Due to a variation of different reasons.

It’s quite funny, one thread was created by another fan suggesting that we’re guilty of undermining the difficulties of bouncing straight back; and this thread suggests most other fans believe we’ll win the league.

In all seriousness, I do realise this thread is just a bit of fun.

I can only draw comparisons with Bury when they went down from L1. They had a large playing budget, just like us. They recruited decent L1 players, as did we. They had/have off-field problems which adversely affected them, like us too (which have been resolved here).

They bounced straight back.....and our budget will be bigger. It ain’t always about the moula, but it certainly helps.

That’s mine. A lot of it wasn’t through thought, just put anywhere really as I don’t know really who has been strengthening/weakening their squads.

Before anyone comments, the reason I think we (Carlisle) will go down is because of the idiotic decision to let Pressley stay despite him proving in the second half of last season that he was no where near up to the job. :ffs:
Also the fact that most of the better players we had last season have abandoned the sinking ship. As things stand we have about 6 players or something, a tactically inept idiot for a manager and no coaching staff. A lot of work to do and I don’t trust our recruitment one bit.

Whatever team we fling together by August, it won’t stand a chance particularly in away games with Pressley at the helm.
The only way we survive is if we have an absolute calamity of a start to the season which results in the manager being fired by September, and we bring in someone half competent to somehow save us.

Relegation, what makes you think that if you don't mind me asking. We seem one of the more stable teams in the division to me.

It's a random prediction quickly done during a lunch break. At first I had Morecambe in 23rd but remembered that Morecambe always get predicted for relegation and end up surviving, so randomly picked Crewe to move down below Morecambe.

Was going to wait till later in the summer and see how everyones preseason was going, but was bored. Not much thought process behind it so no point in anyone getting upset or excited over it.

I need to redo mine as Notts Co weren't reprieved after all. And Fylde lost to Salford in the connie final, while Tranmere did in fact beat Newport to clinch promotion to L1.

But I think I'll wait and see who else will the Cobblers be signing this week. Sol Campbells Macclesfield also do look like they're going for it, while Carolyn Radford's Mansfield look to me to have given up on ever going up again.

Better do this in late July then and forfeit all those bonus points up for grabs for early submissions :animatedf:

ps - and of course, PSF results are generally a very good indicator of what is to come. I actually predicted my lot and Yeovil to have a great season based solely on the match results of their respective PSFs. Amazing what one can discover if one does a thorough examination of the players' performance in a routine 6-0 win over Haverhill Rovers.

How about a CUFC league prediction?

Colchester
Carlisle
Cambridge

There!

We really need another CUFC to liven things up. What are the chances that maybe Cheltenham Town will change their name to Cheltenham United?

I only have us to pip Carlisle to second place only cos HG reckons Pressley is a shite manager and he'll drag the club down to the connie. Or perhaps I shouldn't pay any attention to his negativity about everything that's got to do with Carlisle Utd.

I can't believe I'm really saying this but I do miss Carver (sometimes).

Its not only him I’ll be blaming for taking us down to the conference, it’s the people running the club. They’ve just employed Pressley to steer their sinking ship, but I reckon he’ll be gone well before Christmas.

Question: Most fans are predicting us to finish top - or at least in the top three.

What is it about Bradford City and the squad we currently have that makes you think we’ll finish where most are predicting - especially given our poor campaign last time out?

I’ll submit my predictions at the end of July - as our squad is no where near complete (as with most).

I don't think you'll win the league and I wouldn't be surprised to see you initially struggle, but you should be there or thereabouts with Bowyer as your manager.

I'm guessing size of the club maybe ?
Last season was obviously a car crash but Bowyer is decent.
Also this is a shocking league

A good budget and a good manager would be my guess why.

He's about... seen more of him than I have of HG this past few months. I do wonder where all the Carlisle fans upped and fucked off to though. It wasn't a great end to the season, or start to the summer but you could say the same this time last year as I think we were still without a manager, and they still posted here.

Concurring with those above Bowyer is a good manager.

Also, the quality of this league is probably worse than it was when you were last here. Win around half your games and you should coast to promotion; avoid any sort of calamity and you should at least finish top three.

I think Bradford, ourselves and Mansfield will go up top 3. Scunthorpe, Salford, Forest Green and Northampton will make the play offs.

Crawley and Maccelsfield to go down.

Overall the league seems shite on paper compared to when we were here last, but there is a good 7/8 teams who will think they have a good shout of top 3. Just hope one of them is us.

I've included all the sides that could potentially be in League Two next season, simply a case of crossing out whoever ends up not in League Two.

Bradford
Mansfield
Plymouth
Manchester Reds
Tranmere
Exeter
Colchester
FGR
Crewe
Walsall
Northampton
Port Vale
Oldham
Grimsby
Swindon
Scunthorpe
Fylde
Crewe
Newport
Stevenage
Cambridge
Bolton
Crawley
Macclesfield
Notts County
Cheltenham
Carlisle
Morecambe

I didn't set out to get us relegated but we are having to cut our budget next season and have problems behind the scenes. I didn't put the clubs in order from top to bottom, I just put them down in near random order, either above the teams I thought they'd do better than, or below the teams I didn't think they'd do as well as.

There seems to be a potential lack of either clubs in a strong position almost nailed on for playoffs as a minimum as Lincoln, MK Dons, Bury and Mansfield were last season, or total basket cases that also don't have the resources to avoid a relegation scrap, such as Yeovil and Macclesfield. Most clubs it feels, could go either way in the summer transfer window and then on into the season.

Removing the teams that won't be here from my earlier post, adding a few that will without changing anything else, and my official prediction is now.

1. Bradford
2. Mansfield
3. Plymouth
-------------------------------------
4. Manchester Reds
5. Exeter
6. Colchester
7. FGR
---------------------------------------
8. Walsall
9. Northampton
10. Port Vale
11. Orient
12. Oldham
13. Grimsby
14. Swindon
15. Scunthorpe
16. Crewe
17. Newport
18. Stevenage
19. Cambridge
20. Crawley
21. Macclesfield
22. Cheltenham
---------------------------------------
23. Carlisle
24. Morecambe

However if I did change something. Things don't seem to be improving for Macclesfield and while I can't pick someone at the moment (not even us) I need a couple of teams to finish below the unrelegatable Morecambe. I would also move Northampton up to contenders, they've started the summer pretty damn well.

I hope the majority on here are right. The things we have going for us which we did't have last time are; We have a manager who's rated and done it at this level, where as last time we had a rookie in McCall and there was even talk of him having to buy a kettle for the training ground. And of course budget, I don't know exact budgets however I imagine our one next season dwarfs that of our first season down here last time.

The down side is some of the over paid rubbish taking some of the budget up, hopefully we can shift it.
