Of the teams we've faced I'd fancy MK Dons to go up but not by much, I do rate Mike Williamson though. Crewe looked well organised both games and an improved team in the second fixture , Barrow nothing special home or away, Crawley like a different team in March to the team we played in the Autumn, miles better playing similar attacking football to us but defended properly.
Walsall were worse last week than the first time we played them and it's astonishing that Doncaster and Bradford are in with a shout after both looking like relegation fodder against us. Fair play to them both for the doggedness over the season to keep going when Bradford looked a light year away from a promotion push just a month ago at their place.

Have Wrexham confirmed they'll give us a guard of honour at their place next week?

It's been talked about on our forum for some time now. Did you not get awarded the trophy yesterday?

I suppose we will have to if you didn't yesterday

I suppose we will have to won't we? Awful business, that's going to be really upsetting.

With the result largely meaningless. I hope both teams really just go for it as if it was a cup match.

If yesterday is anything to go by we will.

We made four changes at HT yesterday just because we could and ended the match with two wingers as full backs in a back four.

The current play-off teams have lost 57 games between us. We are all wank.

I'd be gobsmacked if we are!

Still been a pretty injury ridden season for the stags, thankfully that bit of extra depth seen us over the line but we’ve still played a concerning amount of games with two strikers in defence.

We were awarded the trophy and medals handed out at home to Accrington on Saturday so we won't be doing that at your place but I've always thought the done thing is that a confirmed Champion team gets a guard of honour before every game for the rest of the season after they were confirmed Champions.

This is only going off what I've seen happen to other teams, seeing County as champions with games to spare is unchartered water for me so I don't know for sure.

Clearly the best three sides already promoted. Although none are a surprise all are thoroughly deserved and I like that.

The rest are either bang average or very inconsistent.

Both Stockport and particularly Wrexham have huge squads (with quality in depth) compared to most other teams and that helped enormously when injuries and loss of form have occurred.
As has been said inconsistency for one reason or another has been the problems with the teams below.
Crewe have had 2 slumps coinciding with injuries, Barrow 2 slumps coinciding with winning the previous months "Manager of the month award".
As for who goes up with the top 3 i'd say Doncaster have to be strong favourites if they get there. Our only hope is beating Bradford tomorrow, but as we've beaten them the last 3 times we've played they're due a result....

You’ve certainly got to have more depth to get up there for sure, whereas we don’t have the squad or budgets stockport, and certainly wrexham had we’ve still had more depth this season than before and we wouldn’t have made it otherwise.

Obviously there’s factors which you can’t control - it’s been a particularly bad winter which has hindered those with smaller squads as games have caught up, pitches have been bad which has caused injuries.

Our issue is, our budget often only allows us to sign crocks like Conor Thomas, Chris Long, Courtney Baker-Richardson and Charlie Colkett.

We've also had freakish bad luck with some injuries. Zac Williams landing badly on his ankle in games on 2 seperate occasions. Jack Powell, one of the most durable CMs over the last few seasons, does his ACL 15 games into the season. Our glue like CB/CM Luke Offord also doing his ankle in a bad landing. Baker-Richardson going down on his shoulder after trying to head a ball. Not a lot you can do about those.

But the amount of muscle injuries we've had has been ridiculous. Hamstrings, calves, thighs, we've had about 20 different muscle injuries over the season which have seen players miss games. Serious questions need asking over our medical and sports science teams, because I've never seen anything like this.

So we’ve got

MK
Doncaster
Crawley
Crewe

From a selfish perspective (presumably with the stockport and wrexham fans) it’ll be nice to watch with the feet up and chill with a beer in hand.

Feeling it’ll be an MK/doncaster final, but as we’ve all found out it’ll be lottery

With the playoffs you can throw out any form guide going into it as it pretty much counts for nothing now. Neither of the last two winners us or Carlisle were in particularly sparkling form going into them. Only thing I’d say is if Crewe somehow get by Donny then Wembley should really suit their style of play so I’ll guess at the promoted team to come from that tie.

I’m hoping Donny just because it’s a close away day.

If you are in L2 next season you’ve got to want MK to win it despite how dirty that may make you feel.

Right now I'd say we've got zero chance of winning the playoffs. We'll struggle against Doncaster and there's no way in hell we'd beat MK assuming they get past Crawley.

The pressure of the playoffs is like no other, the final representing your whole season's efforts in one game.

Defeat at any stage is gutting, but to win the playoffs especially at Wembley is incredible. Best days ever, the real big day out.

I'm fortunate enough to have seen us in the playoff final three times - twice at the old Wembley (lost on penalties to York and won vs Brentford) and once at the new Wembley (won vs Cheltenham). Winning there is one of the best days a football fan can have. Losing there is just unimaginable with how shit it is.
