It hasn't helped that managers and pundits used to come out and quickly criticise officials for any minor mistake so now they probably feel everything has to be checked even if its not clear cut and still going to cause debate.

Hopefully you newly promoted teams won't have the same problem we have had with fans picking and choosing their games so against the lesser likes its clear to see a lot of empty seats compared to the top 6 matches.

Mind you the 3 that have come up are better supported and probably not got locals who support the big boys like we do with Arsenal/Spurs and just come to a Premier league game as its easier to get tickets.

You have to have 500 loyalty points to be able to even buy a ticket at ours unless the away team haven't sold out 2 days before the game and its strictly only 1 ticket per person so we wont have that issue.

first of all that i really like this season Tottenham away kit i already got one.

Last year World Cup is probably the most entertaining because of VAR, its enhanced fans experience by adding more "drama" into it and most importantly it got decision right.

Getting decision right >>>>>>>>>>> making games exciting.

Good idea but some of these people are season ticket holders who share them with others or just don't come at all.

Suppose if its their money they are spending then fair enough I guess...

As I say our support base is smaller and more fair weatherly!

Palace barely threatened, you looked solid at the back and it's a good 3 points for you. I expected you to get a few early wins on the board especially in the home games against Palace and Leicester, be interesting to see what happens if either of the defenders get injured not that much cover is there?

Jags and stears for centre back positions, Freeman for baldock, none at all for Stevens really. 2 injuries today ain't good. Weve conceded literally 1 chance in 2 games against 2 teams who will finish 13th/14th area, very pleased with the start.

I know Sky rule the roost but surprised you are playing tonight then away in Europe 3 days later ?

Klopp and Pep etc would be having a strop if they had to do that ...

Yeah it's not ideal. They announced the TV games a couple of months ago and we didn't know how far we would progress. Nuno hasn't moaned about it so far but if we lose at home to Burnley on Sunday I can see it being his number 1 excuse card. I think we can afford to make 4 or 5 changes for the away game in Turin and still field a strong squad, and we can go full strength for the return leg.

I love being in Europe for however long it lasts but I miss having Saturday 3pm games.

Atmosphere any good? Missed the game, looked a decent Palace following however.

Yeah, Fosun own a large chunk of Thomas Cook so it's great for the Europa League away days. Thomas Cook need all the business they can get at the minute and we get flights to Turin for £200, everybody wins.

Torino is a tough tie though, bet you were hoping for an easier one than that.

Quality price that, day trips are always way overpriced. Enjoy

Cracking goal from Neves - even if VAR did its best to find fault with it .

He was having a shocker before that. His usual pinpoint passes were all over the place (probably due to Man Utd's pressing). Still he popped up with a moment of magic.

VAR is ridiculous mind. I was looking forward to it at first but now it's in action I can't wait to see the back of it.

Was pissing myself at those lines trying their best to find an offside, wtf are they trying to work out from that? :ffs:

Hopefully it'll be binned off but then again the corporates will want it to stay.

It looked like they were trying to find any poart of his body that might have been offside - probably didn't want to upset Man U in case they then complained it was.

TBH You can hardly say the goal came about as a direct result of the cross to an extent.

It was a shot after a new phase of play when the ball was headed out.

I think the clubs and pundits who now moan about VAR have to take some blame as they demanding instant and perfect decisions form officials - whilst there have been some real howlers most are just their judgement call at the time with one look.

Now the officials will be so worried about missing something which someone at Sky or BT might pick up on their flashy Ipads etc they almost want to check VAR for anything.

For a club like Everton, with the money they’ve spent over the past two years (what, £100m+?), the expectations of the fans and the owner, I think Marco Silva gets off a little lightly with his away form.

They won five games away last season, three of which were against Fulham, Huddersfield and Cardiff, kept five clean sheets on the road and won the fewest games away of any of the sides that finished in the top half. Granted their home form is quite good but they’ll achieve nothing as a club with away form as poor as theirs.

It’s not even a bit of a fluke either, Silva’s away record as Premier League is abysmal and shows no signs of change. He simply cannot adapt to playing away from home it seems.

Silva has to at least finish 7th with this Everton squad, if not that win one of the domestic cups. Would have been one of the away games they'd have fancied 3 points from considering Villa's start to the season, not only that they were the only side on my acca yesterday to let me down the scouse fuckers.
