I see Carlisle have slipped down from being champions, to out of the autos, and they're now not even in the play offs. No surprise, really. They were never going to remain anywhere near the autos.

They've no depth in their squad, their starting 11 is average at best. They've never rightfully been top, teams below them had lots of games in hand when they were briefly there. I reckon come what May they'll be around 10th.

I reckon around 80 points will be enough for top 3 this year. So that means most of the top 10 need another 11-12 wins to stand a good chance. Carlisle have the most games left to get those wins, so can afford more slip ups, so rightly favourites at this point.

I watched the last 2 Carlisle games on iFollow. I’m not sure we have too much to be worried about tbh.
You were watching us getting back into action after a month without any football. We still managed to beat Exeter and only lost by one goal to FGR. You try taking a month off and then playing two of the promotion chasing teams.

Dude we're on the same points as you with three games in hand, we could go on our worst run of form so far this season and still leapfrog you in the process, and when we were top only Newport and Morecambe in the top seven had one game in hand on us so it's time to give it a rest with this 'Carlisle only look like promotion contenders because other teams haven't played as many' argument.

Not to mention you couldn't even register a shot on target against us after we'd not played for four weeks and not trained for two.

We were knackered that day. Not sure what is worse, having a month off or playing solidly twice a week through the Winter.
Still, you're about to find out.

A first but it'll be spring by the time we're doing most of our twice a week playing.

Based on our performances since returning, having a month off is definitely a very bad thing but we also returned to face two in-form promotion contenders.

We weren't in form though, we had only beaten Stevenage in our previous five games and we were coming from losing at home to Morecambe

Well I decided to see how you fared on ifollow tonight and what I saw was you get beat 4-1 and I don't believe we have to worry about you pulling away.

In fact, YOU WERE TERRIBLE.

So based on this one sole match I've seen you play I'm completely writing you off as promotion candidates and I can confirm that from what I've seen, Cambridge ARE CRAP.

Why did you have to sit through 90 mins of football to see if the U's /or any other side will be going up this year? Lol.

I think I have discovered an easier way, and a time saving one at that -the YouTube highlights! All it took me was ten mins to see that Salford will win the league, Tranmere and Newport to miss out on the top 7, Stevenage to make the top half and Southend to comfortably stay up.

Bill Shankly was spot on.

Football is a simple game, complicated by idiots.

You know Vanni I didn't really watch it, I was just joking.

As if I would pay a tenner to watch a L2 match that doesn't feature my own team.

Don't think TV does justice to league 2 football. When you're at games it seems pretty good, exciting at times but when it's on the box it generally looks like turgid shit. Funny really.

I watched Man Utd - West Ham last night and that was turgid shit as well.

At least at League 2 level the players give a shit (most of the time).

We had Randall and Randell out, as well. We obviously weren't going to beat an average conference side, and we somehow dominated the game against Carlisle despite losing by a goal. Despite having a nice long break from playing, they still looked no better than Stevenage. They were still training so they can't say they weren't prepared or at proper fitness. Much better to have a long break than to be playing 3 times in 7 days.

I'd have thought they should've dominated the game and put 4 or 5 past a tired Exeter team with our main players injured. Instead they managed just 34% possession against us when at home. Truly embarrassing for a team that think they're going to walk the league.

Dude we're on the same points as you with three games in hand
You're below us in the league, so who cares? You haven't won any of those games in hand. That's what your entire fan base was posting on this forum when you were top despite everyone below you having games in hand. Why the sudden change of attitude? Bottom line is you're out of the play offs, never mind automatics. Just a few weeks ago you lot were saying you're going to walk the league.

Didn't realise our entire fan base was posting on this forum. I have no idea why you've had a sudden change in attitude, why are you asking me a question about whatever's going on in your own head? All I know is that a few weeks ago you were banging on about how we were only above you because you had games in hand, and now the boot is on the other foot you're banging on about who cares about games in hand?

There's still half a season to go so be careful with your premature gloating over league positions. You may well look even more of an idiot at the end of the season than you do now.

Eh, I'm just saying you're not good enough to go up, you lot are the ones claiming the league has already been won. Nothing to do with who's above who. When I claimed a few weeks ago Carlisle were not as good as you lot were saying and teams had games in hand and you didn't deserve to be there, you all said 'but we have points on the board and that's all that matters' - Now everyone else has points on the board and not games in hand, you've completely flipped. It's amusing.

FWIW, I don't think we are good enough to go up. But I certainly know Carlisle won't be going up this season, genuinely one of the worst sides we have faced.

My opinion on how good Carlisle are has nothing to do with how good we are and where we will finish.

Didn't say that at all, you're just trolling because the only person constantly bringing games in hand into the discussion is you. You actually said back when we went top of the table that we were only top because other teams had games in hand. Now you're saying how amusing it is that I've flipped when you're the one who flipped.

You seem to be unaware that if you try and mock someone for saying something ridiculous it's actually possible to go back to the point you're talking about and see who exactly it was saying ridiculous things.

This is you six weeks ago. I felt confident that we could get promoted this season and you came along to rant about how other teams had games in hand.
You realise you're only 5 points ahead of 7th and they have a game in hand? We have 2 games in hand which could put us 2 points behind you.
You're not top on ppg, you're top because you've played more than the teams around you.
The arrogance of saying you're nailed on for top 7 when teams below you have games in hands is astonishing
I never said we were nailed on, just that I thought we would/could get promoted.

And for contrast, this is you now:
You're below us in the league, so who cares? You haven't won any of those games in hand.

He won't pay any attention to it. He's the kind of guy who will say the table never lies if his team are above yours, and then if your team go above his then he'll say the table means nowt until the season is over.

Every normal fan knows that like with the games in hand thing, the reality is somewhere in the middle. Games in hand aren't points on the board but they do mean you have extra goes at getting points on the board. Nobody can be certain how the table will be after all the games have been played but for example, I'd be more confident putting my life savings on Cambridge winning the title than on Grimsby. We all know Devon lads absolute statements are bollocks.

He knows that he looks like an idiot too. He just wants to bring everyone else down with him by trying to goad them into making such a statement.

I see the 2020/2021 league two champions are currently losing at Harrogate. A team who have won the least points at home this season in our league.

I'm confused. Nothing there is contradictory.

I'll respond in a bit more depth when you dont edit my posts down to try and change them. Please re-post without doing it.

You lot claimed you were gunna win the league. You were never clear top on merit when everyone below you had games in hand. Now you're all saying you're still the best because you have games in hands and can go back top.

Why didn't you quote my other post, in-between the two you edited down, to show that I quite clearly said I dont think we will go up? You can edit members posts but you realise this is a forum, all they have to do is click the back page button to read the full post? It makes you look incredibly 1D and shows you're a troll.

Without checking it I would be amazed if they’ve picked up less at home than us this season, we’ve only had two 1-0 wins and a few draws.
