No thread for this so I'll start one.

We have Gillingham and we should win but I have no idea what side will be put out or how affected we are from covid. I think the next few (lots?) of games will be a bit hit or miss for everyone depending on who is sick or not. At least it's going ahead.

I’m not sure if our covid break will give us some fresh legs or mean that we’re back off the pace. Either way I’m fully expecting a defeat, best thing we can hope for is a spirited one at least.

Jesus Christ that must be the worst team we have put out in the last two seasons
I dont expect more than 4 of the starting 11 to finish the season

This score could be anything

We’ve actually done ok considering. We should have scored at least 2. And as I type Doyle scores. Think that’s fair. Rotherham have had a lot of the ball but we’ve created the better chances. Considering how many players we are still missing we are doing much better than I expected. Tell you what Johnston is so much better in midfield than cb.

Delf has been half decent at cm too. Not sure he’s ever played there in his career?

very nervous win for us, pure backs to the wall from our perspective for most of the second half, but there's certainly an art to grinding out the 1-0 win, and they all count, so...

Important to get the result too with the likes of Sunderland and Oxford coming up, if we want to stand any chance of staying in the promotion mix.

Really good point for us, worked their socks off and ground it out.

Wasn't pretty at all but it was actually a nice change to see us play with a bit of structure and organisation rather than the chaos that it usually is - meant we had less threat ourselves but defensively we were unusually solid.

Time to sit back with some popcorn and have a scroll through Oxford Twitter

Good win versus crewe. I say a good win - I’m only going off the score line as I got updates via FlashScores whilst I sit round the pool in lanzarote without a care in the world.

Well, with our game at Coventry being off, I lowered myself to mix with the hoi polloi at Burton today in your place. Easy win, Crewe tried to play but offered virtually nothing, Burton could have had double figures if they could only finish a bit better than they did, especially Hemmings who scored a cracker but missed a series of sitters.

Difficult game against a Bolton side that were clearly not suffering the after effects of covid that Evatt implied.

We deserved the win all told, missing some guilt edged chances in both halves, but Bolton had 2 great chances in injury time to claim a point.

Evatt is a complete bellend BTW.
He got a yellow complaining about not getting a foul, and then still carried on and on berating the referee and 4th official. He's lucky they hadn't got the bottle to send him off.

Crikey we were poor today even by this season’s standard. Really disappointed if the management team didn’t know what to expect, think I’ve strained my neck with the ball being in the air that much, awful but effective against a weak defence. Great strike for the 3rd goal but Offord was so soft on the challenge. Too many not interested.

Pricks throwing smoke bombs need to piss off too.

And one for the Burton fans, why haven’t you sponsored the throw ins yet, Doggy Day Care could have had a lot more air time.

I don’t know why more sides don’t do that to us. Cheltenham looked solid and nullified our midfield excellently by sitting as deep as possible. A well deserved point from your point of view and you worked damned hard for it.

From an OUFC point of view a largely out of character performance - We weren’t at it at all. Struggled to get to grips with the game and didn’t look like getting a goal until Cheltenham scored. Even then it wasn’t that convincing.

I haven’t looked at Twitter but really not sure what anyone would have to complain about other than a below par performance. In fairness we’ve done ever so well this season; we were due a performance like this.

Looks like the Cambridge Covid situation has improved and so our Monday afternoon game is on! Hard to tell what we'll be like after not kicking a ball in anger for three weeks.

Louis Thompson, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Lee Brown may all be back from injury to boost the squad. Clark Robertson may also feature at centre half for the first time since early September.

Cambridge will be looking to do the double over us.

I dont know if your fishing or you have your rose tinted glasses on. Our midfield consisted of a 30 plus year old forward/winger and a centre half in central midfield. The other player in midfield was a 20 year old who was playing non league just over a year ago.
Evatt got booked because it was a stone wall penalty and the referee came up with some mumbo jumbo excuse not to give it.
Going back to our defence we had a centre back at right back a centre half who has played 2 games this season and another who we recalled from a loan period from the northern league.
First team players missing from yesterday.
Jones,Lee,Isgrove,Sheehan,Williams,Amaechi,Darcy, and Charles 7 out of those 8 are certain starters
If Rotherham are the benchmark for this league we will be okay this season as our players start to return

It's more slating Cheltenham than complaining about Oxford.

No rose tints here, we didn't play that great yesterday but still did enough to get the win.

Penalty, give over the "offence" was outside the box, our player got there first and your player kicked ours, didn't get the decision so pretended to be injured.
Evatt was bang in line with it so knows what actually happened he was just being his usual self.

We have 50 points from 24 games, we have scored the most goals and conceded the least.
We have clearly played better in most matches than we did yesterday so maybe take your "benchmark" from our record over the season and not how we played yesterday.

Just to remind you.
Dixon, Jones, Santos, Johnston, Gordon, Williams, Sheehan, Isgrove, Sarcevic, Afolayan, Doyle was your starting line up in September.
Exactly the same team had thrashed Ipswich 5 2 the previous week and we won 2 0 so your "makeshift" team actually performed better yesterday.

That’s what I mean - I’m not sure what anyone would have to complain about (citing Cheltenham) beyond our own deficiencies!

Evatt does get carried away, but that's the nature off football. Regarding the foul that wasn't given,. Dapo clearly got the ball and was then taken out, by the last man we kicked the ball out for Dapo to receive treatment. What did Rotherham do keep the ball

Another poor half. So disjointed and uninspiring. I can forgive a lack of quality but there is such a massive lack of effort and desire from this team.

Wow, really is a game of 2 halves. Nicely puts us in the relegation zone too!
