Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere or if it's to do with BT but both of our games with Southend have moved to Fridays now too...

...absolutely ridiculous.

Your game away at Notts might well be Friday as well. Us and Forest are both at home that day, so depends whose turn it is to move.

You may yet be saved by the police not wanting Notts vs Grimsby on a Friday night.

Starting to think this is all a massive conspiracy from the Brotherhood members to ensure we are taken out of the running for the esteemed accolade of Highest Percentage of Home Supporters Taken Away 2021/22. An accolade we consistently smashed the rest of the division in during our Conference v1.0 Years.

I though that was Chester? they used to take 500-600 away and their home attendance was almost the same.

Now this is one that I would be happy with as this is my start of February shift pattern: :)

They moved our game last year for that reason, then Forest game got moved for TV. So neither side played on Saturday, disgraceful making part time players play on a Friday. :ffs:

We started playing the same time as them later in the season when it had been behind closed doors for ages. Think the game with you was really on so presumably got moved when they thought there was going to be a crowd.

That could be tough on Stockport as they play Aldershot on 9th October so bringing your game forward would mean that they only have the 13 days recovery time so I would expect they may request to get the Aldershot game pushed back to the Friday night also to allow them to have a full 2 weeks recovery.

It does seem that GTFC agreed to the move of our game at Stockport - in the interests of "transparency" it's on the GTFC website.

Thank you Paul Hurst, at least we now know we were asked if we'd change. The Southend changes are obviously 'tit for tat' as they asked for their home game to be played on a Friday, so we returned the favour!

Reply from the Mariners Trust about the Stockport fixture change posted on The Fishy:

"Direct impact of TV – As part of the TV contract with BT, member clubs are required to facilitate fixture changes for live TV with clubs receiving compensation as follows ,home club £6k and away clubs £2k. The kick off time for Saturday’s is a regular 5.20pm slot which does make it hard for supporters travelling long distances by public transport to get home again. The league and BT will argue the live coverage gives thousands of fans who wouldn’t normally have travelled to chance to see their team.

Indirect Impact of TV – This is when a game has moved for TV and one of the teams has another fixture within 48 hours. In that situation the team affected can apply for its next fixture to be changed. This is what has happened for the Stockport game, they have applied for the change, which is their prerogative and we have no say in the matter. The only choice we had was 7.45 pm on the Monday or 7.45pm on the Tuesday and the manager chose the Tuesday as it gives the players more rest period.”

Nice, was hoping us vs Southend was gonna be on as I can't get to that. Probably a good indication that the Roots Hall match (also on a Friday) will be on too.

Us on TV twice?

Must be desperate

Wasn't the Chesterfield game meant to be on TV as well? They're just picking games that are guaranteed goals with us involved.
Be nice if they could push that Grimsby kick off time to 8pm, I've got a mad dash from getting my son from school then straight up to Grimsby, I'll just about make a 7:45pm kick off if the traffic is fine.

Given the way your season is going, I can't help but admire that level of commitment. Top class.

Literally just ticking grounds off and for some reason Grimsby away is top of my eldest sons away day list. Hopefully be at Altrincham the week after, Notts County on the 11th December and whatever game we've got on the 18th December, that's me for the rest of the year with Southend.
I'm most looking forward to Altrincham and this Belgian Beer place that's meant to be in the town. Don't go to any Southend games looking forward to the football anymore, I don't even expect us to score a goal.

There's a cracking chippy near the ground at Alty, if that's your bag. I love the away day there.

Absolute Jokers. Of course noone knows what league placings will be at the time of the game but currently we 4th are at home to 2nd (grimsby) on boxing day. Your telling me that's not more high profile than Bromley v Southend.

Of course it's to be expected. Bt hate us for some reason. Do everything possible to avoid picking us for tv and try to get around mentioning us on the goals show week in week out. Pathetic company.

Can happen at any game up and down the league. Guess that's why they've gone for the plastic fantastic one. You know the game with you guys was the only one we had postponed last year I think..just happened a few times.

You really think a multi billion pound company have a grudge against…Halifax? And tailor their tv coverage as a result?

Don't get why people moan about not being on the tele. I'm bloody glad we're not having our fixture list toyed with. It's bad enough we don't have a game on Boxing Day because of this tinpot shite league

Gonna be a bumper away following that too, probably the biggest of the season in the division at that point I'd imagine.

I can just picture the scenes at BT's AGM

"So that's £23b revenue report completed, 2022 budget & aquisition exploration approved... I think that's all business concl-"

"If I may interrupt, sir..."

"What is it, Blenkins?"

"We haven't re-affirmed our annual hatred of a certain Division Five team from West Yorkshire."

"Of course! The most important part. All those in favour raise your hands... carried."

I like this conspiracy and I'm going to continue to broadcast it. The current production manager for BT sport National League coverage is one Laura Beck. I have it on good authority she once had a traumatic experience as a child at Eureka and now cannot hear the word Halifax without suffering from a nervous tick, hence her disdain for featuring them on live television.
I also believe if you set up sensitive sound recording equipment you'll find every time Halifax is said on the highlights show the sound level drops 25 decibels. Coincidence? I think not.
