This concept offering for a third kit might finally tempt me into buying a shirt to add to my eclectic collection - although I'd still like the sponsor's logo a bit lower (and to not be from this particular skip hire company).

Even though I rarely wear one at a match, they're a great ice breaker (and potential thank you gift) for some of the folk we meet on our travels.

I gather this year's 3rd kit will be on show at Sunday's Open Day.

If that was our home kit, I would be absolutely ecstatic.

last time we brought out a third kit it was quite smart and quite popular with the fans. We didn't wear it a single time.

We've had a few in recent years we've worn once or twice! Including the infamous delayed shirt with 1000 names on it which when we did get it we wore twice! £60 that cost me including my name within those 1000!

Had a beautiful purple one as well for 1 and a half seasons due to both clashing with Notts County and only wore than 3 times in 18 months too.

Our club's new kit supplier announcement, not the best start really. Been wearing our training kit in all the friendlies so far. Should have stuck with PUMA.....

Club statement: Hummel

Tuesday 17 July 2018
Forest Green Rovers has appointed the Danish sportswear brand Hummel as the club’s official kit supplier for the 2018-2020 seasons.
But fans will have to wait until Saturday's match against Bristol Rovers to get a look at the new kit due to logistical issues with Hummel, which mean that Rovers won't be wearing the new kit in tonight's match.
Tom Sinclair, sport market manager UK & Ireland for Hummel, said:
“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Forest Green Rovers for the 2018/20 seasons and beyond.
“As a company with similar values we greatly admire the work you are doing and look forward to doing some great projects as we begin our journey together.
“This season we have partnered with the club to co-design and develop for you two stunning bespoke Home and Away kits.
“It had been planned to launch the new home kit in time for your game against Leeds tonight but unfortunately due to logistical issues this has not been possible, rest assured we are working hard to resolve these issues and we look forward to launching both kits in the very near future.
“Both home and away kits will be available to pre order from next week and the club shop will take delivery of both home and away kits in all sizes prior to the start of the season on the 4th of August.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused to fans eager to get their hands on the new kits.”

More information is emerging on the real reasons for FGR aborting the new kit. Apparently there was a misunderstanding with their new kit sposors, Heck.

This was the first version that Hummel came up with

Don't be ridiculous, we'd never go with such a bright eyesore of a kit. We keep it classy and understated. Like our FGR x AnyForty Range.

Christ that formatting. My eyes.
will me being on my phone serve as am adequate excuse?

apparently the delays with or kit were because our commercial manager left and in his absence nobody knew whose job it was to respond to umbros email asking if we were ok to proceed

I really like that purple kit, really smart. Don’t mind the home kit either in all honesty, simple but sharp.

I see Gregory's outlook on all things Carlisle hasn't changed much. Nowt wrong with those kits IMO. It's true I'm not a fan of purple shirts but like I said when I first saw Vale's away strip -which was, if I'm not mistaken, the first purple away kit that was revealed this summer - purple is one of those colours one either loves or hates. In my case it's the latter, so in this case I'll only look at the shirt design and I reckon it's decent enough.

Carlisle's home kit looks decent imo. Another purple away kit, not a fan of that colour personally but a lot of people like it so can imagine it will sell pretty well.

Just us to go now. Competent as ever. Maybe it will be best till last etc...

If it doesn't turn up soon we could be the first team to officially model Grimsby's new away strip at BP next week.

It’s maybe a bad pic of the home one, but it looks cheap to me and there should be a bit more white on the shirt imo.

The away is the better of the 2, but the black Umbro logos down the sleeve don’t look right, if anything they should be white to go with the badge and front Umbro logo.

It's a bit basic for my tastes, I'd have liked to have seen more red and white but basic is in vogue at the moment, it's not too bad.

Unique shade of purple on that away kit. We'd best hope we don't get drawn away to palace in the cups.
