Well, the fixtures for the new season are almost out, but before that, we have the 1st round draw for the League Cup. As per, the draw is regionalised and seeded. Unless someone can find the info, I can't see any confirmation as to who is in the north and south pots bar the obvious teams.
Here are the splits I think are likely:
Northern Seeded(18): Barnsley, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Bradford, Burnley, Chesterfield, Fleetwood, Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Middlesborough, Preston, Rochdale, Rotherham, Sheff U, Sheff W, Wigan
Northern Unseeded(17): Accrington, Bury, Carlisle, Crewe, Doncaster, Hartlepool, Morecambe, Oldham, Port Vale, Scunthorpe, York. Burton, Coventry, Mansfield, Notts C, Shrewsbury, Walsall
Southern Seeded(18): Brentford, Brighton, Bristol C, Cardiff, Charlton, Fulham, Gillingham, Ipswich, Millwall, MK Dons, QPR, Reading, Swindon. Notts F, Derby, Peterborough, Wolves, Birmingham
Southern Unseeded(19): Wimbledon, Barnet, Bristol R, Cambridge, Colchester, Crawley, Dag & Red, Exeter, Leyton O, Luton, Newport, Northampton, Oxford, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southend, Stevenage, Wycombe, Yeovil
Teams in bold I'm not sure about, could be in either pot. Last season, we had a 17 North/19 South split between the 72 teams. Season before, it was 18/18.
Not sure how they'll get the match ups right, but I think we are looking at some bizarre draws tomorrow, mostly for those teams in the midlands.
Anyway, that aside, who do you want to see your side get? One of the easier seeds/unseeded teams? A decent away draw? A reasonable home game?
Me personally, I wouldn't mind Middlesborough or Hull away, never done either of those 2 grounds. Plenty of winnable draws to be had too. Looking forward to this tomorrow, lets hope we get a decent draw.
