Croatia, a country with a smaller population than Scotland, have qualified for 4 of the 5 World cups they've been able to enter, as well as 5 of the possible 6 Euros.

Scotland should, and will, regularly quality for a 24 team Euros.

As for Croatia, yes, they have done well over a short period of time but I don't think they will sustain it in the long term.

He's a terrible choice as pundit, no surprise he's doing an awful job at it.

20 years is quite long term though - helped by the break up of Yugoslavia originally and just being able to produced good players consistently.

You've got some good attackers I think but need to play maybe 2 up front and the defence is a mess it seems.

Trouble is every time a team doesn't qualify they go down the rankings/co-efficients whereas a country like Greece who managed to win Euro 2004 of course will always be seeded well despite not being that good.

Just need a Wales/NI inspired campaign!

Did I hear right that only one team that finishes runner up throughout all the groups won't go through? Perhaps I imagined it but you would need to be pretty unfortunate if that's the case. One out of nine.

I don't think it will especially help, and I'm not sure there are much better coaches out there. We really missed a trick when we hired Levein ahead of Lars Lagerback. In general, we should show absolutely no preference towards Scottish managers.

I'd be tempted to wait a few months for Moyes to become available. Nightmare scenario is that we end up with someone like Malky Mackay.

Well that was crap last night, absolutely clueless going forward and for me the midfield lacked far too much creativity. Lucky not to lose too and if it wasn't for Hart it could have been by a few, on the basis of that we should be looking for a foreign manager but not going to completely rule Southgate out after two games. At least we're still unbeaten, a clean sheet and top of the group. As for Scotland they are really shit, can't see them coming close to qualifying but no doubt they'll give us a game at Wembley.
