Yesterday’s home loss to Wycombe was up there with one of the worse performances I’ve seen in my twenty odd years watching. I’ve written before that the new management set up had to start well or the fans will quickly turn, well things are looking dreadful and bar about 30 mins in the first game we’ve been consistently poor in all our games in all aspects from selection to tactics to endeavour. Worrying times given all our fears at the new appointment are playing out.
to roll over
You were outplayed by a team everyone thinks will go straight back down, you could at least say we played well deserving 3 points and should have scored more. It makes me laugh when fans of teams playing against us think they only have to turn up to beat us.I have no problem with any fans of clubs in League 1 but don't expect any small club like us to roll over as we will fight for every point under Ainsworth.

I think both keepers have their qualities and are capable of match winning performances,I would question the coaching on the training side as both are more than capable of match losing performances due to the inability of doing the most simplest things correctly..expected of a keeper at this level.
It’s alarming these comments considering Jonesy have recently offered them new 2 year deals.

To be fair, Jones criticised Shea for the cock-up, but said that he was excellent for the rest of the game, including the point blank save at the death.
Stech certainly rode underperformed for several months last season, and didn't start this season any better. Shea for me, but it's all about opinions.

We released Shea because he is not a league one keeper. Just saying

I think Stech is likely the better of the 2 keepers, but his confidence has just fallen through the floor for whatever reason and given he had a pre season and he still looks shaky, I doubt he will get it back here. He may need to move on if he is to progress his career again, so its going to have to be Shea for the moment. Shea seems ok from what ive seen, not a stand out or anything but serviceable at least.

Do think it requires looking at again, permanently if possible as the last few loan keepers have been pretty bad for one reason or another.

Nothing I've seen from him since he's been at Luton would lead me to disagree with that statement.

I don't rate either Shea or Stech but given the contracts given to both I'm guessing we're stuck going between the two for this season at least.

i’m confidant that the inherent squad has the potential to attain a play off place...no knee jerk panic for loans to come in....injury’s apart...there’s enough talent in depth....
It’s the manager utilising said squad which will make the difference

It just confirms how little you have watched the division if you really think 'that' squad is good enough. Your manager will have to do a massive amount of turd polishing.

Posh beat Plymouth 5-1. It was very easy. We have had a great start, but I get the feeling that we have not played anyone decent yet who might be troubling the top third of the division come May...

I saw plenty of crap from us in league 2 and the Barnsley, Southend and Wycombe have all been down there with some of the worst. No tactics, no plan and no hope. Shrewsbury and Burton should be ashamed, the other 3 although only scored 2 each dominated and showed how a team of individuals with no direction should be dealt with. The thing is we have some decent players, but our coaching set up is a joke, and now I see McCall has gone to Scunthorpe:(.

We have the worst coaches in the league by far, change now or face a Bury situation. Wonder if Ainsworth fancies the north?:pond:

0 points from 9 at home. Losing at home to Southend and Accrington is not acceptable.

Southend are a horrible, ugly team - diving, cheating & time wasting from the first half. But it worked for them and they come away with a deserved 3 points.

We are absolutely awful. We are really in trouble

Yep was always going to be an ugly game from us, we had to put a right-back in midfield after Dieng and Hyam weren't deemed fully fit and we're still waiting on Dru Yearwood to come back which fingers crossed will be soon. Sam Mantom picked up a slight knock in the first half so wasn't at his best during the game so we couldn't play the free-flowing attacking football that had us only second to Man City for chances created and shots on target before the Luton game. I think Sercombe getting injured and going off for your lot probably changed the game in our favour.

I believe we're due to have at least two loan signings join this week to bolster the numbers fingers crossed.

Yeah fair enough, as another poster said on here - The Mem is normally a place you at so fair play on that. Sercombe going off was a massive bummer - we also lost our captain in the pre-match warm up. Although, they're not really excuses - we were dreadful.

Hopefully a bit of fun with good away support at QPR tonight will get the fans back on side with the team

Gonna be another tough one on Saturday v Plymouth. Always a tough game. Generally very tight games. Hopefully we can carry on our home form and can get another win. I think we are stronger than we can been in a while so should be able to counter Plymouth's physical approach. If we start well then it could be 2 or 3-0, but as I said they are usually tight matches and i'll take 1-0!

Barnsley away. We never win at Barnsley, and they're currently considerably better than us. 2-0 loss.

