We seem to be going through a process of rading Chorley for players, with Marcus Carver signed and Matty Challinor re-signed in the past few days. I wouldn't be surprised to see Adam Blakeman back with us again soon either, especially with his family history.
Carver is a VERY good player at your level and in a good side would be great at ours too.:ds:

Could be a potential. Only real credible rumours I've heard so far are that we're trying to tempt Jameson (GK) and Maguire (CF) of York back into part time football.

I'd imagine Gateshead and York might be infront of us in the running for Kerr, both being full time still. Think this off season will be about playing the long game. Should be plenty of 'Football League' quality players who are looking for the security of a normal job supplemented by Part-time football. In that category in the North-East it will come down to us, Spennymoor and South Sheilds. Unless Blyth reinvest in the first team will be hard for Michael Nelson to do too much to turn them around.

Speaking of quality. Had a look a Pools retained list, looks a decent core to that squad. Probably the best since you've been at that level. Cant ever forgive Raj for what he did but I'd rather our next Derby was in the National League rather than the National League North.
How are Gateshead still full time on gates of 700. I thought their sugar daddy had thrown the towel in.

They were bought out by a consortium of local business people last summer, bloke called Neil Pinkerton has a majority of shares with others owning odds and sods and the trust own about 15% I think. Rumors were Mike Williamson was also providing funds for the playing budget alongside being player-manager. Not sure if theres truth in that but provides an idea of how they might be getting by.

Seem to have a smallish squad of mostly young players, 3-4 on loan from clubs higher up at any one time. Agree with you though cant see them maintaining full time on those crowds for long.

Jameson got another year left on a full time contract so find this very unlikely.Maguire not got a clue about, spent nearly all season out injured, how can this be anything but rumours we are not even sure what division we are in.
Hope for your sake you cast you radar further than ex Blyth players.
No news coming out of York,we could of pulled a blinder or knackered.
New ground is ready but can’t get a license till safety certificate is issued,it’s been quoted that we don’t have to pay till handed over,so club won’t be a rush to sort it.

Thanks for that. I do have a problem with Gateshead as we have a 100% record at that stadium and I don't mean winning. Only charged £7 when I went for our customary defeat back in January. Only positive is that I've found a really good B & B in Hartlepool and the people are very friendly in that area on the country.

Akwasi Asante who scored 28 goals in 41 appearances for Chester has left the club to sign for Gloucester. Wow. Huge signal of intent.

They've been throwing money at it since January/February.

Our top scorer (Matt McClure) left us in January because they offered him an 18 month contract (full time) on a lot more money than we could afford. I know they're meant to be returning to Gloucester sometime soon, but Christ knows how they can afford to be handing out 52 week contracts.

They also paid a transfer fee for Bernard Mensah & gave him an 18 month contract.

In all seriousness - the ground is flying up, without Covid-19 it would basically be done now. Sponsors that never touched us before, which playing 30 miles away is understandable, are getting behind us. New investment coming into the club all the time. Season tickets selling better than ever. 13 years without a home in the City is obviously going to have an effect.

Oh and the Rugby club have lost their manager, their director and a load of players. Things not great behind the scenes there, which considering they did precisely naff all to help us in 14 seasons in exile - the turnaround in fortunes is quite ironic.

But whilst we obviously have a better budget, it;s also fair to remember we lost Joe Hanks to Chippenham the other week (was our top scorer), Spencer Hamilton also went there , Kotwica went to Swindon Supermarine (seem to spend a lot in that league), Parker went to Leamington a few months back and we released Marlon Jackson and Jennison Myrie-Williams. That's a fair bit off the wage bill anyway.

Hopefully, then that's another bankrolled placcy club out of the way.

Think Darlo are just about the only pure club left in this basket case of a £eague.

Aye would be good if you made it back up.

That said I’d prefer if York didn’t go up

If we get back in September which is the target with 25% capacity restrictions it looks as if us, you, Hereford and (maybe York) will be the only clubs who will lose out. Every other club's average attendance last season was less than 25%.

I mean, you could have easily guessed really.

Been told from a stadium officer efl clubs are looking at 50% of seated accommodation and aiming for start date 12/9.
If that’s correct might impact clubs more if no standing allowed due to people congregating in middle.
