The only thing we might end up top 3 in is number of arrests at away games.
And percentage of home fans taken away.

Also, Luton fans...have you always sang "oh when the town go steaming in"? As I had never heard you lot sing steaming before, until the playoffs this season and I don't really ever recall (m)any other clubs other than us using steaming instead of marching.

I'm feeling BULLISH.

We'll STORM to 16th, above Cheltenham and Lincoln but below Accrington and Coventry. And Notts County, cos they'll have Noble and we wont.

Mansfield will win it, best manager and good budget.

I'm sure Mansfield will have a good go at this too, not sure on the budgets does legal aid still exist?

Obviously way too early to make concrete predictions, but Cambridge have made some good signings and I fancy them to finish top 7. If Exeter don't lose too many of their key players, they'll surely be up there. Luton have some quality individuals for this level, if Jones can get the best out of them they'll be a good bet for promotion. I think Colchester could have a very good season if they don't have the same injury problems again.

I don't know enough about any of the relegated sides, Port Vale probably look the best equipped as things stand.

I think Crawley will struggle, especially if they lose Collins' goals, under Kewell. Yeovil will need to vastly improve their squad to avoid a relegation battle you'd think.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting Mansfield to fuck up, though.

Seriously, we are doing this on 3rd June?

Anyone who says Mansfield aren't champions is a LIAR

I know mate, I would have done it earlier too but I have been busy. Just get yours in over the weekend and I will put it in the spreadsheet.

It doesn't really matter how early this is done as you could do it one day before the season starts and it will still all be complete guesswork.
How many of us had Orient 24th last year or Exeter 5th?
Well done SOC.

We've been singing "oh when the town go steaming in" for many a year and my support goes back to the late 70s. First heard it on the Oak road terrace as young lad. It certainly isn't an original song. I've heard various versions from other clubs. We probably adopted it from one of the big London clubs like we did with many terrace songs.

Which big London club would sing "oh when the town go steaming in"... Arsenal Town perhaps, or maybe Chelsea Town?

That's not very nice! .. Cmon we've had nothing to shout about for 100 odd years, surely you could be a little more receptive for our suffering lot!

If you read my post properly you'll notice I stated various versions. In Chelseas case for example "when the blues go steaming in". The song isn't new.

Fish is right though, you could make your prediction on the day before kick-off or even after the first round of matches and be no closer to getting it right.

Not sure if we need to have such a short cut-off date though.

I presumed Son of Cod was joking about the cut off point?

May as well have done a number generator, but I'm prepared to stick by my selections. And yes, Cheltenham above FGR is my heart ruling over my head.

I'm the eternal pessimist when it comes to Cov and they rarely let me down but Robins is building a decent squad and I actually think we will do very well.
We need a striker, rumours are we are signing a Collins from creepy who is a Cov born and supports the club, so if we get him and another couple that Robins says he needs then I'm actually optimistic for this season.
Robins has us playing good footie since he came in, it was too late to save us but I'm confident if we keep the youngsters we will be top six.
I think Creepy and Morecombe wil struggle, Mansfield will do well so will Luton, Lincoln, and Vale

It's an interesting observation. Have you ever noticed how many boring B teams are usually in the Championship too?
Yes. Yes I have.

Source- I support one of them

As I was completely useless at this last year I am gonna use a random number thingumybob to chuck out 24 random numbers and then alphabetically allocate no1 Accrington no24 Yeovil etc, here is what it threw up:
View attachment 6547
So that gives:
1 Colchester
2 Crewe
3 Carlisle
4 Chesterfield
5 Coventry
6 Barnet
7 Newport
8 Notts County
9 Yeovil
10 Morecambe
11 Cheltenham
12 Luton
13 Grimsby
14 Port Vale
15 Exeter
16 Stevenage
17 Accrington
18 Crawley
19 Forest Green
20 Cambridge
21 Lincoln City
22 Mansfield
23 Swindon
24 Wycombe

Umm, what could possibly go wrong.......?

Congrats to Mansfield though on surviving the drop by the skin of your teeth!
Your random number thing is very sensible

MorecAmbe defy expectations each and every season so I think it's time to revise expectations. Things however could be different if Bentley goes.

You certainly don't want them cropping up on your fixture list in August.