Charlton at home tomorrow I would fancy us but if we didn't already have problems last week in midfield we definitely do this week. Demetriou(RB) who filled in there last week is on international duty and Mantom is injured and is 50/50 for the game. So it will probably be a first league start for Michael Klass and Michael Kightly filling in there which will mean Harry Bunn gets a debut start on the wing
Guess the line up to be

Oxley
Bwomono Turner White Coker
Bunn Kightly Klass McLaughlin
Hopper Robinson

Likely to be an ugly game would take a win of any sort.

Demetriou is available this week, he'll miss Peterborough and a checkatrade game.

Wycombe v Luton today. Looking forward to this one; this was one of my favourite victories last year after coming from 1-0 down in the 90th minute to win 2-1 - even more so the younger locals outside the ground on the way out losing to "fucking Luton". Honestly lads, we couldn't give a shit about this minor rivalry.

Supposedly with Adebayo Akinfenwa playing a lesser role so far this year, they're playing a bit more football, but I can see him playing up front today if he's fit; he always seems to score against us. That said, I actually think we have a better equipped back line to counter him than previous years.

As for us, I can't see too many changes from the team that beat Shrewsbury last weekend. Danny Hylton has been struggling with injury, but he hasn't been on top form anyway so far. If he was a long termer, Luton would've signed a striker yesterday right? (Famous last words on that one). Expecting James Collins to replace him in the starting line up. I can see Alan Sheehan and Eunan O'Kane taking places on the bench.

Hopefully we won't make the same mistake we made last year if Akinfenwa plays. His goal was far too easy. Wouldn't mind the same ending to the match. Agree it was one of our more pleasurable wins last season. This game is quite local as the crow flies but Wycombe isn't the most straight forward of journeys at least not compared to other local games. Doesn't have that local feel either. Very much a case just another game.
I really don't know what side NJ will play today. Will probably be a choice between Hytlon or Collins rather than Collins or Lee. Too soon for O'Kane to start. Needs a week at the training ground before he's included but a player of that quality is wasted on the bench. Think we might sneak it today providing we play consistantly. That first half spell at Peterborough and the laclustre first 45 against Shrewsbury were periods which probably concerned the fans.

He'll be on the bench with Fred Onyedinma starting with Mackail-Smith and Cowan-Hall up front i imagine.

Very tough game away at Sunderland, don't normally predict results but they have so many superstars I feel like I have a good background to their team already. I will go for 3-0 to Oxford

This fixture last season was a real catalyst for us I thought, before it we were doing well with some good wins but were around upper mid table, after it we went on a winning run that put us top of the league with some good wins at Accrington and Exeter thrown in there. Definitely gave everyone a real lift, a win here today and its 3 on the spin and some momentum starts to build in similar fashion.

Lets hope Jones doesnt make any weird and wonderful tactical changes today that upset the applecart and we dont shoot ourselves in the foot with a shit first half performance. A shame if Hylton cant make it as he always seems to wind up the locals which was a big part of that comeback if I recall.

Despite what ive said about about getting a win i actually think a draw is probably the most likely outcome here, which would be alright to get our first away point of the season.

We've got a good record vs Gillingham at Oakwell but they've started quite well and we struggled against a Scunny side we were expected to beat last week so expecting a tough game. Would just be delighted with the 3 points. Hopefully Cauly Woodrow and our new German lad Bahre get a bit of game time.

We have taken 1 point from our last three games jamo and have a few injuries so I fully expect a good rodgering today.

Hope I'm wrong obviously.

Quite a few people getting their wish today and seeing James Justin play in midfield for us. Not sure if it will go as well as people anticipate, he did play the role well against Southend but the game was perfectly set up for us to play on the break and for him in particular I felt.

But we will see, really hope he does well, he’s a talented young player and it’s a shame his opportunities have been limited since Stacey came in.

Hylton not fit which is a real shame.

Akinfenewa starts for Wycombe, think with our 2 big centre halves we are better set up to deal with that than previously, but he loves scoring against us.

Ainsworth has done exactly that for some reason. We played well in our last 2 League games both away picking up 4 points with The Beast on the bench but is prefered to younger and faster strikers like Scott Kashket,Fred Onyedinma and Nick Freeman,f*cking madness!

I dare say Ainsworth hasn’t done his homework because what you have suggested is exactly the way Wycombe should be playing against us.

Just seen our line up for away at Barnsley and we are effectively playing four strikers.
It will either be a master stroke by Lovell and we will win 6-5 or, as I suspect, be a bloody good hiding.
