mentioned post-match on the radio.

After quite a tough start, in terms of quality of opposition, Shrewsbury will be a real test of where we are actually at this season. If we are serious about getting top 6 we need to be going there, playing well and winning comfortably.

However, I can see it being a scrappy game that we may nick 1-0 or draw.

ah pants, another fricking 12:30 KO, we only just had one.

Anyway. Can't imagine our glamour clash v Cobblers being big box-office.

Anticipating a classic mid-table midfield scrapathon, I seem to remember them being pretty dull and cagey the last time we played them.

No idea what to expect from Mansfield Saturday, never mind Cambridge.

Hoping we got one or two back, Maris is back light training but may be too soon to start, now DKD is gone we seriously need him back considering his goal contributions. Defensively Flint is still out but I’m hoping FBT is back.

Blackpool away. Steve Bruce as their new gaffer isn’t ideal timing as I assume their players will give that bit extra with the new manager bounce etc.

We should be confident though and reckon we will be unchanged from Bolton away. Two up top and take the game to them.

1-1 draw

Loss.
We will concede at least one very stupid goal.
We will probably be behind inside 20 minutes.
We won't start playing with any sort of purpose until we're at least 2 goals down.

Going by what we saw last week, you should comfortably beat the Shrews - we played very mediocre and still easily beat them.

We will see. We have struggled to open up teams and create meaningful chances so far

We haven't played in the league for two weeks, I was quite happy we didn't play last week tbh because its been a shit show of a start.

We have 3 keepers on our books, Zach Hemming is the reason we have 0 points after his two blunders in two games, Sam Howes isn't up to it and we've said we're looking to offload him and then there's Josh Keeley on loan from Spurs who looks like he can't cope with crosses after a shocking mistake playing for Ireland U21s against Latvia of all teams.

Two of those keepers are loans, according to Wellens it apparently costs £650k per year to have two League One experienced keepers on your books and we can't pay that.

We have the same issues as last season going forward, we over play and don't create enough chances.

We've lost Ruel Sotiriou and Shaq Forde who have both signed for Bristol Rovers for around £650k in total this summer (Forde was on loan from Watford last season), both scored 20 goals for us last season between them - We've replaced them with Sonny Perkins on loan from Leeds who looks fucking shit and has no idea what he's doing, he's had zero impact apart from assist in the league cup against Newport and Diallang Jaiyesimi from Charlton who again looks nowhere near good enough although I think he may get one or two goals for us as he does put himself about in the box (and he is nowhere near as useless as Sonny Perkins) and has scored against Newport, but he is slow, his touch is shit and he needs 4 touches of the ball to do anything.

Losing Idris El-Mizouni has been an even bigger blow, that key link the midfield to get Wellens possession game going and ticking over, replaced him with Lewis Warrington who Wellens for whatever reason won't pick FFS.

We've tried to address our short comings by adding left back Jack Currie and holding midfielder Dominic Ball to our ranks for some much needed experience and power to our squad.

We also need Jordan Graham back for his experience and attacking prowess, he hasn't played for nearly a year since his nasty knee injury picked up at Burton last October. He played a few pre season games but of course had a setback and broke down, good player for this level got something like 6 assists before his injury too.

Last time out at Shrewsbury we were shit, had 75% of the ball and just over played time and time and time again and got punished with two goals on transition.

Our forthcoming fixtures are against Reading, Brentford (Cup), Stockport, Peterborough & Wrexham so there is a very real chance we will lose our first 8 games of the season. Scoring a goal would be a start given how we play.

If we survive this season it will be a minor miracle, our board cannot expect Wellens and the staff to keep getting low key youngsters to develop and over perform, but then Wellens has to sort out our predictable overplaying in the final third.

Other commitments means I'm missing our trip to Blackpool, which is a shame as I haven't been for a while, i think last time they only had one stand.

Be nice to follow up our win at Bolton with another win, but that already seems months ago and I hope we aren't too rusty.

Sounds overwhelmingly positive.

I'd still expect Orient to be ok but a lot of that is down to the manager. Hopefully Hemming can regain his confidence because he is a pretty decent keeper but the longer his poor streak goes on the worse it'll get

Mansfield fans are there any pubs that will be open 10.30/11 that will let away fans in?

I’m not sure if the town centre pubs let away fans in, I’m sure another stag on here can advise better than me for that.

Usually they allocate Bold Forester and John Cockle for away fans, both not far from the ground and open in the morning.

Yeah can’t imagine many neutrals will tune in

This was from the same fixture last year where we battered you but were so wasteful, that was a bloody frustrating afternoon so hopefully we can avoid that!

Sounds like a decent number of the injured players are back amongst training for us this week. A fair few unlikely be match fit and will be more likely to play on Tuesday in the BDSM. But hopefully we will be naming a matchday squad of senior players which would be a new one for us so far this season.

Welcome to Stockport tomorrow. We've had some decent games against them over the last couple of years so I'm looking forward to this.

The break was very handy for us. The last game we looked like a bunch of strangers trying to get into the team. A week on the training ground will hopefully do us the world of good.

Rotherham away.
Bodin out injured. That’s 12 now out.
Although we might have 2 back for tomorrow.
Can’t see anything other than a loss and Joe Powell scoring.

Similar to last week, if you score early you'll win fairly comfortably. We'll have to score at least 2 to win, as our defence is full of mistakes at the moment.

If we can stay in the game and them get Castledine and O'Reilly combining then we may trouble you. Not confident at all!

I didn't think Hemming did too badly at Shrewsbury. The lad looked totally broken at the final whistle tho looking on from the home end behind the goal.

We haven't named a goalkeeper on the bench....but our reserve reserve goalkeeper is being warmed up on the pitch.

Elite mind games.

We've only scored once in the first half in our first 5 games. Ahadme tends to start and he has struggled a bit so far to get into games. We look much more of a threat when Aneke comes on around the 60 minute mark, just a shame he can only really play 30 minutes each week! It always makes games tight though as we tend to do little until he comes on!

Disappointed to be losing this but it’s been the story of our season so far, get to the final third and we shit ourselves, Gregory yet again being a thorn, 2nd was a good goal, looked like a pen for us on lavery in the 2nd half but would like to see it again.

Rossi for us just simply isn’t good enough, been giving him the benefit for a while.

Not a pen that TBF. Referee wasn't giving any of those tangles all afternoon, so entirely consistent.

Frustrating, it's 2 wins in 18 for Monk. Dunno when the question is going to start being asked.
