Some positive news for a change. Kieran Green signs a new 1 year deal. Good retention that. Was one of our best players last season

Hard tackling no nonsense midfielder. Good to get him on board. Time to crack on with new signings now

Hmmm, so that's Johnson, Summerfield, Green, in fact everyone bar Williams (a squad player), Clarke (who wanted more money than we thought he was worth) and Earing (who moved into the Football League) and King (who took a step back for more money :bdick: ). Weren't there a couple of clowns around here crying the last few weeks coz "we're losing orl are best playyuz!!, Wah! Wah! Wah!":ds::ds:

So in summary… you lost your two best players. So the other two Halifax fans were right to be frustrated? No?

Is the clown talking rubbish again? Got him on ignore now. Yes, we lost our best two players to yourselves in King and Earing to Walsall.

Good news on Summerfield and Green staying as them 2 and Hyde were probably our next best 3 players. So hopefully the Hyde rumours to Southend don’t come to fruition.

Just need Bradbury, Senior, Woods and Davison-Hale to sign now then we’ve got an ok start. Will need some quality signings like.

Hi mate, please can you add some more brackets into that sentence? Thanks.

Well JR has confirmed players will be leaving, even some that have ‘done well’ for him this last season…

I’m going to have a guess that over the next few weeks we will see the following depart:

- Alex Whittle (LB): Steady player who’s done okay since coming in, but since the signing of Miller, either him or Taylor have to go… and for me, Taylor is much the better player

- Tom Whelan (CAM): Strangely fell out of favour with Rowe towards the end of the season, as Mandeville and Clarke really stepped up and cemented their place in the XI. Whelan was class for us for the first few months of him signing, but think he will be one to leave also.

- Joe Rowley (CAM): Promised so much as a youngster, and JR seemed to really rate him. But his performances just aren’t consistent enough to ever hold down a starting spot and I personally don’t think he’s good enough for FT professional football.

- Kairo Mitchell (ST): A loan move to another side at this level would be perfect for him IMO, where he can go and be the main man. The potential in him is massive, but just too far down the pecking order here. Expect him to depart either permanently or on loan (hopefully the latter).

In terms of incomings I still expect us to bring in another keeper as back up, but not sure there will much more movement other than that from us now. Happy with the squad we’ve got!

Wouldn’t be shocked if we were interested in one or two of those. We won’t pay a fee though. Would have to be free or a long term loan

Martin Woods signs a new 1 year deal. His experience will be key in our young looking team so far. Steady player who keeps possession well, too much for the sake of it sometimes for my liking.

Just waiting on Bradbury, Senior and Davison-Hale (backup GK) now. Hope the first two stay, not fussed either way on the latter as the backup gk never plays over Johnson. Then there’s the Hyde rumour which hopefully doesn’t come to fruition.

"Best player" is a subjective term. The inconvenient truth is they weren't our best players last season- Summerfield and Green were.

King winning your clubs player of the year award whilst also being your only player in the leagues TOTY tells me that the ‘inconvenient truth’ is that he was definitely your best player last season:lol:

Tom Bradbury signs a new one year deal. Solid left footed centre back which offers some balance to our back line. Just need Senior and our backup GK to sign now then that’s all of last seasons squad spoken for.

Still no new signings for us yet. Making us be patient on that front.

Jack Senior signs a new one year deal now. That’s pretty much the core of the squad sorted. Just need a few signings to bulk us up and add a bit of extra quality

GK:

Sam Johnson

Defenders:

Niall Maher
Neill Byrne
Tom Bradbury
Jay Benn (will probably get loaned out after pre-season)
Jack Senior

Midfielders:

Luke Summerfield
Martin Woods
Kieran Green
Kian Spence
Dom Tear

Forwards:

Jake Hyde (rumoured to be leaving)
Jamie Allen
Matt Stenson (Injured till November)

Wild says he wants a squad of around 20/21 so based on who’s left we probably need:

Backup GK (Davison-Hale yet to sign a new deal)
CB
RWB
LWB
CAM
1/2 ST

Little and Andrews both signed new deals now so that gives us the following signed up:

GK:

Defenders:

Louie Slough
Ben Wynter
Dean Moxey
Joe Lewis

Midfielders:

Armani Little
Asa Hall
Jake Andrews

Forwards:

Connor Lemonheigh-Evans
Danny Wright
Olaf Koszela

A tad threadbare at the moment.

Rumour is that Jake Hyde is returning to Barnet to team up with Adam Marriott.

Really? The rumour a week or so ago was that he was going to Southend. Would you be able to pay a fee considering you seem a mess at times?

We're not a mess financially, have one of the richest owners in this division, he's just tight at times. He admitted after we were relegated he downed tools mentally and had sort of given up. He's got the appetite back now and saved a lot of money going cheap last season. We didn't take any loans out last season like a lot of clubs did. Quite a bit of money to play with.

We also made a lot of money using the Hive as a vaccination centre for 6 months+.

Did you have a lot of loan players last year or just let a load go ? Would of thought you would keep the vast majority of the squad if possible

Thought that was Chesterfield?
Our wonderful PM who has always taken the pandemic seriously officially opened the Hive as a vaccination centre in October.

I seriously doubt that Hyde is going to be having a 3rd spell at Barnet. We do need to sign another forward though.

How does opening the ground as a vaccination centre bring money in? Do you get a fat wedge from the government for that?

I don’t know. Maybe the club gets paid a block grant for operating a centre or they get paid based on the number of vaccinations made.
