I hear your story is right but I have it on good authority Lowe was let go because we had someone else lined up...Liam Daly. That ended in disaster. Lowe definitely wanted to stay regardless of Tunnicliffe - it was the clubs fault.

It all comes from the top as far as I am concerned and I have no excitement in this season or the last two. I've been a regular follower home and away in recent years, even did the whole lot for a couple of seasons, and the club is and continuing to lose the faith of its supporters. Poor decisions are increasingly frequent, and increasingly wrong. The tide needs to turn and Gordon is not the man to do it. He's had enough chances to prove us wrong - it hasn't. We should now be reaping the rewards of his vision, or atleast showing progression. There is none. We've regressed every single season - the table doesn't lie.
Think they'll be a change soon anyway.

We should have prioritised a keeper first, to lose an influential player like Hall with seemingly 1 target is shortsighted. I think we are going to have a problem there this season.

Johnson is the worst centre-half we've had in years. His distribution is piss poor, and his first touch, well I won't comment on that. Saturday showed that against Bromsgrove. I agree Horsfall had a dip in form last season, and the time was probably right for him to move along, but he's gone to a Football League club. Moyo, as much as it looks like a good signing, probably won't be playing anywhere higher anytime soon. This is his level.

Jury is out on Davidson, looks a bit lightweight to me, but is exciting so will judge the current crop after a few games. I think after watching this level for a while, that players in that mould struggle against much more physical sides, who tend to be successful. Seen that in Weeks, just not a player who'd get you out this division in my opinion.
Only player who offers some excitement is White and he's only played a couple of times and of course Williams.

I'm only talking about relegation because our form after the Stourbridge game was shocking, and to me, I don't think we've improved at all, and even if we do make swift signings, we'll be playing catchup come 3rd August. Pemberton certainly has a job on his hands.

I'm not defending all of Gordon's decisions, but I think he has tried to do what he believes is right for the club and has tried to turn the ship around. Look how far we had already fallen from the day Burr left before CG took over. My point on the Tunnicliffe situation is that it was ultimately Eustace who took the decision to get rid of Lowe, which was a mistake.

Cameron Gregory had basically been with us since the start of preseason and I think he was the one that Pemberton wanted. However, I don't think he was the only one shortlisted as we had another keeper on trial for the Villa friendly.

On Johnson, we've had far worse defenders in recent memory; Geohaghon, Daly, Flowers, Rowe-Turner to name a few. Johnson had a poor start last season and clearly wasn't comfortable in the role he was asked to play at the time, and some Harriers fans have never let that go, ignoring how much he improved in the second half of the season.

Without taking the bulk of this thread, I just think Gordon is set on his decisions and clearly disregards any stakeholder as "uneducated" (in his words) which rubber stamps his ego. His need to go in the dressing room clearly demonstrates his traits which do not mix well with a football club. I think he has underestimated how easy it is to run a football club, but he will never admit that - else we would be thriving now if everything which ran from his mouth turned out to be true. I didn't question his intentions to start with but the longer his tenure unfolds, the more it has to be questioned.

Wasn't at the game in fairness as wasn't prepared to pay £10 for a knockup XI (same as tonight), but I think the GK situation should be sorted less than two weeks before the season. It is a critical position and can really make or break a season.

Rowe-Turner was absolutely shocking in fairness and Flowers attitude was woeful, but the others I believe we as a club didn't get the best out of them due to our self certified "Kidderminster Way" (which we mastered when we went down allegedly) and they've made decent footballing careers elsewhere. Geohaghon I could use harsher words because of the disrespect he shown us but I think he did have a bit more footballing ability than Johnson. From what I saw in the second half of last season (where if it started at Xmas we'd have been very close to the drop), no one showed signs of improvement and a massive summer shake-up was needed - something which I was looking forward to see unravel, but it hasn't happened, particularly as CG slagged off 80% of the squad against Guiseley - they'll all be starting in two weeks time!

I've just had enough to be honest and will certainly pick and choose my games this year until I see a refreshing change at the top. As CG has said 3/4 years ago, the club won't be reliant on matchday revenue now. Nothing to shout about before a balls been kicked and no signal of intent in my eyes, so theres no urge to pay premium prices (£17 a pop in the East Stand?!!!) to go home disappointed.

