Out of interest, are we the first team to go from winning League 2 to finishing bottom of it in the space of two years? Would be nice to have made some sort of history during our time in the EFL.

So with the top 3 away followings equaling top 3 league places, does this finally prove that the away support thread is this forum's most important, and promotion hinges on away support being MASSIVE?

Here are the home fans only ( total crowd minus away fans). As you can imagine it will not be 100% accurate as some away numbers have been estimated and some clubs count tickets sold not attendance. Numbers in brackets are last season or last time club in League Two. Interestingly nearly all show increased numbers except Swindon, MK Dons and FGR. So Notts didn't hit the magical 10k figure.

15 away games and we make the home side have their highest of the season.....hmmmmm. Staggering, really really staggering. I don't get what the appeal is.

Apparently YES according to another poster.

If so it adds another to FGR’s book of records: -

Longest continuous stint in Conference – 19 years (1998 to 2017).

Only team to reach finals of both the FA Vase (Win) & FA Trophy.

Most consecutive wins from start of season - 9 (2015-2016)

Smallest town to host a Football League team (population of Nailsworth 5,662)

First football club in the world to be certified carbon neutral under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

First team in the world to play in a football kit made from a composite material consisting of recycled plastic and coffee grounds (2021).

Forest Green introduced the first robot lawn mower to be used by a British football club on to its playing surface. (April 2012),

Unsurprised ours is so low given we were relegated last year, charge £25 a ticket and technically had the worst season in our short history (4th in L2, tough life).

I suppose at least our away support is growing a bit, given we now take 8.5% of our home crowd away. We used to do about 4% (much higher home numbers of 8-10k in L1 but away more like 300-400 average).

Some fantastic support from the locals in that table. To average 9808 support without any visiting supporters is hard to compute. It's even more impressive than the overall average of 10,905.

For about a decade we tried to get an overall season average attendance at Meadow Lane of 8000 (8 through the gate) which would have been great and of course we failed each and every season.

Now we absolutely smash that number with those in black and white. If 10,000 is the magical number (?) that will only be achievable in a promotion season imo.

Also absolutely superb support in North Wales and the Manchester suburbs as well.

All recently stained clubs getting attendances in the past they could only have dreamt of. Viva La Covid, great owners and the greed of the Premier League.

For some reason we announce the actual bums on seats rather than 'seats sold ' whivh slightly annoys me as loads of season holders don't turn up every week so puts our average down somewhat .Do any other teams announce the actual turnout in league 2 ?

We're still trying to establish what our home support is. Predominantly longstanding supporters are in the main stand and behind the goal like me. A lot of families - attracted by the cheap kids STs - are packing out the family stand. Except they're not because the seats are often empty. This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Blocking seats so that casuals can't buy isn't good. We're now offering 70% payback but when kid's tickets are peanuts, there's no incentive to make parents return them.
