Had a quick look at our accounts from 2010 to see what our wage bill was the year we wont he playoffs.
It was 6.4 million then, so my estimate of 6-8 million doesn't look too far out.

Ambler said we had a top six budget the year we went up but that we'll likely have a top three budget this time around. Not that that really indicates a figure, as we were competeing against the likes of Leeds, Norwich, Southampton, Huddersfield and a recently relegated Charlton that season. I can only see Wigan and maybe Sheffield United having a bigger budget next season, though.

in 2014 ours was 12.1 million and it was apparently higher in the season just ended.
Chairman has said that we are adjusting the budget down a bit, but I can't see it being cut by more than 50%. If I had to guess I would imagine it'd be around the 6-8 million mark.

Championship really is a world apart from League 1 and 2 these days.

At least this league doesn't have to worry about MK Dons offering out their massive signing on fees and ridiculous wages any more. Can see them buying their way into the play-offs next season as well, unfortunately.

For such a short sentence, you've still managed to get a decent amount wrong.

Clucas' value will be subjective to those outside the club obviously, but if he does go, i'd suggest the club would be looking for something around £750-800k, (already turned down bids believed to be around £500k) which i'd say is not too far off £1m you say he isn't worth.

We bought him for either £70k or £80k (i forget) not £200k and although you're not massively out with the time-frame, it was more 9 months ago rather than 6.

It's been quoted from very good sources as under 100k so I'm happy to take their word.

Let's not forget that this move was finally prompted by Mansfield - the bid was left on the table & it took Cox ringing Cook (who was in the pub at the time, surprise surprise) to get the deal done at the last minute.

Didn't do him much good in retrospect.

I'm quite happy from where I heard six figures, still cheap nevertheless but worked out well for both clubs and the player so was a good decision all round.

Apparently the Blades budget was £9m last season, some £2m higher than Bristol City.

Our squad will get ripped a new arsehole this summer, Darikwa, Clucas and Morsy all likely to be sold.

Our budget was 1.8million, confirmed by the chairman, and is staying the same for next season. Plus apparently the manager gets 30% of any fee to re-invest in the squad.

Having said that, we invested absolutely nothing of the Eoin Doyle fee, no doubt that went on players bonuses.

It'll depend largely on how we are doing in the league. Start well and look like a top 6 side and we'll likely average around 10,000. Find ourselves bottom half and struggling and it'll probably drop to around 7.5k. Don't really see anyone we are likely to sell out against in this division, unlike the Championship which tended to boost the average substantially (16/17k vs Leeds, Charlton etc).

Ticket prices being high at Millwall do tend to mean that we punch above our weight (in this division) from a financial perspective at least.

From our accounts the numbers given are classified as 'staff salaries' and therefore would include coaching and administrative staff. Other expenses are not included in that figure and nor would transfer fees for signings (if I understand it correctly).

Income isn't as low as you think. Look at the money we have earned from selling our best players.
Plus crowds are still higher than most in this league.

We averaged 8.5k when we were battling relegation in 2007. I think we'll average 10k over the course of the year even if we do struggle.

I have no idea what our budget will be, certainly our highest ever to compete in this division, JFH has asked for an increased budget and he is sure to get that. I doubt the figure will be announced and as always we will be run prudently. Its ok having a big budget but more important how you use the budget you have. The club have a policy of checking out a players character as much as his ability and he has to fit in with the group and work ethic required at this club. Budget wise we will not be able to compete with a lot of clubs but on the pitch I think we will.
