Do Yeovil have a rival team?

Not any more. Historically it was Weymouth and then from the 70s Hereford due to a series of rather unpleasant happenings before and after matches. Both of them have fallen by the wayside in recent years leaving us with no real rivals.

Perhaps you should start something with Torquay, no one hates them either!

Bless em. It's like Leicester around here, they've always really wanted to be rivals of Forest and Derby but neither of them are interested. Mind you, they probably aren't that bothered anymore...

Nobody could hate Torquay, great place to watch your team play if the weather is good and friendly fans.

Blackpool (if things stay the same)

Everyone else who hasn't been mentioned will more or less finish somewhere inbetween. If Yeovil can maintain current form I'd fancy them as a possibility of sneaking into the top 7 but not really sure how they will lineup in August.

Lol, it's a bit early to be making predictions, is there not a whole summer of transfers to get though yet?

We've got 9 players contracted for next season already which is a record for us. Usually we've got about 3 until July.

Without a doubt, just gut feelings for now and will make proper predictions end of July/early August.

Personally think Colchester will be surprising a few by the looks of things.

League Two strikers are generally so hopeless that their gung-ho 'you score two, we'll score thre-oh fuck, you've scored five' style won't be so ruthlessly exposed. That said, without Moncur and Gilbey they will be far less potent going forward.

Doncaster fans on their forum still seem fairly over confident about their chances in L2 next season, just look at these posts they made..

"I honestly think we will pi*s it next season"
"We will be a big team in L2, other teams will especially want to beat us. The players will have to be both mentally and technically superior to the opposition. Fergie will have to get off to a winning start, otherwise he will have to go."
"I'll be disappointed with anything less than the title to be honest."
"The facts are Ferguson will have a squad of the best players in that league."
"League 2 outright ,Rovers 2nd Fav 10/1,Fill your boots"

Well everybody is entitled to their opinions, but I just hope they know what L2 is all about, because if they don't then they are likely to have a lousy season!

Yeah Carver, I think their fans* will be severely disappointed once they find out they're not top by the end of September. I know they're among the favs for a top 3 finish, but they shouldn't underestimate L2 because very few sides play open football, which makes things somewhat harder. Now I 'm not an expert on L1, but whenever I've watched a L1 game I've noticed that there aren't many sides who literally park the bus, something which imo is fairly evident with quite a few L2 sides.

* I'm not referring to all the Donny fans obviously, just to those brainless ones who think they're gonna piss it.

Like you did after you were relegated to League 2? You don't half talk bollocks boy  You posted on 1FF that you had the right to beat every team in the division as your club was massive compared to every team in League 2 yet you only just avoided relegation :fl:

Donny? That side that got relegated with the lowest ever points total?

Infront of just over 1,000 as an average attendance.

Hmm

I think there are always some that come down from L1 who think this league should be a walk in the park, we were a bit guilty of it when we came down here 2 seasons ago, but yeah it is true that nice passing football is not the best way to get promoted from this league. Teams have to really earn the right to play and have many hard working experienced players who will go toe to toe. Then after the battles on the pitch are won, the talent and flair will soon follow.

I would say that the sides who really do well at this level can mix it up, win the physical battles but are capable of playing football...but keep that to the final third. You do have the negative grindball merchants too who play the percentages, nick a shitty goal then sit back for the rest of the game, we were 100% that way under Peter Taylor - and Richard Money's winning Walsall side were another classic of that type.

I would say at least half of L2 sides are just fairly inept hoofers though, and I include us in that. The sad thing is, we *can* play football but seem to choose not to at the moment.
