So for the benefit of someone who is a long way away for work, what the fuck happened in the Accrington game?

I’m seeing accusations from a supposed BBC Sport Lancs based journo that Luton fans made monkey chants? I’m 7000 miles away and didn’t see a minute of the game and I know for a fact that didn’t happen. I’ve been to around 500 Luton games now home and away and not once have I experienced a Luton supporter levelling racist abuse (monkey chants) at someone, whether it be a player or another supporter. Luton has a proud history of producing BAME players and our supporters just wouldn’t let it happen.

The club also put on free food and drinks for every away supporter, and I see this was repaid with the Accy directors apparently calling for Luton fans to fuck off?

I’ve just seen a clip of McConville rolling around like he’s just been shot. I also see reports that he threatened to throw the ball at the disabled fans in the Luton end? Who the hell do this club think they are?

But you are home to the EDL.

Saw the tweet too, shocked and appalled if that is true, and hope it’s dealt with properly and investigated. We cannot be having stuff like that at our club or at any club. Unfortunately it wouldn’t surprise me if it were true given some of the well known idiots who follow us

However I didn’t see anything of the sort going on and interestingly this one journalist seems to be the only person claiming such a thing happened. Dont know if the fracas at the end of the first half where there was a lot of booing and chants of cheat cheat etc going on and she has misheard something but I didn’t hear or see any monkey chants.

This is frustrating as we have literally had Walsall fans chanting racist abuse at the local Asian community consistently throughout the game on Saturday but no one seems to give a shit about that.

The mcconville stuff there was a bit of needle going on with the crowd at times he embarrassed himself a little bit really with some of it (the fall to the floor after Collins walked past him was a particular embarrassment, and he had a go at a ball boy) but I’m sceptical of this disabled fan thing. What he was doing was nothing Hylton hasn’t done at times, he just let the crowd get to him a little bit as did some of the other Accrington players. They got out shithoused by us, even Shinnie who is normally miled mannered and rarely involved in anything was getting into it, and didn’t like it.

So without any proof either way, you dismiss accusations of racism against Luton, but think Accrington directors swore at home fans and that their best player threatens the handicapped.

It is almost as if you may be a little bit biased in your decision makng?

Wasn't the prettiest game last night but another clean sheet and another win so can't really complain. Especially without our top scorer in the side.

Doncaster play some quick and tidy stuff and would have scored a few if not for McLaughlin being a goalkeeping god in comparison to whatever it was between the posts last season.

There was a lovely moment when Chris Maguire bridal carried a Doncaster player for some reason.

Correct. Because I’m that confident that it wouldn’t happen.

Yet, there’s a part of you that believes a professional footballer would threaten a disabled supporter or that Accrington directors have told Luton fans to fuck off, which if true was obviously unprovoked i’m sure.

In fact, I would say the most believable aspect of your post is that football fans were being racist. Especially as a lot of Luton fans were complete morons when we visited the other week.

He was going to pile drive him then thought better of it at the last minute, funny though.

The ref was to blame for the scruffy nature of the game, he allowed some bad challenges to go unpunished and it became a bit of a free for all before he started going card crazy, if he'd nipped it in the bud early on we both would have had one sent off but the rest wouldn't have happened. Woeful finishing once again from us and other than the goal it was very even.

Their best player DID threaten a handicapped person. How do i know this. The person in question was my 80 year old father. Incident has been reported to police so we'll see what happens - so obviously wont comment any further.

. The same player was also involved in an altercation with a ballboy too. The ballboy was also taken away and questioned as to what happened.

I was a bit sceptical of the handicap abuse accusation (because it always seems to be either children, or the disabled invovled in these stories for some reason) but if it happened to your dad Fozzie then I hope he isnt too affected by it.

We shouldnt dismiss the racism accusations just because of McConvilles action. Both should be investigated and if proven people brought to book for it.

Im pretty confident I didnt hear any abuse but it shouldnt be dismissed out of hand.

What has further annoyed me about this is that at the weekend away fans where 100% chanting racist things about the local asian community that most of the ground would have been able to hear clearly throughout a game and that seems to be totally ignored.

Dad's a pretty tough old bird (and a cantankerous sod too!) so this won't affect him in any way. He'll be at the next home game as always (Season ticket holder). Also agree with the investigation of the racism accusations. However, it would appear that some people are already putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 - i.e. because an accusation has been made and it's being investigated, that the incident must of happened.

Whatever happened, somebody on one side or the other is going to be 'eating crow' at some point in the future...