Palmer (only GK - far away from first team level)

Moyo
Johnson
O Connor (can't stay fit)
Austin
Davidson
Penn (no legs or preseason, assistant manager, but registered)
Prosser
Weeks
Williams
Butterfield
Chambers
Peniket

Higginson (academy)
Taylor-Randle (academy)
White (academy)

Honestly think we have 10 fit first team players heading into the season.

Got 2 on trial tonight, but not been playing for us in pre-season, so they'll be behind. Shambolic to be honest. Only decent defender in Horsfall left for Macc and not replaced. Ironside replaced with Peniket, an obvious downgrade.

Honestly think if we are in this division next year, it'll be a success. Sad state our club is now in. I won't worry though, we are always told our chairman knows best...i'd take Lowe back in a heartbeat right now but we upset him as our chairman knew best.
Sorry to see your club in this state,Keith Lowe is fantastic footballer and person any club in this division should sign him,not sure what happened when he was at kiddy but he was quality for us,then the idiot McNamara came in and bombed him out after 2 games and rest is history .
Your signing of Penn and the contract length was mind bobbling, anybody who watched him could see his legs had gone a year ago and he had a two year contract with us.

I've no idea what sort of playing budget they have but I went there two seasons ago and it felt like a very vibrant club with a crowd well into four figures. They were close to promotion last season so I'd expect them to be a bit stronger again given their progress over several years.

They are definitely a club on the rise, especially for the first time in their history, the Mariners will function with a hybrid of part-time and full-time players. I think they'll most likely get promoted this season.

Ex York City, Cheltenham Town & Kidderminster Harriers centre-back Keith Lowe has joined Nuneaton Borough after impressing on trial
What is their current situation after last season's difficulties?

I reckon Ashton United will be a strong challenger next season. They have taken some really solid Conf North players down with them so should certainly be one of the better teams in the Evostik Prem.

South Shields are just a billy big bollox kinda club. their manager was fuming when we knocked them out of the FA Cup last season citing they 'shouldn't be losing to teams like them' - The eventual champions of the division above!?

Agreed, they've signed some very good players. Signed Josh Wilson from us, he'll bag a fair few in that league I'd imagine.

Big bandwagon of pissed off Newcastle and Sunderland fans. Geoff Thompson got some vanity project going on there. Trying to get in the football league sharpish too
Once they stagnate or once Ashley goes and Sunderland get back up there, they'll all bugger off
Groundsharing down the road 5 years ago getting 50 punters per game en route to lower midtable in level 10

I don't expect us to take too many to Barnet on Saturday week. We won't have sold many season tickets either. Someone has checked with the ticket office and those who bought season tickets on the new ownership condition can get a full refund if requested before the season starts. Really not looking great.

We have let Jake Wright go on Loan to Boston till January.
Not a good move by us to loan to a rival Wright is a very good player just needs to stop getting yellow cards and stay on his feet. This makes Boston a top 5 team for me,lot of rumours circulating that he is on 1k a week so will be paying some of his wages.
Kempster pre season form must of done this,

See £pendymore got hammered 4-0 by Harrogate yesterday and Alty beat Flyde.
Our pre season has been very good that means we will be bottom after 3 games

Ignore pre-season results, they mean nothing come next saturday,... its what makes footy so unpredictable and exciting especially the first week or two of the season. If we'd played our first team yesterday would probably have lost !

Alfreton have signed Josh Thacker released from the Hull Academy and Tyler Williams mostly recently at Brighouse Town after successful trial periods.

I see Leamington keeper Tony Breeden has left the club following a "training ground incident" last week

Interested to hear what happened

Seems to have broken the nose of a teammate.

Absolutely staggered to see he was still playing at any level whatsoever - the single worst goalkeeper I've ever seen, and a total clown.

Farsley fans, will segregation by in place for Saturday?

We're expected to bring between 800/1000 down.

You thinking of the errors he made against you at our ground in August 2014 the season you won the league?

Was that him as well?!

No, he's been to Barrow a few times and I remember him flying out to the centre circle to make a tackle and missing completely, and another time (maybe same match) where he dribbled out of the box and got tackled. Also the 360 spin he does before kicking the ball out of his hands is fucking stupid.
