Sutton - Tranmere
Boreham Wood - Torquay
Chester - Braintree
Dagenham - North Ferriby
Forest Green - Bromley
Gateshead - Solihull
Lincoln - Barrow
Macclesfield - Eastleigh
Maidstone - Guiseley
Southport - Aldershot
Woking - Wrexham
York - Dover

You'd expect Forest Green and Daggers to have fairly comfortable wins, though North Ferriby not the pushovers anticipated. Harder to call at Sincil Bank, where Barrow might grind out a result and the game at the Moss Rose also looks like a hard-fought contest.

Rovers go to Sutton for the televised game on the 3G pitch, at a time to deter the travelling fan, though the number of SE exiles should still see us take around 300. The hosts started the season well, but have gone off the boil recently, as have the Rovers strike-force of Cook/Norwood. Expecting Brabin to stick with the same formation after an encouraging first half at York, Harris/Kirby coming in for the suspended Hughes. Don't think it will be pretty, can't decide between a draw or a scrappy away win.

I don't want to go all Billy Big Bollocks but I will be more than a little disappointed if we don't beat NFU. That being said, I'm sure Gateshead fans thought similar.

They seem to score few goals, which is a blessing given our makeshift defence and given our attacking talent, I'd hope we can out-score them.

Great chance to reclaim top-spot this weekend.

Similar with Bromley's visit, one we ought to be winning if the challenge is serious. Wonder if Racine will return, defended reasonably well against Eastleigh, if there are changes as I expect would think it would be Frear or Chemlal starting out wide and.maybe Moore up front with Murphy and Tubbs as sub.

Woking v Wrexham looks the standout there.

Two teams gunning for promotion, on the top of their form....

Oh.

Heads up for Tranmere fans, there will be no segregation at tomorrow's game.

It's either going to be a scrappy single goal victory for the U's or a gallant defeat by 2 or more. We're not a bad team, we're just struggling to score

Might be struggling to make this one.

Still seems to be an air of disappointment around SB after Tuesday. Frustration led to disappointment and we'll lose if you play like we did midweek.

Think that might be the first time that's happened since us being down here.

Early kick-off and we have zero threat element. Our club has been in contact with Tranmere (who said to expect about 300-350 travelling fans), and the police. We hosted a massive title decider against Ebbsfleet in April with over 3000 in the ground including about 1000 away fans with no segregation

I draw the line at getting up that early, so Sutton's the first game I'm missing this year. We weren't segregated at Welling or Woking last year for what it's worth.

I fear the worse am afraid. Pulsating as it was, we were a bit fortunate to beat FGR, and Tuesday was just awful, fucking awful. Rumour has it the ball spent so much time in the Sky we collected enough air miles for the whole squad to fly up there tomorrow!

Orlu is missing and unfortunate as any injury is it means we might improve defensively and God do we need to. CK did say he would re-enforce the defence this week, but as we speak nothing. Hopefully though he will either change tactics or at least return Miller to the middle instead of using him as a bloody winger.

Will snap peoples hands of for a draw now!

Guiseley up next then, massive improvement from Tuesday required. Can't coast against anyone at this level. Hopefully some of our walking wounded make it back in time.

Sutton v Tranmere live on BT Sport 1....12.15 ko. I shall be watching this one.

Good news for all those suffering from withdrawal symptoms after not being able to watch Tranmere on the box for 2 weeks. They're back on.

Should be interesting, both them and Sutton have gone off form a bit of late, Sutton losing 4 of their last 5, scoring just 2 in those games, but their one win in those 5 came against high flying Dagenham, and their record against top teams is pretty decent. Tranmere picked up just 1 point in 3 not scoring in their last 2. With lethal marksmen like Andy Cook and Lord Norwood up top, can't see that lasting much longer though.

Gary Brabin was fuming last Tuesday at both the referee and York's "pantomime" tactics after Jeff Hughes got sent off for a challenge on the always massively popular Richard Brodie. Wonder what he'll make of Sutton's roughhouse approach?
Paul Doswell was also pretty pissed off but that was more down to their result, as they somehow managed to lose at home to Braintree, in the sort of game he said "we need to be winning."

Apparently Sutton once knocked giants Coventry City out of the FA Cup. There is a slight possibility that this might be mentioned during BT Sports coverage tomorrow, for all those that want to learn more about this hardly ever mentioned achievement.

Can't wait.

Funnily enough it's always other people (the media, opposition fans) who mention the Coventry game

We have a very difficult game against a well backed Eastleigh side tomorrow where I think we'll lose but I expect it to be a close game.

The most important thing after Tuesday's debacle is that we need to play well. If we do that but Guiseley finally find form then it's imo acceptable, I'd rather we bounce back well but still lose than see a display like that again.

Probably because it was on a Tuesday, meaning you were likely to bring less. Pretty sure you'll be segregated at ours this season (if it's stays on a Saturday)

Aldershot, Lincoln, Tranmere and Wrexham are likely the only games we will segregate this year.

Tranmere are on TV again in two weeks against us.

I think we will get our first draw of the season tomorrow 1-1 at home to Ferby.

Chester v Braintree looks an interesting game.

Craig Mahon, who's looking a quality player this season, reckons this is the best Chester team he's played in and that they can achieve something special this season. A couple of their home results, 3-0 v Dagenham and 4-0 v Sutton suggest there might be something in that. If they can win this one, their upcoming games all look quite winnable especially if they can start to sort their away form out. Jon McCarthy and Ian Sharps are a highly promising managerial team, already getting plaudits in their first job. Chester could well be dark horses.

Braintree have been pretty woeful so far, which shouldn't be that much of a shock given they were raided for most of their squad and management over the summer, although they did keep hold of Akinola and Isaac, who are both key players. Their defence has been poor, but there might be some hope that things have started to turn round a bit after they got a new keeper in and managed to get an away win at Sutton on Tuesday. Jamie Day's got a tough job on his hands though, think Braintree would probably take 5th bottom from here.

We desperately need a win, but I can't see us getting it against Aldershot. It seems that we're carrying a few injuries at the back, so our shocking defence is even worse! Four new players signed today but I doubt many of them will be match fit.

Two insightful posts in the one thread and not a bullish comment amongst them.

Chris have you started taking your medication again?

To be fair I agree with what Mahon has said in the press in that this is the best Chester team since we’ve been back in this league, and he’s been here the entire time himself. But we’re young and inconsistent and this is McCarthy’s first job, so he’s learning himself. This season, personally, I think we’re destined to be safely tucked away in mid table, can see us climbing a bit as we’ve had a tough start.
