For me it is a club with a very close knit community feeling.....fans, management and players all link up on facebook and twitter as friends talking about anything and just has a 'load of mates' feel to it all........

Sorry, but no fan should ever be, or more importantly want to be, on first name terms with his football team and manager. Your friends can't be your heroes. This is the principal difference between the Tin Pot and the REAL football clubs. :bdick:

We've signed David Ferguson from Northern League (9th Tier) Shildon. The strange thing is last season he was captain of League 1 Blackpool before being released and returning to the North East to play local leagues :pond: Still only 22 yrs Plays LB/CB and was with us as a youth before it all went tits up in 2012

So next set of games this weekend:

Alfreton Vs Worcester
BPA Vs Boston
Chorley Vs Altrincham
Curzon Vs Fylde
Halifax Vs Salford
FCUM Vs Harrogate
Gainsborough Vs Stalybridge
Gloucester Vs Tamworth
Kidderminster Vs Telford
Nuneaton Vs Brackley
Stockport Vs Darlington

Seems to be a big weekend in respects of the play-off pack, big chances for Halifax and Stockport to close that gap with home games vs the 2 sides they need to catch.

Top 3 have on paper easy games, this next 7 days could be really where Fylde open a very large gap as they play Curzon, Alfreton and Altrincham which 3 wins can see them go at the very least 12 points clear.

Can BPA keep their form going, and this is another good chance for Gainsborough to keep out of that bottom 3 or will Staly get a vital win.

Of course we at Curzon have the bloody awful one this weekend. Chances in my view extremely slim, I am expecting nothing and a thumping may be on cards.

If i have an area i hope we may exploit it is the fact Fylde have not played for 2 weeks and we have been playing. It may leave them rusty and we need to really take advantage of that during the first half before their fitness takes over in second. we shall give them a game but i think our only chance is by grabbing the lead in that first half and then digging in.

I see Boston have signed Karl Hawley. Very astute signing that. Was very good for us a couple of seasons ago and I am sure can still offer a lot at 35.

Curzon 2-1 Fylde at half time.

First 20 mins we couldn't get into game, but restricted them to little, they grabbed lead from a cracker outside box. Since then has been all us and we deserve our lead.

Absolute cracking management from our side, was going to moan at 1 down that we had changed our approach and rather than slow build keep ball are playing numerous balls in behind their back line either through balls or over top....... Now I see why as it completely exposes a big flaw they have in their back line is very slow.

In for a backlash, but got that vital lead to battle for now

Curzon 3-2 Fylde

A superb performance, outplayed them from 20 mins onwards, should have been much easier. Went 2-2 totally against run of play through a thumping 30 harder for them and expected worst, but we battled on and got some luck as their defender/goalie messed up to let us through.

They had next to nothing all game apart from long range shots, 2 of which went in otherwise was all us and deserved

Shaymen 0-2 Salford at HT

Shaymen 4-2 Salford at FT

Says it all really. A game of two halves where we played awful in the first half and unbelievable in the second. Thought everyone but Clarke had a good game today taking into account the scintillating football in the second half. Huge credit to Heath for really changing it up in the second half. Serves the tossers right for giving it the big 'un at 0-2, especially Allen.

Curzon are definitely my second team in this division!

A satisfying 1-0 win for us. Love a late winner against a team that were time wasting the entire match - they'd already had two bookings for it. Their keeper was fantastic, apparently Telford have had an offer from an unnamed National League club for him.

Not a great game at Chorley, 2 up at half time then a mediocre second half, Alty were absolutely shocking, clueless, they had 2 corners second half and couldn't even manage to get them in front of goal, the second one curved straight behind the net. Good to see Jack Sampson score a debut goal, thought he looked impressive and had a good game for Chorley, other results went our way too today, well done to Curzon!

Absolutely massive comeback against $al£ord today. Looked dead and buried in the first half at 2-0 down yet we somehow managed to put in a fantastic performance resulting in one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen to win 4-2. The debuting Danny Nti looked superb as well in the second half.

No sign of the Class of 92 though. In comparison, our chairman has missed 2 games since 2008.

Ha! Priceless watching the Tin Potters wasting time from the 6th minute, taking an age to get back into their own half, take a throw in, a corner etc and finally running around like blue arsed flies trying to make up all the time they wasted earlier at the end. :bdick:

The Class of 92 aren't the 'Chairmen' of the club.

Alfreton 0-0 Worcester

Poor, poor game. Missed opportunity for both sides to get some real breathing space from the relegation zone.

Terrible first half. Then a little bit of excitement early in the second half. We were awarded a penalty and Clayton was brought down by the Worcester keeper, Ethan Ross. Ross certainly made amends with a spectacular save from Westcarr who hit a good penalty but was denied by a great save.
Then 5 minutes later Worcester thought they had the lead from a Corner but an superb goal line clearance from Heaton denied them.

Stupid Red Card for Cieron Keane in the dying minutes.

Both sides will be in the relegation scrap until the end.

Don't know quite why the fans that were singing Heath Out 2 weeks ago expected him to give them a wave today. :fing:

God knows how we didn't win that today - in fact I know how we didn't win it - a combination of giving away three awful goals, (the first two were sunday league standard) bad luck and another awful referee who came to have his day in the spot light in front of big Edgeley Park crowd.

We can add this game to Harrogate, BPA, Fylde and Halifax where we haven't turned the home performances into enough points.

Pressure is now well and truly on ahead of visits to Halifax and Brackley.

Carl Heeley was saying on our local radio station that Worcester were convinced it was well over the line.

Just listened to Nickys post match interview. He said he asked a number of our lads and they all admitted it was well over the line. Looks like we got away with one there.