Chants in support of a well known supporter of ours (by away fans - it was booed by home fans) as well as stuff about "Pakis" and how we have lost our town to them etc.
Unfortunately not an isolated incident at Kenilworth Road either.

Was it reported to the police?

Yes it was reported to the police at the game, nothing was done to stop it from happening. I also contacted police afterward to report it and understand why that was the case.

As Kenny says, it not an all that uncommon occurrence at our games this was worse than usual though. Normally only get the odd INGERLAND chant which whilst not overtly racist its pretty clear what inference is.

I was 35 miles away and didn't see any of it but this didn't happen.

Worst start in our entire history (11/15 losses).
Worst football league side in 2018.
Bottom of the league.
Ffs.

What is going on with this Rahic guy, Bradford must be the only club in the country who have German in a prominent position at the club who are doing crap.

Typical, I criticise the defending and then we go and get a clean sheet. It’s no surprise though, that we defend better when Naby Saar is nowhere near the starting line-up. Hopefully no more injuries and that will continue. Very pleasing win that one.

Should be looking at another win tonight at home to Oxford but just know it’s got a Robinson shithouse turnout with a Ricky Holmes 98th minute worldy to win the game written all over it.
Has Vetokele been playing much? I thought he’d come back and rip L1 to shreds.

Well that turned out to be easy. First half I actually thought Walsall shaded it, kept the ball better, had some chances. Southend we completely disrupted by some bad looking injuries that added 10 minutes injury time to the half. Lennon has gone straight to hospital, radio after reckoned he's done his achilles, so we won't see him again this season.
Hopper, who would be a huge miss, is apparently just a knee strain. However, we scored a goal in the north bank!! because Walsall decided to do a Southend at home imitation and be absolutely awful from set pieces and crosses.

2nd half I don't actually think Walsall came back out, they basically did nothing and more awful defending from a corner saw Dieng score. After that Walsall just seemed to stop playing, it was like no one had told them how terrible we've been at home. Bunn may or may not have scored the third after his shot took some deflections. He played well, as did Mantom (as usual), Yearwood and Dieng.
If I'm honest I'm still slightly baffled as to how easy that was second half, Walsall had only lost once away before tonight and were 8th, must have been just bad day at the office.
The small matter of Sunderland and Barnsley away coming up.
How’s Taylor Moore been Kim? Seems to be getting on better in L1 than he did last season in L2 strangely.

Not so much, picked up an injury in pre-season and missed the first month or so of the season. Karlan Grant and Lyle Taylor have been magnificent so Igor has only been involved off the bench, but not much.

He picked up another knock recently and wasn’t in the squad yesterday. It’s a shame because like you say, he should be tearing it up in L1 but unfortunately for him and us it looks like he’s going to be one of those players who picks up knocks and floats in and out of the side without making the impact they’re capable of.

I wasn't able to make it to Luton (the only League game ive missed so far) - until reading this I wasn't aware of any racism or that we'd made any accusations - nothing on our official site or accyweb forum?? I don't do twitter so I'm assuming that's where you heard it from.
Coleman seemed to be full of praise for Luton as a club and the atmosphere they create. He admitted that he and some of the players lost it in the tunnel at half time because Hylton apparently poked one of our players in the eye.
Anyway no idea what went on cos wasn't there - from a Stanley view lets hope it was just a blip and we can give Portsmouth a good game on Sat.

So you're thousands of miles away from the game would you give a view on any dodgy penalty decisions even though you hadn't seen the actual incident?

I don't know if the apparent racist incident happened or not, I wasn't there. I'm inclined towards scepticism but it is a serious allegation so should be investigated and dealt with properly. I wish people would stop linking the allegation to any behaviour by Accrington players, one does not excuse the other (if it did happen).

What pisses me off is how irresponsibly it has been dealt with. One person heard it and immediately tweeted it with incredibly misleading language ("disgusting scenes... Luton fans...") implying it was mass chanting, which is clearly not true. Based on this one tweet it has now gone viral and is being reported in the national media, with everyone reading it not bothering to await the results of any police investigation before deciding that Luton fans were guilty of racist chants. It's completely irresponsible reporting and even if it turns out that the incident did not happen, was misheard, or even if it was just one idiot, the shit has been thrown and stuck to the wall now and we as a club have had our image seriously tarnished.

If she had just reported it to the police and awaited the result that would have been bang on and the right thing to do based on what she thought she heard. But what she has done is utterly irresponsible IMHO and extremely damaging. If the police investigation finds no wrong doing we should consider legal action, this isn't just some random fan on Twitter it's a BBC journalist so she knew exactly what she was doing using such incendiary and misleading language.
