Team that finishes bottom of the pack of play-off teams wins the play-offs shocker.

I mean this, and I really do - as I sit on the coach awaiting a 4 hour drive home, too much sun and too much beer, too much heartbreak and too much disappointment...

Go hand it to 'em in League One, Crawley. What you did over three playoff games is insane, and nobody deserves to be there but you. Enjoy it, embrace it, relish it, and earn it all over again. To the fans - have a blast tonight, and maybe raise one for us as we have a bloody long way to get home, but celebrate and have a blast. There's nothing like winning the playoffs.

Congratulations to Creepy, well deserved.

Glad to see the back of probably our biggest bogey side in the lower leagues.

Good luck next season.

Great effort for crawley, really surprised but they’ve done brilliantly in the playoffs.

They’ve achieved above expectations wildly and whereas this season they achieved almost the impossible in a league featuring the likes of birmingham, barnsley, bolton, charlton, reading to name a few they’ll need to do it again.

Good post pal, been there myself 2 years ago and it does suck. For what it’s worth we managed to go up in the end and maybe the same destiny awaits you.

Sums up today really. The whole thing has been a non-event for Sky, from the kick off time to the shipping fans in and out.
We know now, so they can go on about Liverpool for 20 mins. Ffs

Congrats to Crawley well deserved on the day! my thoughts go out to Micky Demetriou thats 3 play off finals in 6 years and he has been on the loosing side each time, perhaps some things are not meant to be.

On a personal note i am glad it was Crawley as the place is a nightmare to get to for an away day where as Crewe is a straight forward train ride from my gaff, once more congrats to Crawley.

Didn't show up. Same question marks that have been there since the start of March came back big time about starting XI, tactics, subs, the players themselves. Been a good season no doubt, but this is the right outcome. If the manager and these players are as good as some claim them to be, they'll be back in the promotion mix next season.

As for Crawley, wow. Played some outstanding football, were miles the better team, should have won by more and proved everyone wrong. Fair play. Best of luck to them in L1 next season.

I'd obviously have loved to go up, but fuck me we are nowhere near ready for League One.

It looks like it’ll be a bloodbath that league next season. Partly why I’ve been so at ease about coming the other way as knew what was coming our way if we did somehow survive.

Disappointed but like I've always maintained won't begrudge Crawley one bit. They turned up and we didn't it's as simple as that. Not calling for sackings or players to be shown the door like some entitled fanbases do in this situation. We just weren't good enough and we'll go again next season.

Well done Scott Lindsey and Crawley. Lindsey manager of the season and his story is incredible. A disgrace he didn't get that award.

We go again next year. Confident we can challenge again, even if we need a bit of a rebuild. Will be a blessing for us and not a curse.

Congrats to Crawley, and especially to Scott Lindsey who is a top bloke and deserves this after all him and his family have been through. Play some good stuff as well.

Crawley deservedly ahead but I can’t help but notice from watching these play offs is the gulf in difference between League One and Two in terms of physicality. Whoever comes up out of these two will be relegated in 12 months barring improvements.
Ha ha ...the mighty Shrewsbury have spoken.
I presume you mean relegated along with the shrews m

With Bolton and Crewe failing, it just leaves Southampton from the cringe pitch invasion brigade to bottle it now

Congrats to Crawley, played a level above MK and Crewe

I'm not as gutted as I thought I'd be to be honest. The truth is, it was a step too far and were probably not ready for league 1. It's been a fantastic season with some very memorable moments.

Congratulations to Crawley, over 3 games they were fantastic and worthy play off winners. There fans seemed nice enough aswell, no sign of any trouble and no rubbing it which was abit of a shock. Infact couldn't believe how many Crawley fans left early and were way along Wembley way with the Crewe fans at full time.

This is something I noticed too. A lot of the Crawley fans had gone by the time the final whistle went and the walk back to the car parks was about a 50/50 mix of the two sets of fans. Never seen that before.

Most aren't Crawley fans. Same for Most lower league teams in Wembley finals. Nothing worse than lower league teams bragging like Oxford yesterday bragging about how many they've taken to Wembley. Where are they all throughout the season or when theyre having a mediocre season? In the pub watching Soccer Saturday waiting for the Premier League scores to come in.

Well done to Crawley. Stevie Lindsay where do you want your statue?

Crewe fans- hard luck but I thought you were crap to be honest. Straight back down if you'd gone up is the solace for those driving home.
