Go on then, let's have a thread for the midweek games.

Imps host Burton. We hammered them last time, but they've improved tremendously under JFH who seems to have worked some kind of miracle. We're in the midst of an injury crisis, not helped by having been kicked off the park by Bristol Rovers, but at the same time seem to be over our recent slump. Head says a draw; heart says an imps win.

Northampton away for us. 0-0 is currently 6/1 with sky bet. Fill your boots

Two CB's out and now the two FB's are doubtful as well.

If we can get another CB fit then we can move Eyoma back to RB and Edun can replace Bramall at LB but that then leaves us short in CM. Unless 17-year old Roughan plays but he hasn't done so since November.

JFH has done very well since he's gone in, an amazing turnaround, which I'm assuming has been PO form since he's been there.

Accy away, stopped the rot at Shrewsbury but fully expect it to start again, never beaten Accrington since they came back into the league.

I would be happy with a point. We are almost mathematically safe but in reality we are well safe due to others poor form.
We played well in parts on Saturday but could not finish the many chances we created.
Jfh has instilled the confidence back into the team plus some good loan signings and freebies to freshen things up. The defence is not as bad thankfully as that capitulation at sincil bank.
Your injuries means it may be tighter then it would have been normally, so I say a 1-1 draw.

First game sans the Sheradactyl and Lee Peacock will assist Tommy Wright. Not sure very much will change and Pompey will easily take the points and our relegation will be made official. 0-3.

Charlton at home. If our players are not at the beach, most of the fans are and now looking more at next year. Therefore expect a loss.

Always had a soft spot for Charlton and went to a few games when a kid. Indeed, I remember a few toys from when I was about six or seven, and one of them was a model of the Valley. For a year at school we were taken for sports by Theo Foley. He used to take the Charlton team for practice at Avery Hill Park, then literally climb over the hedge and take us for games. Kind of brings home where we are with football now when a manager used to have to have two jobs to get by!

JFH has done a great job. Defence is a huge worry, players may have to play regardless of injury which isn't ideal. Will be a boost to have Grant travel although personally wouldn't play him. Will be a tight game but probably more importantly we just can't afford to pick up any more injuries.

Lee Peacock - there's a blast from the past! Is he still sporting his mullet or mohawk?

Haven't seen him in quite some time. He did go through a phase of sporting a sheepskin coat so it will be interesting to see if he dons it in the bench tonight. He's a bit of a character and I imagine popular with the players.

He scored in a televised game against Lincoln back in a day. Think we won 3-2 possibly?

1 change for us. LB Cohen Bramall is injured and replaced by James Jones which will see Edun drop back into the LB spot.

No Walsh and Jackson in CB which is a blow and Jones has been out of favour since catching Covid so a big game for him to stake a place in the team.

Jorge Grant returns to the bench which is great news, can't see him featuring after so long out.

Not a lot on the bench so it'll be up to the attackers to get us through this game.

I want an experimental line-up tonight. No point playing our strongest side in a dead rubber, blood some of the young lads in and throw them in the deep end tonight and let's see what they've got.

Surprisingly 1-0 up at HT v Pompey - and just about deserve it. Pompey have had lots of possession but not created much. Doubt it’ll end up 1-0 but at least the effort is there for the first time in a while and certain players look like they are actually enjoying it without the Sheridactyl. What a fucking clown that bloke was/is.

HT: Burton 0 - 1 Imps

Played really well after taking 5 mins to get into the match. Retained possession well and attacked with intent. Whilst not testing their goalkeeper we've had a number of shots blocked by the home defence. As ever, when you're on top need to add more to the 1 goal.

Well, it certainly looks like we are rapidly exiting the play-off picture. At least we won't have to put up with another drab semi-final exit this year.

The Cowley effect has turned out to be nothing but a dead cat bounce. Not really their fault. We've lost key players at the wrong time, and some players are hopelessly out of form.

It will be interesting to see if this affects the Cowleys getting the job permanently. I'd be happy enough to see them next season with a pre-season and a squad more to their liking.

Did not play well tonight at all, but fair play to Lincoln who did.
We still need that point to be mathematically safe.

We’ve turned into 2009 Barcelona tonight.

Some of these goals we’ve scored are unbelievable.

Can’t be bothered to see who are remaining games are against but we’ve packed up until August. Haven’t scored in 5 games, barely come close in fact. Tonight was comical actually. The banter era continues

Remarkable that we’ve conceded a penalty in each of our last 4 games. Jaaskelainen has saved 3 of them though. Decent win tonight, abit of a crazy first half in which we were fortunate to in front. Controlled the game 2nd half though, Fleetwood created nothing 2nd half despite us losing two centre backs to injury. Still fancy any team with something to play for will beat us though.

Yep, Sunday lunch time game when we were both at the top of L2 in 2006/07. Barry Corr scored as well!

I’m still in shock after last night. In complete control of the game and then James Henry handled the ball to give away a penalty (the stream didn’t really show how it played out). Minutes later, they got a second. Game over.

KR said in the press we dominated even with 10 men. I know he gets carried away, but we got overrun with 10 men. We certainly didn’t dominate and looked the less likely to score once 2-1 down.

Frustrating doesn’t come close. We’ve really not helped ourselves here.

We were great between the boxes, just awful in both boxes. I feel the draw of a Devon Super League with Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth Parkway with no relegation is currently quite attractive.
