I know that's not how football works, but your example is a false equivalency, as I was comparing within the same league and same season, rather than comparing teams who were in different leagues in the same season.

apart from blind hopes for newcomers, the top half of the table will feature the usual suspects... id be surprised if mancity and liverpool werent in the top 3...

the real question is, how long will manU's weakness last? will they ever be a serious contender again, or did their dominance die when ferguson (and most of the main players) got old?

what id really love to see would be some sort of freak accident again, where a total outsider takes the lead, like leicester did... maybe sheffield?

Well the fixtures have not been kind to us... at all. Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City in the first five games and then Chelsea and Man City in the last three. I still think we'll be fine, but this certainly doesn't make our job any easier.

Well the fixtures have not been kind to us... at all. Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City in the first five games and then Chelsea and Man City in the last three. I still think we'll be fine, but this certainly doesn't make our job any easier.

I suppose it allows us to potentially pull a shock off before those teams really get going, but it could just as easily back fire and see us lose three of our opening five. And that would be our momentum from promotion gone, as well as a pretty big blow to the confidence early on.

Even at our best, I expect absolutely nothing from games against Liverpool and Man City, so that then puts the pressure on to earn the points in the other three early games so we don't get cut adrift early on.

It probably doesn't make much difference in the end though, as we have to play everyone twice anyway.

As tough as the Premier League now is, I'd like to think we can stay up, as the football we've been playing should be much more suited to a league where teams aren't trying to kick our creative players off the park.

Yeah, but it's also a much better league, where your creative players won't look as good. People always say this kind of thing, very rarely seems to work out in reality.

You conceded rather a lot of goals for a promoted side, against vastly superior attacking quality I'd question whether you'll be able to play the same way.

Teams at this level will be much more adept at playing through the press and controlling the midfield. Ultimately I feel your defence will be exposed. Hope I'm wrong.

Top 2 will be way ahead again of the rest, Chelsea gonna lose hazard and cant sign no one, personally fancy Leicester and wolves to challenge for 3rd and 4th. Norwich bottom , Brighton 2nd bottom and hopefully some other fuckers 3rd bottom other than us.

I can't see us finishing as high as this year. Not so much pessimism as practicality: last season we were unknown quantity for first two months. Teams got wise to us later on.
I predict we will do much better against bottom six clubs and much, much worse against top six. Finish around 8th, 9th, 10th this year.

Leicester are the dark horse team for 4th this season. They have done a great job in keeping themselves up there after their title win. Them and Wolves could gatecrash the elite clubs.

Scored 25 Goals in EFL Championship last season, and both Tammy Abraham and Teemu Pukki ( who scored as much or more goals than him) played for a team that got promoted.

I'm not saying he is Aguero, Kane or Salah, but he is definitely needed reinforcement for brighton.
