Wouldn't be the first time a clubs supporters have come down to this division acting Billy Big Bollocks indeed I think on our relegation here the time before the last one some of us Vale fans might have been a bit guilty of that myself included. Nothing will quite bring you down to earth than when you get battered at home by Morecambe or in our case back then a 4-1 loss at home to Macc.

Boltons biggest challenge will be the fact they have an almost entirely new squad so getting them ready to play like the league 2 Man City will be near on impossible. That is why I actually fancy our chances over them as we've gone down the continuity route, all the players know the system already and whats expected of them so once they've built up fitness should be in a decent position.

"We'll have eight weeks of pre-season so there'll be no problem with gelling"

Fucking hell, are there any more of them out there...

I don't see much difference between Bolton's arrival in this division and our relegation to the National League.

It took us eighteen months to find a team that gelled at that level and three years to win promotion, despite having one of, if not the, biggest budgets in the division in all three seasons and a cherry picked squad of top scorers and player of the year winners from other clubs at that level.

Real football is never as simple as Football Manager.

Took Portsmouth a good four years to get out didnt it? They’d won the FA cup and been finalists again in something like the 6 years before. Bradford big fan base took 6 years to get out before and ended up back here again.

Bolton will be favoured and should be looking to get out first time out but this is a real slog of a league.

I was guilty in 2008, we’d been out of here 25 years, a lot of fans had never seen us here before and after having a side 10 years before just miss out on the play offs to get in the Premier League and some of our greatest years got to be honest I expected us to be walloping the likes of Accrington and Morecambe..

The horrors hit home in our first home game when we got done over by Accrington... then within weeks smashed by Macclesfield 1-4 and Shane Tudor losing his shit. Ended up 18th in the end. That was with a manager who’d done well in non league and we’d given a chance to as well... he was gone by October.

Far from any guarantees and memories of beating X Y and Z ten years ago in the glory days mean nothing on a cold January night away at Morecambe when your 2-0 down.

Bolton will have hoped they have bottomed out but is a big rebuilding job and need to get a losing mentality that will be ingrained in the place past couple of years. May be slow starters and will need patience from the fans. Teams will likely raise their game for Bolton and will be desperate for the scalp.

Any of your clubs selling match video passes to see PSF games live at £5 a pop. Apparently we are.

our first game is vs Peterborough with a 12 noon kick off on Tuesday.
Absolutely not. What a terrible idea.

Good and fair account of teams that have had there eyes opened when they fell into this league.
Its only two seasons ago when we playing championship football.
We was at our lowest on the eve of last season when players refused to travel to wycombe on hearing there wages had not been paid.
We played with a team of kids.....We then signed players with no ambition and stuttered through the rest of the season until covid put us out of our misery.
The club has completly transformed itself since around june this year.
You cannot blame us fans for going slightly overboard with our predictions

Wouldn't pay a fiver to get in to a friendly let alone to watch it on some dodgy stream probably filmed at pitch level as players you don't recognise/can't make out jog about half arsed, stop for drinks breaks and get subbed on and off all the time.

I think I actually would pay £5 to watch a streamed friendly, knowing full well I’d be bored to tears within 10 minutes!

I’ve heard clubs are looking to build streamed games into season ticket packages. It’d make sense to trial that in pre-season.

Apparently Tuesday’s game will be Peterborough’s third on this pay to view behind closed door PSF in a week. They are also selling full match re runs at £3 a pop.

No idea if we've arranged any friendlies yet, there's been nothing from the club. I think we're back in training but coverage has been sparse.

Our local press don't have any reporters covering us atm either.

“You cannot blame some of our fans for going overboard with our predictions”

Overboard is saying you’ll get promoted at the first time of asking. Not saying you’ll be in the bloomin Championship 3 years from now!!

Depends on your expectations . The owners paid out what in this division is a large compensation fee to get the right man.
They brought him in because they can see how he works. His Belief ,the way he sets teams up everything about Evatt points to him being a winner.
They have backed him on his recruitment. The vibe in the town is this is the beginning of our rise back up the leagues.
On monday we will be starting week 4 of pre season training.....These are young powerful athletic players.
Evatt is putting them through the mill with double sessions most days.
I come on here and listen to supporters from other teams and most have only half a dozen players or they have yet to start training.
I know which team will make a flying start this season.

The other day, the Bolton fans were saying that Tobias Phoenix is doing all the recruitment...

Quite correct, but Evatt gives him a list of players for specific positions......Then goes doing what he is paid for to train/coach the players.
Tobias Phoenix then offers terms/contracts to the players agent and negotiates on the clubs behalf.
Gone are the days when a manager does everything.

That is true, the local rag sacked their only football reporter...who we then hired!

Can see it now, when Bolton lose their first game of the season 3-0. The internet will go off quicker than it seems to have come on. Deluded bunch

No evidence of a losing mentality on here haha.

Don't know, I was thinking of Ash Loveridge who was made redundant by the SNJ.

I heard about that, it's why I asked about Glos Live. I know there was some animosity when Vince banned them for reporting on our attempt to get Elliott Frear a few years back.

We have 3/4 friendlies pencilled in. All against higher opposition, starting with one this weekend.
