We've just released our new away kit and I really like it, love when we have black away kits.

Sorry, that's a horrible mess. Looks like a child has flicked his paint brushes at it

Looks crap in the leaked photo but will have a proper moan on Friday.
Exact same with us, it's leaked and the response has been pretty poor despite us going back to green socks like we have been asking to for years.

Looks better than in the leaks. Happy to return to the Green socks like we have been asking for, think they went a bit over the top though with the green trim on the shirts. I can forgive that though for us trying to stand out a bit more with a return to a more classic and unique look. Just wish they removed the gold from the badge and re-did it with green involved.

Away is real nice though.

Never knew you used to have green in the kit before. Looking at the historic kits site it seems it was only around for a couple of seasons in the late 70's/early 80's - why there was a clamour to go back to it? Was a that a successful period? (Excuse my ignorance!)

I like it, definitely a unique look to it.

A third colour trim always looks better IMO, I was never keen on the Vale shirts when we ditched the gold trim for a time in the late 90's early 00's

More on the real reason you all keep checking in on this thread... the Carlisle United 20/21 away kit, and what colour it will be.

CEO Nigel Clibbens has said:
“We’re looking at it being available to purchase on 17 July, with a priority slot for season ticket holders from last year, which we felt was important because of their understanding and patience with us as they lost the last four matches from that season.

I think the home kit will be very popular and the away kit’s great, it’s bright, and it’ll make an impression, so I’m having one … and yes I will be paying for it!”

So... it's bright (which rules out brown) but it's a colour we haven't used before and which we seem to think will set us apart, and all will become clear in a week's time. I can barely contain my excitement.

I'm thinking it must be in some form of dayglo shade. I had previously dismissed this as we have often used that for goalie kits so it's not techically new for us, and also dayglo away kits are pretty much par for the course these days.

All I can say is that I fully expect it to be in a colour previously unknown to mankind... or perhaps it will be in a colour outside of the visible spectrum... like radio waves or somesuch.

Somethiing like YInMn blue but not in blue (obviously)?

Maybe Carlisle have been working with the scientists at Oregon State to discover another brand new colour?

Pink maybe? or Orange? We've done the pink and Purple wouldnt mind us having an orange one for a change

We've assembled a team consisting of some of the world's top scientists and artists under the supervision of Rakish Bingham to develop the new colour.

It was well before my time so I am just as clueless as you are. I believe it was a successful time and around the time that club legend Alan Buckley was player/manager; and the green coincided with that. Those adidas kits is also one of the most popular kit designs we have had and time has made people become even more fond and nostalgic about it. Mainly just because of the unique nature of it. Green was also part of our badge in the 70's around the same time as the kits.

There was clamour for it recently just as a way to make it stand out more, and young fans like myself have taken to the idea as well.

I hope I answered the best I could as someone who was born around 2 decades after we had green!

Bit like how we wore orange at home for six years (

) and in recent times fans have adopted it and asked for orange away kits. It's also crept in as an accent colour on next season's home kit, probs to represent it being part of our 125-year history.

(btw I wouldn't be surprised if we wear a version of that as our cup kit. It'll either be that or the "Blue Ajax")

I know were no longer down in the basement league, but this “kit” deserves to stay down here.
