If they got VVD then they'd have a better shot at it yes. They don't need a new keeper if Migs continues his form particularly if VVD comes in. I'd have loved Keita as well then I'd say they'd have a real title shot, but it looks like the best they'll get is consolidation for another CL berth and 27 will become 28.

Really? I'd say other than at CB which we've covered with VvD then that's your weak point. You have an abundance of attacking options, central mids and seem ok at fullback. Keeper is definitely the area that needs work.

Mignolet did fine with over 20 different combinations of CB's and fullbacks last season; that's the root of the problems, that Lovren and Matip don't play often enough together to develop a cohesive partnership, and Lovren has games where he thinks he's Beckenbauer and causes errors. Mignolet isn't the greatest keeper in the world I know, but I'd still have him ahead of the highly-rated Lloris; and I genuinely believe he is coming into his prime. Whether that'll be good enough, we'll have to see, and is perhaps a question we'll return to next year, but for this season, Mignolet is solid enough.
