I was somewhat surprised our game got the thumbs up on Saturday against Curzon. Looking at the pitch on Saturday there's no way it can take anymore rain, which it's been absolutely chucking it down all day on Monday.

But with Tuesday being a non rainy day, and Wednesday's sunshine forecast day. The game might just get the go-ahead for Wednesday night at Blackwell Meadows.

Good luck Bromley.

Part of me wants it to be postponed again, so we can play the replay at home. :bg:

Hopefully though, we can get the win and get on with playing every midweek for the rest of the season. Luckily, we won't be left with any Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday weeks yet.

Yeah that sounds like a plan, and would make sense if that was the case.

Well I'll be coming along to BM for this game to cheer and support the lads on! Bromley that is :bg:

Battling performance in tough, windy conditions, but we got through. One more team to beat until our first appearance at Wembley since 1949!

Fantastic to see Spenny go out, good game Bromley should have won about 4-1.
The chances Bromley missed was unbelievable, but Bromley kept Spenny at bay towards the end as they sat back on their 2-1 lead.

Us Darlo/Bromley fan's easily out sung the Spenny Fan's with the 'masons hill to see the Bromley aces chant' :bg: had a good bit of banter with them.

Good to see the Bromley players come over to us at the end of the game, shaking hands and that. I wish our players did that at the end of a match. Nice one Bromley great result

Difficult to put a figure on the away following with no segregation, going off the first half in the tin shed with a mixture of Bromley and Darlo together - hazard a guess around 50--70? Bromley supporters gathered together in the home end

6 years since we were last in the Trophy semi-finals, last time we properly screwed up at Newport in the 1st leg. Hopefully no repeat tomorrow... (weather permitting)

A bizarre game today, we didn't start playing until about 30 minutes in and got a generous penalty in the process, although I can see why it was given.

Then we dominated the second half and could have won the game 5-2, but I would have taken a one goal lead at 4pm. Their defence had no answer to Mekki and Dennis running at them.

Aye, good of Watford to plug the 2nd leg on Twitter, hopefully that gets a few extra in to the ground too.

As for Saturday, no complaints with the result. We defended resolutely but Brackley had the extra man in midfield and started to overrun us in the last 20 minutes of the second half. Glenn Wilson was an absolute rock at the back, he's been very consistent when he's played this season.

Hope not!
1-0 seemed a fair result. Brackley put in perhaps the worst performance I've seen this season, but then again the weather and pitch were awful, and Wealdstone looked solid. Wealdstone's problem for the second leg will be breaking us down - we're a very solid defensive unit usually, and they didn't offer much going forward on Saturday. Then again it only takes one good cross or through ball to score a goal.
Good away support from Wealdstone and I liked their main song. A few of the fans seemed very angry in the away end however at the finish, abusing our GK for no reason I could see & a slightly unpleasant atmosphere - not quite sure why.

If Brackley and Gateshead get through they’ll be able to switch the final to Wembley FC and save on stewarding costs.
Think you meant to say, wouldn't it be an impressive achievement if a team like Brackley, a part-time club representing a town of 12,000, made it to the final. Average home crowds about 500, represents 1/24th of the town's population turning out - which doesn't seem too bad to me.

On the other hand I take your point - Wembley FC's ground apparently holds 2,400 - I think we might struggle to fill our half of even that stadium.

Wealdstone 0-2 Brackley Town (Att: 2,008)

Men vs. boys. Brackley would absolutely walk the Conny Sarf, should have been more today really as we just couldn't get to grips with their pressing, intelligent play from James Armson and Shane Byrne in midfield which left us exposed time and time again.

Armson was heads and shoulders the best player over both ties imo, he's somebody that we're absolutely crying out for in midfield. Brackley's 11 are what we should aspire to emulate but we're a long way away right now.

Wilkin loves cup competitions and navigating his way through playoffs. He got 3 promotions with Nuneaton all via winning playoffs.

We've been really good all season - hope we can keep the side together, especially if 'come South' next year with more Northern teams likely to be relegated from the National League. We've got a very solid defence, good wing-backs (both converted) and with Aaron Williams the first top notch striker we've had in my 13 years of watching them. But the midfield is at the heart of everything - Shane Byrne is glorious. Actually think Armson's had a poor season compared to last year, but Adam Walker is one of those unsung first name on the team sheet 'bits and pieces' players.

Thanks to the many Wealdstone fans who held back at the final whistle to clap the team off, and to the fans who congratulated us and wished us luck. Classy and magnanimous. I think everyone thought we deserved the victory. Not sure how many we'll take to Wembley - town has no newspaper so its hard to whip up knowledge & enthusiasm - but getting to Wembly after Tuesday night matches in the likes of Woodford Halse ... feels we've come a long long way.

PS - Was impressed by Wealdstone's central defence and right fullback. Would like to have their No. 5 in our team. Just didn''t seem to have much going forward, and ran out of ideas a bit
