Arch Nemesis
Some characters have an Arch Nemesis listed with their powers. If a character faces their arch nemesis, the battle is so epic that it spills over into the previous and following fight on the card. This means that all fighters in the fight’s directly above and below on the fight card lose an additional HP whether they win or lose!
New weight category: Featherweight.
So the 15BR limit and 10BR limit categories return (and of course no BR limit) but there is a new FW category (5BR limit)
Planet Defenders
I’m using a leaderboard feature (credit Oaf!) this time. A fighter gets 3 leaderboard points for a win, 1 for a draw. During the regular gameweeks you won’t be fighting for control of territories like in 1FF Wars
Every fifth gameweek there is a Universe Battle which is like a big PPV event in boxing or wrestling terms. Characters qualify for this via the leaderboard. There are 6 planets to fight for listed below with the BR entry criteria.
Earth – 5 vs 5 (No BR limit)
Krypton- 4 vs 4 (No BR limit)
Corneria – 3 vs 3 (BR 11-15)
Cybertron – 3 vs 3 [BR limit changing 5-20]
Tatooine – 3 vs 3 (BR 6-10)
Treasure Planet - 2 vs 2 (BR 0-5)
To give an example, after 4 gamweeks the 2 highest scorers on the leaderboard with BRs of 16-20 will qualify their team for the Earth battle. Teams can fill out their fighting team for these matches from their roster or random “CPU” characters (you won’t get top end BRs though).
Each planet has its own unique ability which you can unlock and there are cash bonuses for a successful Planet Defence.
How to win the game: Have on your roster: the Planet Defender for Earth and Planet Defenders for any 3 of the other planets.
OR
Be the last team standing.
Planet Defence bonuses.
If you successfully defend a planet you get a bonus as follows (as well as any normal prize money):
Earth: £500K
Krypton: £350K
Corneria: £250K
Cybertron: £200K
Tatooine: £150K
Treasure Planet: £100K
Starting prize money:
FW: £100K
LW: £150K
MW: £250K
HW: £400K
If you win any fight uncontested you will pick up £150K and any bonuses but no leaderboard points.
Factions
When faction members line up alongside eachother in the same fight, they get a 1BR boost as standard. However, there may be further BR boosts like this available exclusive to certain factions as well as other abilities.
Some other stuff
Absolute Maximum BR for a fighter including all powers, items and everything = 30BR
Must enter at least one fight each regular gameweek or else a £150K fine.
If you enter a match and don’t PM me fighter choices (or can’t enter eligible BR fighters by the deadline) it’s a £100K fine per match.
As before, it takes 2 people to bold a choice in the PM to buy something
Another new feature this season – you don’t have to request offers, I will send them by default. However, if you don’t want offers and let me know in advance you will receive a £50K bonus.
Farce prevention - Based on the forum clock XX:59 is in time before a deadline, XX:00 is not you have been warned!
Bankruptcy
If you can't pay your wages on a gameweek, your highest earning character will be auctioned off. You won't receive the proceeds of this auction but your money will be reset to £0 and you will get to play on from there. If you go bust a third time at any point in the game, you are eliminated. If you go bust and don't have any fighters to auction - eliminated.
Auctions
These will work to a set deadline. Teams post in the thread bids in increments of £10K. If two teams bid the same amount the bid made first counts. Highest offer made before the deadline wins the character.
Picking fight spots and entering characters
I posted something along this lines before the forum crash/wipe but here it is again.
This season you can’t make contingency plans such as “if this happens .... then do this, but if this happens ..... then do this” etc. You simply list the fights you want to enter in the thread (in order of priority) and then list one fighter per location in your PM (or of course 2 fighters if it’s a 2 vs 2).
The only kind of contingency plan you can make is by listing more fights than you can possibly enter in the thread, just in case a fight is full when the picking order gets to you. Be warned though, doing this might result in you ending up in more matches than you want to be in, particularly if you have a small roster.
Here’s an example:
Team 1 roster
Spider-Man BR 16
Barry Scott BR 12
Card:
MW
United Kingdom
1 v 1
USA
1 v 1 v 1
Bonus
Australia
1 v 1 v 1 v 1 v 1
Up to 2 spots each plus bonus
In the thread:
Team 1 USA
Team 1 UK
In the PM:
UK – Barry Scott
USA – Spider-Man
(order doesn’t matter in PM)
OR
In the thread:
Team 1 USA
Team 1 UK
Team 1 Bonus
In the PM:
USA – Spider-Man
UK – Barry Scott
Bonus – Spider-Man
Now with the 2nd example, the team are taking a risk because if both the USA and UK matches are not full when the picking order gets to them, the team will end up entering 3 matches with a roster of only 2 fighters and end up paying a £100K fine as a result.
Trading
You can trade with other teams just like in the last season. Someone from each team posts in bold in the thread the details of the trade to formalise it.
