Wow, really is a game of 2 halves. Nicely puts us in the relegation zone too!
How the hell have you got down there. I knew you wern't doing particlularly well compared with last season but it seemed you were picking up enough points to be mid table safe.

Not won since 26th October in the league, horrendous injuries, poor home forn and cannot hang on to a lead to save our lives! I think we'll be okay, 110% behind Appleton, but we need to start picking up points soon!

As per Yeo and in addition, we also can't score.

We completely fucked up our transfer business at the top end of the pitch in the summer, albeit we missed out on two or three who went elsewhere (Graham to Birmingham, a lad who went to Wednesday who's name escapes me being two) so we were looking at the right quality of player, perhaps too good if that makes sense, and left ourselves woefully short in the end.

Appleton's said he wants three or four forward players in and I suspect he'll get them.

And Hanlan who went to Wycombe too

Ahhhh.... the sweet return of footy. Should be a fair bit of rust on show between ourselves and Cambridge today.

No doubt that our squad is in better shape, injury-wise than when we last played back on the 11th Dec, with three first-teamers available again. Problem is that the momentum we had back then has possibly been lost. I think it could be a safety-first start to the game by both teams before opening up a bit more later on. Won't be more than one goal difference either way I reckon.

Evatt does get carried away, but that's the nature off football. Regarding the foul that wasn't given,. Dapo clearly got the ball and was then taken out, by the last man we kicked the ball out for Dapo to receive treatment. What did Rotherham do keep the ball

It was bang in line with where I sit, one of your players flattened Ferguson going for a header on our LH side and hooked the ball forward.
Dapo miscontrolled the ball it looped up and REG tried to get a foot in, it looked like he kicked the ball against Dapo and the ball squirmed away from the challenge towards our goalkeeper to me.

The ref ruled no foul so we carried on and lost the ball just inside your half, where your player put it out for a throw in.
If Dapo really was hurt maybe we should have put it out, but he has got a bit of a reputation for falling over and rolling about when there's nothing up with him so maybe you can't blame teams for playing on.

If the ref had deemed it a foul, it would have been a yellow card not red as Woody was only 5 yards away.
The ref thought like all those around me did that it was just a 50/50 challenge.

Don't get me wrong, I know Evatt has to appeal but he practically bursts a blood vessell and carries it on and on even after the yellow card.
Refs know he has a reputation for moaning and berating officials so he was lucky to not to get the second yellow IMO of course.

I have to say that Bolton played very well in patches and could, maybe should have equalised at the end.
Which would have been gutting for us as it was in the time added on for all Bolton's keepers' time wasting earlier in the half before Smith got our second goal.

Anyway that's how I saw it and I do try to give an honest view and not be too blinkered.
All the best for the rest of the season, I very much hope you continue to improve and hopefully can take some points off our rivals.
Happy New Year.

I’m not there but it sounds like we’re being reffed out of our game against Pompey. Had Smith sent off but Pompey could have had three off themselves now.

Smith's sending off was the correct decision but yeah Pompey should've had 2 men sent off. I say two because the foul on Big Joe in the first half was only a yellow IMO.

One of, if not the worst refereeing performances I've seen, absolutely inept from start to finish. Good point, considering.

Another case of the ref being blinded by all our star players by the sound of it. Happens every game :cool1:

A very hard but well earned point against Pompey, both teams could have won that and it was actually entertaining as 0-0’s go.
Think the truly awful officiating helped in what ended up being quite a mad game, I have absolutely no idea who was reffing but he was shocking and totally lost all control of the game with his bizarre decisions, worse than any kettle game I’ve been to which says a lot.

some big games coming up and we need these injured players back sharpish.

It's nothing to do with that. We always get favourable treatment from referees. It's played a big part in our success, rattling around mid-table in League One.

I was having a right moan to my Dad about you the other day - I’ve never forgiven your assistant coach for rushing over and helping our defender to get sent off at ours a few years ago and yesterday just reinforced my believe you’re a bunch of cheats. ;-)

My dad is from your way originally and used to be a season ticket holder when he was a kid. I was telling him how much I thought you were cheats and he was telling me to rein it in. Meh, maybe you’re not so bad and it’s just that apart from the game at yours earlier this season you always seem to give us a pasting.
